Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 440 - 383: Want to be a Mom, I Can Help You (First Update)_2
Yi Luowa smirked mischievously and held her phone close to her ear.
Tong Airui frowned, "Who told you that?"
"Doctor Ruan!"
"She’s talking nonsense!"
Yi Luowa covered her mouth and chuckled, "Doctor Dao said the same thing too."
"Old Dao said that too, didn’t he? Fine, I’ll cut off his food supply for a month first!" Tong Airui angrily gripped his phone.
"You’re in a meeting, aren’t you? I’ll hang up for now." Yi Luowa giggled.
"I’m in my office right now, not in a meeting." Tong Airui’s face turned livid with anger as he said, "I just got pissed off by her father, and now she’s aggravating me again. Watch how I deal with the father and daughter duo!"
"Hubby, what’s wrong? Who angered you?" Yi Luowa pouted, climbing into Mi Chenxuan’s car. "Take me to your fourth brother."
"Fourth sister-in-law, weren’t you supposed to practice driving today?"
"My fourth brother is upset, I’ll go check on him. I’ll head to the track to practice later." Yi Luowa held the phone to her ear and said, "I’ll be at your place soon, hanging up now."
"Who dared to provoke my fourth brother again?" Mi Chenxuan teased with a grin, "If you’re looking for trouble with my fourth brother, you must think you’re living too long!"
Yi Luowa glared at him, "When we see your fourth brother later, don’t exaggerate or stir the pot. He’s already in a bad mood—don’t provoke a fight with him."
"I’ll wait downstairs for you, to avoid being yelled at by my fourth brother! By the way, fourth sister-in-law, I saw you holding some medicine. Are you sick?"
"I’m not sick. I’ve just been feeling sleepy a lot lately. Your fourth brother was worried I might be ill, so he took me for a check-up." Yi Luowa glanced at the bag in her hand. "This medicine was prescribed by Doctor Ruan. I’m afraid I might end up sick from taking it when I wasn’t even ill. She’s probably wishing I’d drop dead so she can replace me!"
Mi Chenxuan laughed, "Haha... just look at her—if she tried licking my fourth brother’s shoes, he’d probably complain that her tongue’s too rough!"
Yi Luowa laughed, "You throw this medicine in the trash for me later."
"Alright, I’ll find somewhere to toss it later. Fourth sister-in-law, if you’re not feeling well, let’s go home this weekend and have my seventh brother and seventh sister-in-law take a look at you. Don’t bother with Old Dao’s team—they’re just a bunch of hack doctors."
"Hack doctors?"
Mi Chenxuan curled his lip, "When it’s free, how good can the doctors be?"
"It’s free? No wonder I just walked out with the medicine without them asking for payment."
"Didn’t you say she gave you poison? What payment would poison require? Hahaha..."
Yi Luowa laughed out loud, "We’re here. Wait for me a moment; I need to smooth over my fourth brother’s mood, then I’ll come down."
Mi Chenxuan laughed, "Give him a sweet ’hubby,’ bat your eyes at him flirtatiously, and my fourth brother’s mood will instantly be fixed."
Yi Luowa reached up to knock him on the head, laughing as she opened the car door and got out.
Tong Airui was already waiting by the office door. When he saw Yi Luowa come upstairs, he quickly stepped forward to meet her. "Honey, when will the blood test results be ready?"
Yi Luowa froze for a moment, "I forgot about the blood test."
Tong Airui’s face darkened immediately.
Yi Luowa laughed awkwardly, "It’s not that I forgot; Doctor Dao was busy saving a patient, so I didn’t want to disturb him. If you insist I take the blood test, let’s go to the family hospital this weekend for it."
"That works. Let’s have Shanshan do a full check-up for you..."
"Ruan Dawang, you old coward, I, Colin, am not afraid of danger! This time, I’ll go!" Colin’s voice rang out from the conference room.
"I’m not afraid either! But if I’m gone handling that mess, can you manage everything at home, or can he?" Ruan Dawang wasn’t going to back down and shouted in return.
