Chapter 505: Chapter 435 This Matter is a Bit Suspenseful (One More)_2

"Not scared, I actually think it’s kind of fun." Yi Luowa peeked at the two kids. "I’m going to wash my hands, I’ll be right back."

Madam Jing Ya looked lovingly at Yi Luowa. "Go ahead, when you come back, give these two a hug. Look at them—just hearing your voice made them so lively." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

"Okay." Yi Luowa jogged back to the bedroom.

Young Sangyu stretched her eyes toward the direction her mom left, and suddenly, when no one was there anymore, she puckered her little lips and was about to cry.

Tong Yao hurriedly picked her up and stood. "Grandma will take you to find mommy."

The child seemed to understand what grandma said and blinked her curled eyelashes.

Tong Yao chuckled. "Ah, you little clever thing. No wonder everyone likes you so much! You’re still so young, but you already understand what we’re saying."

You gently placed the box down and glanced at Sangyu from afar, then lethargically entered the downstairs bathroom.

Tong Yao and Madam Jing Ya exchanged a look. Madam Jing Ya asked suspiciously, "What’s wrong with Youyou? She didn’t even rush to hold the baby."

Tong Yao laughed helplessly. "She secretly moved the baby to Xuanxuan’s room last night. Long Che and Rui’er didn’t give her a good face; she might be feeling embarrassed."

"Ah, Che’er’s temper only grows with age, more and more every year. I went to see Pengpeng over there yesterday and suggested they come live here for a few days. Shanshan was so scared, she refused to come at all."

"Did Long Che say something about Shanshan?" Tong Yao frowned unhappily.

"No, I only heard about it later from your father. When Luowa was in confinement, Shanshan came with Pengpeng to visit her. Pengpeng cried so loudly that it startled Sangyu, and Che’er’s face darkened on the spot. Shanshan felt so awkward that since then, she’s only come by herself—she hasn’t brought Pengpeng again."

Tong Yao let out a soft sigh. "Mom, don’t you think Long Che behaves like only his granddaughter is precious while others’ kids are nothing?"

"It’s all because you spoil him!" Madam Jing Ya laughed.

Tong Yao puffed up in frustration, "If you ask me, it’s your fault for indulging him. You never control whatever he does! Everyone in this house has to listen to him, and whoever dares not to gets the cold shoulder from him on the spot."

Madam Jing Ya laughed heartily. "And who does he listen to? Isn’t the mastermind behind the scenes still you?"

"Is this the prelude to a war?" Yi Luowa asked with a mischievous smile as she walked over.

Tong Yao smiled and nodded. "Yep, war will break out any moment now. If I argue with your grandma, who would you side with?"

"I’ll side with reason, not relationships. Whoever’s in the right, I’ll side with them." Yi Luowa giggled. "But honestly, I don’t think you’d ever argue with my grandma."

Tong Yao handed Sangyu to her. "Hold the baby for a while; I’m going to give Shanshan a call."

"Alright, I’ll hold our little princess." Yi Luowa held her daughter, stepped in front of Madam Jing Ya, and smiled at her son, saying, "Sweetheart, Mommy will hold your little sister for just a bit, then I’ll hold you, okay?"

Ziyan blinked his eyes, staring blankly at his young mommy.

Feeling a pang of guilt, Yi Luowa sat down next to Madam Jing Ya and gently stroked her son’s tiny head.

"You see now, both the palm and the back of the hand are flesh. You understand the meaning of this phrase, don’t you?" Madam Jing Ya smiled.

Yi Luowa nodded slightly. "If I fall short on either side, it feels wrong in my heart."

"Darlings, your grandaunt is here—haha! I calculated that it’d be time for you to wake up, and here I am." Laughter echoed from the doorway as Yan Zi arrived.

Yi Luowa glanced at the doorway, smiling. "Auntie, you sure have perfect timing every day."

"If your third brother and Joyina weren’t living at home, I wouldn’t even go back. Staying here every day with the two little treasures makes me feel younger!"

