Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 478 - 411: That’s How Clingy He Is! (Second Update)
Yi Luowa curiously asked, "How do you know? Quickly tell me, is it a boy or a girl?"
"It’s either a boy or a girl. Haha..." Tong Airui gave his young wife a mischievous smirk.
Yi Luowa gave him a glare, "You’re so annoying!"
"Not annoying!" Tong Airui grinned and lightly nibbled her ear, "Wife, let’s hurry up and have one too."
"Husband, Dad and Mom told me that they don’t want me to move back to the rear courtyard with you."
"Hmm, if you don’t want to go back, then don’t. You’re already like this, and I wouldn’t feel at ease with you running back and forth." Tong Airui sat closely next to her, raised his hand to gently stroke her slightly rounded belly, and said with a smile, "Huo Li came to attend Yuan Hang’s wedding today. She told me that once things settle down in the next few days, she’ll come over to keep you company."
Yi Luowa frowned slightly, "They recently developed a new sports car. I’m not sure how far along it is. I’ll call her later and tell her not to come. If she comes, my second uncle will get even busier."
"How about asking your second uncle to come live here?" Tong Airui suggested.
Yi Luowa pursed her lips, "If my second uncle comes to live here, he’ll feel too constrained."
"Sigh..."
"What are you sighing for?" Yi Luowa tilted her head and asked him with a smile.
Tong Airui apologized in a tender tone, "Just feeling bad that you have to put up with this. If we were an ordinary family, your relatives could be with you whenever they wanted."
Yi Luowa held Tong Airui’s hand tightly, "I’m not feeling wronged. It’s fine, really fine. It’s mainly my second uncle. I always feel like he’s afraid of Dad and has an exceptional respect for Mom. If he stayed at our house, he’d feel awkward."
"Not many people aren’t afraid of Dad... buzz buzz..."
Tong Airui was mid-sentence when his phone rang. The Fourth Master frowned and picked up the phone to glance at it.
"Jiasite, what’s up? Why are you free to call me today?"
"Have you been keeping an eye on Haotian’s movements lately?"
Tong Airui chuckled, "The only thing I care about right now is my wife’s belly. Why, has Haotian made a big move?"
"I knew you’d give me that answer. Haotian hasn’t shown much activity militarily, but there’s a small undercurrent that seems to be operating quite frequently."
Tong Airui’s brows furrowed, "Where does this small force come from?"
"Not sure, that’s why I wanted to ask you."
"What’s their intention?"
"It’s unclear, but they seem to be gathering intelligence."
Tong Airui stood up, "They’ve been active in the northern border regions, haven’t they?"
"Yes."
"That makes sense. I was wondering why I hadn’t heard a whisper about it. The northern border is near Beidi, which is in your jurisdiction. My people never go there."
Laughter came through the phone, "Do you think I’d take your word for that?"
"Believe it if you want." Tong Airui laughed, "I’ll ask around later, and if I get any intel, I’ll let you know right away."
"Thanks."
Tong Airui ended Jiasite’s call, then dialed Yuan Hang’s number, only to remember halfway through that today was Yuan Hang’s wedding day. The Fourth Master let out a helpless laugh, "I can’t even imagine what I’d do without Yuan Hang!"
"You guys are having an affair!" Yi Luowa joked.
"I’ll have an affair with you!" Tong Airui weighed the phone in his hand before dialing out.
"Little Mule, what’s the situation on Haotian’s side lately?"
"Nothing major. Haotian’s Prince’s condition has been stable, and after Kai Di was locked up, there’s been no further moves. However, Haotian’s Queen visits the prison nearly every other day to chat with Kai Di for half a day before leaving. It’s the Royal Prison, so our men can’t get in. We have no idea what they’re talking about."
Tong Airui pondered briefly, "The Beidi Prince told me there’s a hidden faction frequently active on Beidi’s side. Have you noticed anything?"
"Yes, but since they haven’t made any major moves, I didn’t report it to you. This faction isn’t Kai Di’s nor the Haotian Emperor’s. I’m still investigating who it belongs to."
"Alright, keep a close eye on it. Let me know immediately if there’s any news."
"Understood!"
After hanging up with Little Mule, Tong Airui looked over at Yi Luowa, "Wife, do you think if I send Old Eight off on a mission, Youyou might secretly follow him?"
