Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 502 - 433 Just Right (Second Update)
Youyou had just reached the door when she heard footsteps outside. She panicked and pushed the slightly opened door shut again, and mouthed to Yi Luowa, "My brother-in-law is back."
Yi Luowa chuckled, "If he’s back, so be it. Just walk out confidently."
"I don’t dare..." Youyou glanced around before darting into the bathroom.
Yi Luowa shook her head helplessly.
Just as Youyou entered the bathroom, Tong Airui pushed the door open and walked in. He noticed Yi Luowa standing barefoot on the ground and furrowed his brow slightly, "Why aren’t you asleep yet?" 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"I fell asleep and woke up again." Yi Luowa turned and slipped on her slippers, "I put on shoes. You’re not allowed to nag me about it anymore."
"I’ve reminded you a thousand times, and you still don’t learn!" Tong Airui laughed, rubbing her head affectionately, "Lie down on the bed and rest; I’ll take a quick shower and come back to keep you company."
"Oh... no!" Yi Luowa grabbed his arm, "Don’t shower now, it’s so late. Sleep for a bit and wash in the morning."
Tong Airui looked at her and smiled, "In such a rush to get me into bed? Got thoughts? But... it’s not even three months yet. Even if you’re thinking things, I dare not give in."
"Stop talking nonsense!" Yi Luowa glared at him. The room still had a live person hiding, and if Youyou heard this, she’d spread it everywhere.
Tong Airui curved his lips mischievously, "Wife, whether you’re thinking about it or not, I can’t stop thinking about it. I’ll take a shower first. Afterward, you help me out a bit. Make me happy, and I’ll let you have some pleasure too..."
Yi Luowa immediately covered his mouth, "Enough! The more you talk, the worse it gets—bed, now!"
Tong Airui laughed and pulled her hand down gently, "Wife, you’re acting a bit weird tonight."
Yi Luowa pouted, "What’s weird about it? I’m just worried about you. You haven’t slept for two nights straight—your eyes are as red as a rabbit’s. Instead of resting properly, you’re standing here joking around!"
Tong Airui glanced at her, then dragged her toward the bathroom, "I need my shower. Without it, I can’t sleep. You’ll accompany me."
"I’m not going!" Yi Luowa clung to him tightly.
Tong Airui chuckled, raised his arm, and tucked her under his armpit. "I insist. I want to know what’s fishy in here!"
He kicked the bathroom door open.
It was empty!
Tong Airui paused in astonishment.
Yi Luowa froze too. Where was Youyou?!
Tong Airui set Yi Luowa down and looked around. There was no place to hide in there. Where could she have gone?
Yi Luowa let out a sigh of relief when she saw Youyou wasn’t inside, "Finish your shower, hurry up. I’m waiting for a handsome man’s bathing scene."
"Just a moment." Tong Airui walked toward the window, glanced at the windowsill, opened the window, and peered downward. "Quick movements indeed. What’s she doing, up this late, coming to find you?"
"She came to apologize to me." Yi Luowa pouted, "How do you know it’s her?"
"During my meeting earlier, she eavesdropped outside for at least thirty minutes. Then, I heard her footsteps as she went downstairs. When I left, I locked the door for you, but when I entered just now, the door wasn’t locked. That proves she came, and your behavior today gave you away."
Yi Luowa curled her lip, "If you don’t pursue Mom’s legacy and become a detective, it’d truly be a waste of your talents."
"I can use Mom’s skills in my own line of work."
Yi Luowa shot him a sideways glance, "Stop wasting time. Go shower."
Tong Airui chuckled, "Aren’t you worried someone will steal things from our house?"
"She’s already gone!" Yi Luowa glanced out of the window suspiciously.
Tong Airui smirked, "She’s not that quick. She’s definitely hanging on the third-floor window ledge right now."
Yi Luowa didn’t believe him and hurried to the window. She leaned forward and peered downward.
Youyou puffed her cheeks and looked up at her, "The upstairs window is locked. I didn’t have time to pick it before my brother-in-law came in."
"Come down. Leave through the door." Yi Luowa beckoned her.
"He won’t scold me, right?" Hanging mid-air, Youyou swayed uneasily, too scared to descend.
"Why would he scold you? Come on down."
Quick as lightning, Youyou slid down the wall.