Yan Zi walked in and looked at the two children. "They’re growing so quickly every day!"

"Auntie, what’s Joyina been busy with lately? We haven’t seen her around much." Yi Luowa shifted over to leave space in the middle for Yan Zi.

Yan Zi reached out and took Ziyan from her mother’s arms, joking as she said, "Joyina’s been busy shooting a movie—been running around like crazy, always coming back late at night."

"Shooting a movie?" Yi Luowa laughed. "Joyina is amazing!"

Yan Zi let out a sigh. "Yeah, the script was written by someone she hired. She’s the lead actress and producer. I don’t have the heart to pour cold water on her enthusiasm, but I think it’s likely she’ll lose money on this project."

"Is that what you, as a mother-in-law, should be saying?" Madam Jing Ya looked with disapproval at her daughter. "Back in the day, you couldn’t outperform her either, didn’t you slowly work your way to success one step at a time?"

"I’m just saying this to you guys. In front of Joyina, I only say supportive things. I even promised her I’d be her off-set advisor."

You stood at the doorway, quietly listening. Only after Yan Zi finished speaking did she walk inside.

Yan Zi instinctively tightened her hold on Ziyan.

You pouted. "You don’t ever have to worry about me anymore. I won’t fight to hold them again."

Yan Zi blinked and asked, "I’m curious, what happened last night? Why are you suddenly so well-behaved?"

Staring at the tips of her shoes, You softly muttered, "I’m naturally well-behaved."

Yan Zi glanced at her with a sly smile. "You should just act normal. I feel uncomfortable seeing you like this."

"Haha..." Yi Luowa laughed and looked at You. "I feel uncomfortable too! Youyou, why did you take so long in the bathroom downstairs?"

"Please call me Luo You!" You pouted and stared at Yi Luowa.

Yi Luowa chuckled. "Alright, Luo You!"

"I took a phone call. I’m heading out for two days." You grinned mysteriously. "Don’t ask me where I’m going; just know I’m not doing anything bad!"

Yi Luowa gave her a doubtful look.

Even Yan Zi was startled.

You pursed her lips and laughed. "Don’t give me this look. I’m handling business, really!"

Yi Luowa frowned slightly. "Last time you mysteriously disappeared with Xuanxuan for several days, and now you’re leaving again? Was that call from your brother-in-law?"

"No." You pouted. "If I weren’t worried about you all, I wouldn’t have said anything. I’m leaving now to save you from further questions."

Tong Yao walked over with her phone and asked worriedly, "Youyou, where are you going?"

"Aunt, I can’t say. It’s work-related." You stepped back and found an opening to dash out.

Tong Yao and Yi Luowa exchanged glances. Tong Yao sighed helplessly. "The wedding is coming up, and one hasn’t returned, while another leaves. Will this wedding even happen?"

Yi Luowa pressed her lips tightly together. "It should work out."

At noon, after putting the two babies to sleep, Yi Luowa returned to her bedroom. After much hesitation, she picked up her phone and dialed Tong Airui.

"Honey, what are your orders?" Tong Airui teased on the line.

"You left." Yi Luowa said those three words and pressed the phone tightly to her ear, wanting to hear Tong Airui’s reaction.

Tong Airui chuckled. "I know. I sent her out—something came up with Old Eight that he couldn’t handle alone. If it were up to him, he probably wouldn’t make it back by the wedding."

Yi Luowa pursed her lips. "Is You your person?"

Tong Airui laughed. "No, she’s Old Eight’s."

Yi Luowa frowned. "Honey, my mom only has one daughter. Please be careful if you need to use her."

"I know; I won’t let her handle anything dangerous. I sent her this time because of the wedding date."

Yi Luowa sighed. "I know you’ll handle it well. If you have time, try to get some rest."

"Alright, I’ll finish up my work here and take a break. If those two troublemakers are sleeping, you should rest a bit too. Don’t worry about Old Eight and You—I’ll take care of it."

Feeling uneasy, Yi Luowa hung up the call. For some reason, her heart told her that something about this situation felt off.
