Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 491 - 424 You Are My Father (Four Updates)
Yi Luowa turned her head to look at Tong Airui, "If you won’t let me sleep, how about bringing the kids over? I want to see them."
"My brother doesn’t know how to hold babies! I’ll go call Dad and Mom to come in."
Tong Aini said as she started to stand up, but You Jia quickly pressed her back down.
"I’ll go, you stay still."
"No need. We’re already here, these two little ones want to see their mommy too." Tong Yao smiled as she walked in with Long Che.
"Don’t you dare call us ugly, or else you won’t get to see them." Long Che emphasized as he placed the babies down.
Yi Luowa pursed her lips and chuckled, "I promise I won’t say that."
The two little ones lay quietly by their mother’s side, unusually docile. Yi Luowa watched them, smiling uncontrollably.
She looked at the babies, while Tong Airui looked at her. His wife’s eyes were filled with maternal love. Strangely, amidst his happiness, he felt a small tinge of jealousy.
Just as Tong Airui was feeling sour, Yi Luowa turned to him with a smile and asked, "Honey, do you know how to hold babies?"
"I learned from the nanny, but I haven’t had the chance to hold them yet." Tong Airui reached his hand out to gently touch his daughter’s tiny face.
Long Che’s face instantly darkened, "Don’t touch! Your hands are so heavy, don’t hurt her delicate little face."
Tong Airui pursed his lips and withdrew his hand.
"Long Che, since everyone’s here, let’s ask them to pick names for the babies." Tong Yao tried to usher Long Che out.
Long Che reluctantly glanced at his granddaughter and said to his wife, "Keep an eye on Airui, make sure he doesn’t touch them."
Tong Yao helplessly waved him away, "Go on, I’ll watch him for you!"
"What kind of attitude is that!" Long Che huffed and walked out reluctantly, turning to glance back with every step.
Once he was gone, Tong Yao quickly beckoned her son over. "Hurry up and sneak a touch, I’ll keep an eye on your Dad."
Tong Airui laughed, "What has this turned into? I have to sneak a touch of my own babies."
Tong Yao chuckled, "Well, you have such a fussy father!"
"Let me hold them for a bit then." Tong Airui cautiously extended his hands toward his daughter.
Tong Yao immediately tensed up, staring nervously at her son’s large hands. "Son, you better not hold her. My heart’s pounding; if you drop her before you even pick her up, I might have a heart attack."
Tong Airui sighed in defeat, lowering his hands before looking plaintively at Yi Luowa.
Yi Luowa pursed her lips and said with a smile, "When Mom’s not around, you can sneak a hold."
"Ah... these two, I don’t think I’ll get a chance to hold either. From now on, I’ll just stick to holding you, wifey."
Yi Luowa winked playfully, "Honey, I’ve noticed you really favor daughters over sons. You’re touching your daughter and only talking about holding her."
"No way! It’s just that she’s closer to me." Tong Airui stubbornly denied, even though he did like his daughter just a little more. "Our daughter really looks like you as a baby."
Yi Luowa turned her head to look at her daughter, her smile growing even brighter.
Long Che returned in just five minutes, breathing a sigh of relief when he found his granddaughter still sleeping soundly.
"The names are picked. Luowa, see if you like them?" Long Che smiled and handed a slip of paper to Yi Luowa. "The girl will be named Sangyu Odric, and the boy Ziyuan Odric."
"They sound lovely; I like them. Honey, what do you think?" Yi Luowa looked at Tong Airui with a cheerful grin.
Tong Airui nodded, "As long as you like them, they’re fine. Names are just a label anyway."
"Mom, do you think they sound nice?" Yi Luowa asked for everyone’s opinion.
Tong Yao chuckled, "Yes, they’re nice."
"Then it’s settled. Tomorrow, we’ll use these names for their birth certificates."
"Hey, You Jia, Shanshan, and I haven’t voted yet!" Tong Aini said, winking at her dad.
"Out of dozens of people, everyone agrees on these names. Even if you three vote against them, it won’t matter." Long Che laughed, glancing at the time. "You all should rest now. Tonight, your Mom and I will stay here."
"I’ll stay here; you all should get some rest, especially Aini. You better go home and rest." Taking advantage of his dad’s distraction, Tong Airui sneaked a touch of his daughter’s tiny face.
Long Che, as if he had eyes in the back of his head, quickly turned and glared at his son’s hand. "Tong Airui!"
Tong Airui awkwardly pulled his hand back with a sheepish smile.
"Your Mom and I will take care of the babies; you take care of Luowa." Long Che said as he picked up his granddaughter. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"Dad..." Yi Luowa looked at her child reluctantly.