Tong Airui raised an eyebrow slightly and pulled Yi Luowa into his office.
"Where are they going? Didn’t hear about any fighting breaking out," Yi Luowa asked suspiciously.
"There’s no fighting; it’s about transferring defense at the western border."
"Why send a deputy squad leader for that?"
"The western border has been unstable these past few months. They want to send a deputy squad leader to intimidate them."
Yi Luowa saw through Tong Airui’s thoughts in one glance, "You want Ruan Dawang to go, but he’s refusing, so now you’re upset? Haha... you petty man. What’s there to be upset about? You should think about Deputy Leader Ruan’s situation. If he steps away, the authority he holds will have to transfer to someone else. When he returns, he’ll probably end up as a powerless old man."
Tong Airui gave her a sharp look, "Can we not make it sound so obvious?"
"It’s just the two of us here." Yi Luowa giggled, "When’s the defense transfer happening?"
"In half a month."
Yi Luowa’s dark eyes glimmered with mischief, "There’s still half a month left, let them squabble it out."
Tong Airui shook his head disapprovingly, "They’ve been squabbling for a lifetime without any resolution."
Yi Luowa crooked her finger at him.
Tong Airui bent down.
Yi Luowa whispered a few words into his ear.
After hearing her suggestion, Tong Airui pinched her nose, "Where do you come up with so many sneaky ideas?"
"As long as it solves the problem!" Yi Luowa laughed.
"You don’t understand him. He’s extremely cautious—finding fault in his actions is almost impossible."
"Get Youyou to watch him for a few days; maybe it’ll work." 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
"Having Youyou monitor him is risky..."
"If your own people do it, the risk is even greater. If that old man figures out your people are spying on him, he’ll seize the opportunity to stir up a major scandal against you." Yi Luowa pouted, "Besides, your people don’t necessarily have Youyou’s skills."
"I’ll think about it." Tong Airui raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Think about it carefully, then!" Yi Luowa smiled, "Hubby, I wanted to ask you something. Once I ask, I’ll go practice driving. Dapeng and the others are still waiting for me."
"What is it? Go ahead and ask."
Yi Luowa wrinkled her nose, "If I didn’t get pregnant, would you be even a tiny bit disappointed?"
Tong Airui furrowed his brow slightly, "How should I put it—my mood wasn’t great to begin with, and after your call, it got worse. But if I were to feel disappointment, it’s only momentary. Not having a baby is fine too. Once we’re ready, we’ll have a little one that looks like you."
Yi Luowa pressed her lips together, "When I first found out, I felt an indescribable emptiness. But after chatting with you, I feel much better."
"Starting to feel ready to be a mom?" Tong Airui smiled and patted her head.
"Eh... it’s all about timing—it’s not something I can control even if I want it." Yi Luowa smiled and pecked him on the cheek. "Alright, talk later—I’m off!"
Tong Airui pulled her back just as she reached the door. "Honey, if you really want to be a mom, I can help you with that."
"Haha... stop it!" Yi Luowa laughed, batting his hand away. "I’m leaving now—but seriously, think over what I mentioned."
"Alright, I’ll consider it carefully." Tong Airui smiled and watched her enter the stairwell before turning back into his office.
Yi Luowa headed to the track and practiced with the others for a while. For some reason, she couldn’t fully concentrate today.
Before lunch, the race organizers called her to say next week’s forecast predicted constant rain, so they’d moved the competition to this weekend.
After ending the call, she phoned her mother-in-law.
Tong Yao, hearing that Yi Luowa couldn’t visit because of the race, felt a bit disappointed but didn’t say much.
After hanging up, Yi Luowa started feeling drowsy again. She wanted to nap but didn’t want to hold up the team’s training, so she forced herself off the car.
Dapeng noticed her yawning repeatedly and joked, "Fourth sister-in-law, why don’t you go take a nap? We’ll handle our practices ourselves."
Yi Luowa smiled, "The competition was moved up, so I’ll stick with you all for practice. Let’s crush your fifth brother again and send him crying to the corner!"