Yi Luowa stared at her in stunned amazement, "Are you a gecko or Spider-Man?!"
Youyou jumped inside through the window and stole a glance at Tong Airui, "I’m heading back."
"Next time, climb down properly!" Tong Airui said with a smile, moving aside to give her space.
Youyou wrinkled her nose, "That downstairs room belongs to Grandma. I was scared of scaring her."
"At least you have some sense of decency!" Tong Airui shot her a sidelong glance.
Youyou slipped past him while muttering under her breath, "Hmph! I’ve got a ledger in my heart. I know who’s good to me and who isn’t in this house. Everything—I’ve got it all down."
"You’ve got schemes, huh!"
"Of course, what do you think? I’m not stupid!" Youyou shot him a glare over her shoulder, "I’ll kindly remind you, your household alarm system is busted. I’ve been hanging outside for ages, and it didn’t go off."
"I’ll deal with that. You go rest." Tong Airui waved his hand with mild impatience, "And here’s some friendly advice: stop carrying that rusty wire around and jiggling locks!"
"This wire, rusty?!" Youyou pulled it out of her pocket, "This was used by our esteemed Prime Minister!"
"Get out!" Tong Airui barked roughly.
Youyou left sulking. Soon, the sound of a door closing came from outside.
Yi Luowa let out a long sigh, "Shower or bath?"
"Shower. You leave—I’ll do it myself." Tong Airui began unbuttoning his shirt.
Yi Luowa leaned on the window with a grin, "I’m not leaving."
"Then stay and watch—I’ll see who gets impatient!" Tong Airui laughed.
"Honey, why does Dad always carry around a wire in his pocket?"
Tong Airui paused and smiled, "A bad habit from his youth."
"What kind of bad habit?" Yi Luowa asked inquisitively, blinking her eyes.
"Every time Mom got mad, she’d lock him outside the house. With no key, he could only use the wire."
"Pfft~" Yi Luowa burst into laughter.
"Stop laughing, silly wife. Shut the window so nobody catches a glimpse."
Yi Luowa suppressed her laughter, turned, and closed the window. "Honey, Youyou mentioned the alarm’s broken. Don’t forget to get someone to check it tomorrow morning."
"It’s not broken. I updated the system with a program that auto-recognizes Youyou. Wherever she hangs, the system blocks her automatically. Otherwise, I worry the alarm might go off one day and scare everyone."
Tong Airui turned on the shower and stood beneath it.
Yi Luowa chuckled helplessly, "Does Youyou often go out late at night?"
"When Lao Ba is home, not as much. When he’s away, she sneaks onto the roof or, if she’s tired of the roof, climbs trees."
"How do you know?"
"When I was coming home late for a while, I saw her several times. She’s got skills—always avoids the cameras expertly."
"Youyou misses Lao Ba." Yi Luowa sighed, "Having husbands like you, who suffers knows best."
"Regret it?" Tong Airui threw back his head slightly, wiping drops of water off his face.
"No, I’m even thinking about marrying you again in the next life."
"Deal!" Tong Airui grinned, "Wife, bring me a towel."
"Water got into your eyes?" Yi Luowa hurriedly handed over a towel.
Tong Airui reached for it blindly but couldn’t grasp it.
Yi Luowa stepped closer.
Tong Airui suddenly opened his eyes and pulled her firmly into his arms.
"Are you crazy?! You’ve gotten me all wet!" Yi Luowa protested, pushing him hard but failing to overpower him.
Tong Airui bent down, swept her into his arms, and strode back into the room.
"I’m not sleeping! The kids will wake up soon—I need to check on them." Yi Luowa sat up abruptly after being placed on the bed.
"They’re in Dad’s room, how’re you checking on them?"
"When it’s time to nurse, they go back to the nursery."
Tong Airui glanced at the time, fetched two outfits from the wardrobe, "Let’s check on them together. Then I’ll head to the palace and the Divine Eagle with Dad. After breakfast, you rest a little more."
"I need to practice martial arts with Youyou." Yi Luowa lazily pulled on the outfit he handed her.
"It’s not urgent. Train with her tomorrow instead."
"No, I must shed these extra pounds." Yi Luowa sighed, "I don’t know if I can ever get back to my old figure."
Tong Airui gazed at her intently, smirking slightly, "Wife, you feel perfect as you are. There’s no need for dieting."
