Chapter 439: Chapter 383: Want to be a Mom, I Can Help You (One More Update)

Old Dao personally took the two of them to the lab.

Yi Luowa took the urine cup handed over by Old Dao and nervously went into the restroom.

After finishing, Yi Luowa came out with tightly pressed lips.

Tong Airui, who had been waiting outside, reached out to take the urine cup when he saw her coming out.

"I’ll take it myself." Yi Luowa dodged his hand, "Honey, do you think it could really be true? I wasn’t mentally prepared for this at all."

"I’m not ready either." Tong Airui tilted his head and looked at her, "What should we do? Do we want it or not?"

"If it’s real, then of course we’d keep it! It’s a gift from heaven."

Tong Airui let out a long sigh of relief, "That’s what I was thinking too."

"But maybe it’s not even the case." Yi Luowa shook her head helplessly, "Let’s not tell the family before we’re sure, don’t want everyone getting excited over nothing."

"Mm."

Yi Luowa placed the urine cup at the lab window. Seeing the technician busy with something else, she lightly knocked on the window. "Nurse, I’ve placed the urine cup here."

The nurse turned her head to glance, "Engineer Yi, sorry about this, please wait a little; I’ll finish this test first and then get to yours."

Old Dao walked over, "Captain, why don’t you and Engineer Yi wait in my office for a bit? This test is urgent. Once it’s done, I’ll have Engineer Yi’s taken care of immediately."

Tong Airui glanced at the time, "About how long until the results?"

"Twenty minutes."

Tong Airui looked somewhat conflicted as he turned to Yi Luowa, "I’ve got a meeting to attend..."

"Go ahead, I’ll wait here for the results."

"Once you get the results, call me right away."

"Alright." Yi Luowa nodded with a smile.

Tong Airui quickly headed downstairs while Yi Luowa followed Old Dao to his office.

"I was wondering why you two came so early today. Turns out the Captain has something going on," Old Dao said with a smile as he poured a glass of water for Yi Luowa. "Engineer Yi, sorry you have to wait. It’s not office hours yet, and there are only a few on-duty doctors and nurses here, so we’re short-staffed and busy."

Yi Luowa smiled, "It’s okay, I don’t have anything urgent."

"Isn’t the car factory keeping you busy these days?" Old Dao asked as he sat down.

"Not really..."

Before Yi Luowa could finish, a male doctor pushed open the door and rushed in, "Director Dao, you’d better come quickly. The patient in the ER is vomiting blood again. The test report isn’t out yet, so we don’t dare administer any medication."

"I’ll be right there." Old Dao grabbed his stethoscope from the desk. "Engineer Yi, have a seat. I’ll go check on the patient."

"Go ahead!" Yi Luowa stood up.

Old Dao nodded apologetically and quickly walked out of the room.

As soon as Old Dao left, Yi Luowa curled up on the sofa and dozed off.

When Ruan Jiajia came in, Yi Luowa was still asleep.

Ruan Jiajia’s sharp gaze settled on Yi Luowa’s belly for a while before she reached out and poked her. "Wake up!"

Yi Luowa rubbed her eyes and looked at Ruan Jiajia in confusion.

Ruan Jiajia furrowed her brows slightly, "The test report is out."

Yi Luowa immediately perked up. "What’s the result?"

"Not pregnant." Ruan Jiajia handed a test report to her with a frown.

Yi Luowa felt a small pang of disappointment and asked suspiciously, "If I’m not pregnant, why hasn’t my period come?"

Ruan Jiajia cleared her throat, "For women of childbearing age, prolonged stress can inhibit pituitary gland function, causing the ovaries to stop producing female hormones and ovulating, which leads to irregular periods. Similarly, long-term emotional stress, depression, or bad moods can also affect menstruation. Think about it for yourself—what’s your situation?"

Yi Luowa blinked as she stared at Ruan Jiajia’s moving lips. "Thanks! I’ll think about which one applies to me when I get home."

Ruan Jiajia’s face remained stern, as if the whole world owed her something. She said coldly, "Your periods are irregular, so I’ll prescribe you some medicine. Take it as directed."

"Thanks." Yi Luowa’s lips barely moved into a smile.

Ruan Jiajia handed her a bag of medicine. "Take it on time. Stop taking it once your period starts and then resume afterward."

"Alright." Yi Luowa smiled slightly. "I’ll let Director Dao know I’m leaving. Bye."

Ruan Jiajia frowned slightly. "The director is resuscitating a patient; you’d better not disturb him!"

Yi Luowa smiled apologetically. "Alright then, I’m leaving."

Carrying the bag of medicine, Yi Luowa quickly walked out. Once she got downstairs, she called Tong Airui.

Tong Airui answered the call quickly. "Honey, did you get the results?"

Yi Luowa sighed, "Not pregnant. They said it’s a hormonal imbalance... They gave me some medicine and told us not to do that for a month."
