Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 339 - 305: Do We Have a Target Now? (First Update)
Tong Aino shot her a glare and dragged Connie back to the room.
Yi Luowa shouted toward the door, "Ai Ni, what are you laughing at?"
"My fifth brother is wearing my fifth sister-in-law’s pajamas. Hahaha..." Tong Ai Ni laughed while closing the door for Yi Luowa, then grabbed You Jia’s hand and asked, "Why did you leave and then come back again? You came back and didn’t even let me know!"
"Wanted to surprise you." You Jia smiled and rubbed her head. "The son of Emperor Haotian has been ill for so long, and we haven’t gone to visit him. Tomorrow, John, Leon, and I will head to Haotian. We’ve decided to meet here, then go together."
"How many days will you be in Haotian?"
"One day."
"And then?"
"I’ll listen to you."
Tong Ai Ni pursed her lips, "So you’ll really listen to me?"
You Jia smiled and nodded.
"Then don’t go, stay here with me." Tong Ai Ni tilted her head and asked, "Can you?"
You Jia smiled dotingly, "Staying here for two months isn’t realistic, but a week should be doable."
"Really?" Tong Ai Ni giggled and leaned onto You Jia’s back, "Carry me."
You Jia picked her up on his back, and the two of them joked and walked back to the bedroom.
Tong Airui listened until it was quiet outside. Then, holding Yi Luowa, he walked to the door, locked it, and turned around to pin her between himself and the doorframe.
Yi Luowa wrapped her arms around his neck, smiling brightly as she looked up at him.
Tong Airui leaned in and kissed her soft pink lips...
Yi Luowa couldn’t remember what time she fell asleep, but by the time she woke up, the sun was already high in the sky. The bed beside her was empty! As she touched Tong Airui’s pillow, she thought to herself, was last night just a dream?!
Yi Luowa quickly got herself ready and rushed out the door.
Tong Ai Ni was currently standing by the staircase to the third floor, looking up. Seeing her come out, she pointed upward. "My brother’s upstairs."
"Oh, I thought he left again." Yi Luowa breathed a sigh of relief.
"Leon and John are here, they’re upstairs discussing something," Tong Ai Ni walked over and said.
Yi Luowa whispered, "Is something wrong?"
"My brother didn’t tell you?" Tong Ai Ni glanced at her, smiled knowingly, and said, "My brother must’ve been too busy getting cozy with you to have time to talk about this."
Yi Luowa smacked her on the arm, "Stop teasing me! What’s going on?"
"I heard Emperor Haotian’s son isn’t going to make it. You Jia and the others are going to visit him. My brother came back because of this, too. The northern border needs reinforcements."
Yi Luowa frowned slightly, "If the Haotian Prince dies, Emperor Haotian will have no heir left. Those restless factions might take this opportunity to attack Emperor Haotian, and the citizens of Haotian will suffer again. With Summeru being so close to Haotian, the flames of war could easily reach us."
Tong Ai Ni nodded, "You Jia says the same."
"With the princes from several countries heading there, those restless factions might slow down their plans. Once your brother finishes the deployments, even if there’s conflict, we won’t have to worry."
Yi Luowa’s heart inexplicably turned into a tangle of knots. She hated the thought of war. Casting a worried glance toward the third floor, she followed Tong Ai Ni downstairs.
Just as the two of them reached the bottom, Connie came down sluggishly.
Tong Ai Ni and Yi Luowa looked at her and burst into laughter.
Connie pouted, "Stop laughing! It’s all your fault, leaving me with a wolf."
"If you didn’t cooperate with him, would he dare? Haha... Just admit you wanted it too!" Yi Luowa laughed and said, "Where’s your fifth brother?"
Connie snorted, "He got up early and went upstairs to work out."
"Good morning, everyone! What are you talking about? You seem so happy!" Joyina hopped down from upstairs.
"Talking about things kids don’t understand!" Tong Ai Ni teased. "Where’d you sleep last night?"
Joyina froze in place for a second, then grinned sheepishly, "I wanted to chat with Mi Chenshuo for a bit, but ended up dozing off on the couch. This morning, Mi Chenshuo complained about me like crazy, saying I slept like a pig and couldn’t wake up no matter what."
Tong Ai Ni chuckled, "My third brother’s totally right! I went to see him this morning, pinched your nose, and you still didn’t wake up."
Joyina rubbed her nose and pouted, "No wonder my nose hurts so much. Ai Ni, can you stop treating me like a kid all the time? Yi Luowa is only a year older than me, and Connie is just two years older. I’m an adult now, not a child!"
Tong Ai Ni nodded repeatedly, "Mmhmm! You’re an adult! So, when are you planning to get married?"
"Whenever I meet the right person, I’m ready to go!" Joyina giggled gleefully.