Long Che chuckled, "I know you can’t bear to be apart from her. I’ll put her in her crib so you two can sleep comfortably."
Yi Luowa glanced at the nearby crib and suggested to Long Che, "Dad, could you move the crib closer to my bed later?"
"Sure, I’ll put both little ones right by your side." Long Che placed Sangyu in the crib and noticed Tong Aini still sitting down without moving. "Don’t want to go back home? Then go rest in the room next door. I need to move the crib to where you’re sitting."
Tong Aini stood up lazily, "I’ve figured it out—once you have a granddaughter, you don’t want me, your daughter, anymore. Pushing me out so quickly!"
You Jia gave a gentle smile, helping her up and standing her off to the side, while assisting Tong Airui in pushing the two cribs closer to Yi Luowa’s bed.
Tong Aino entered the room. "Dad, I’ve sent everyone to rest. Mom and you should rest too. Connie and I will stay here tonight."
"No need. I don’t trust you." Long Che waved him off. "Everyone, go rest! Clear the room!"
Long Che had his reasons for rushing. Yi Weiyang had been quietly crying several times, and he wanted to leave him enough time to come talk with Luowa.
Once everyone was removed from the room, Long Che personally went to Yi Weiyang’s hospital room. Huo Li had just finished wiping Yi Weiyang’s tears when she heard a knock on the door and quickly stepped out.
Long Che whispered, "Still crying?"
"Yes, he just finished. After seeing little Sangyu, he’s been reminded of the past." Huo Li sniffed, opened the door wider, and invited him inside.
Yi Weiyang looked at Long Che, shaking his head in shame.
Long Che patted his shoulder heavily, "Weiyang, I understand how you feel."
Yi Weiyang shook his head with grief. "It’s been twenty-one years. I don’t want to revisit those memories, but looking at Sangyu, I couldn’t help it..."
Huo Li held his shoulder, gently patting him, "You still have me and Luowa."
Tears streamed down Yi Weiyang’s face instantly.
Long Che turned his face away, only daring to look back at Yi Weiyang after quite some time. "Weiyang, I don’t know how to comfort you, but I want to thank you. You gave up your legs to save Luowa’s life. Without you, there’d be no Luowa, and our family wouldn’t have these two adorable children. I know that right now, you most want to stay with Luowa and the kids. I’ve cleared the room for you; you can go see them."
Huo Li was stunned. Uncle Weiyang had given up his legs to save Luowa? Neither she nor Luowa had known about this. The old man had kept it hidden so well!
Yi Weiyang looked at Huo Li, "Don’t tell Luowa about this!"
Huo Li nodded, "I understand. If she finds out, it would definitely weigh on her heart. Uncle, what really happened back then? Can you share it with me?"
Yi Weiyang sighed. "When I first saw Luowa, she was only ten days old. She was about Sangyu’s size, so tiny and fragile. On the way back from the airport, I was holding her. She was so quiet, not crying or fussing, just staring at me with her big eyes.
The accident happened halfway there. During the rollover, I could’ve let go of her to save myself, but... I couldn’t bring myself to let her go. Ah, what’s the point of talking about it now? I just saw Sangyu and remembered Luowa as a baby. It’s hard to believe that tiny person is now a mother herself."
Yi Weiyang wiped his tears with a tissue. "I’ll go see Luowa and the kids."
"I’ll go with you." Huo Li supported him as they followed Long Che out of the room.
Yi Luowa was staring intently at her two children, worried that she might lose them if she wasn’t careful. She was genuinely fearful that her fate might repeat itself in her children.
"Honey, your second uncle is here," Tong Airui gently nudged Yi Luowa’s arm.
Yi Luowa turned toward the door, "Second Uncle, why are you still awake so late?"
"I just came to check on you and the kids; then I’ll go rest."
Yi Luowa grinned widely. "Second Uncle, Huo Li, come closer to look. Aren’t they adorable? They scrunch up their little noses when they sleep."
Yi Weiyang came over, lovingly gazing at the two babies. "These little ones look even more like you when they’re asleep."
"Second Uncle." Yi Luowa reached for Yi Weiyang, who quickly offered her his hand.
Yi Luowa gripped his hand tightly, "Second Uncle, thank you! I can’t even imagine how you managed to raise me from such a tiny little thing to the person I am today. The debt of being raised is greater than the debt of being born. Though I’ve never called you Dad, in my heart, you are my father."
Yi Weiyang smiled kindly, "Luowa, in my heart, you’ve always been my daughter."
Yi Luowa hesitated for a moment, then glanced at Huo Li before softly calling out, "Second Uncle..."