"You want to send Old Eight to Haotian?" Yi Luowa shook her head, "Be cautious with this. Right now, the only ones who can rein in Youyou are you and Dad. Can you and Dad watch her every second? If she bolts while no one’s paying attention and something happens, how could we face my mom?"
Tong Airui rubbed his forehead, "Youyou’s clinginess makes it hard for Old Eight to advance. We need to figure out a way to calm her down."
"There’s definitely a solution."
"What’s the solution?" Tong Airui fixed her with a stare.
Yi Luowa burst into laughter, "Let them get married quickly, and have Youyou get pregnant as soon as possible. Once she starts having little ones, she won’t be able to run off. Plus, after she has kids, her attention will shift, and she’ll stop sticking to Old Eight every day."
"Old Eight is only twenty-three, and Youyou is just twenty-one..." Tong Airui started to respond but trailed off.
Yi Luowa pouted, "Why’d you stop talking?"
Tong Airui shook his head with a grin, "I ran out of words. After all, you’re already becoming a mom at twenty-one."
Yi Luowa pouted her lips further.
Tong Airui leaned over and nibbled on her soft lips, "You just said that having children would shift your focus. Will you be like that too?"
"..." Yi Luowa didn’t answer aloud, but her heart replied: Of course!
Tong Airui saw her expression and knew the answer immediately. He let out a particularly sorrowful sigh, "Ah! It seems I won’t escape this fate either. And compared to everyone else, I’ve got it the worst. They’re losing half the affection, but I’m losing two-thirds!"
Yi Luowa laughed and rubbed his head, "Be good, I’ll love you a little extra."
Tong Airui snorted, "You only say nice things. I used to hesitate, but now I’m not hesitating anymore. Once you’ve delivered these two little troublemakers, we’re moving back to the rear courtyard and leaving them for Mom to care for."
"How can you even suggest that?" Yi Luowa playfully scolded him with a glare, "Mom raised you three siblings, and now you want her to raise your kids too? Shame on you for even thinking that!"
"I’d gladly take care of them!" came Tong Yao’s laughter from the door.
Yi Luowa stuck out her tongue, "Husband, hurry up and open the door for Mom."
Tong Airui smiled as he opened the door, "Mom, why are you back so early?"
"Your dad came home. He called me like he was issuing an order." Tong Yao rolled her eyes as she walked inside.
"Mom, come sit over here." Yi Luowa patted the spot beside her.
Tong Yao smiled and sat down, "Rui’er inherited everything from your dad, except for this one good thing—he doesn’t guard the bed as tightly as your father did."
Yi Luowa’s lips twitched slightly. He might not guard the bed that tightly, but the moment someone leaves, he replaces the sheets.
Tong Yao took Yi Luowa’s hand, laughing, "Luowa, I overheard you and Rui’er talking about the kids just now. I don’t have much on my plate nowadays, so don’t you worry. Whether you have one, two, or more, I’ll take care of them for you."
Yi Luowa pouted, "I’d feel bad letting you bear the burden."
Tong Yao chuckled, "There’s a big team in the house. Do you think I’d be overwhelmed? When I had Rui’er and his siblings, I barely had to lift a finger. This time, I’ll personally raise them and enjoy the fun of childrearing. You two are still young. Don’t let kids hold you back—study what you need to, advance your careers. The Aodeliqi family depends on your generation to rise to the next level."
"Mom, I suddenly feel a lot of pressure." Yi Luowa leaned against Tong Yao’s shoulder and nuzzled.
Tong Yao patted her cheek with a smile, "No pressure at all! You’ve already done so well! The house soldiers and their families talk about you and Rui’er constantly. You two have done an incredible thing for them."
Yi Luowa’s cheeks turned a bright pink, "I haven’t done much. Let them focus on sticking with Dad and Tong Airui. That’s the real legacy Great-Grandfather left for us. We can’t let it fall apart under our watch—it absolutely must be passed on."
Tong Yao smiled in approval, "What a good child! When I was your age, I didn’t have this kind of vision."
"Wife, are you home?" Long Che’s voice echoed downstairs as he began searching for Tong Yao.
"I’m here." Tong Yao sighed, "Already at this age, and still so clingy!"
Following the sound of her voice, Long Che came into view, "Start packing. We’re visiting Haotian tomorrow."
Tong Airui froze, "Dad, you’re going to visit Haotian?"
