Chapter 94: Confirming the Transcendents’ Locations

Jamie slipped into an alleyway and emerged from the other side with the appearance of a factory worker dressed in a jumpsuit, holding a toolbox (filled with random stuff) and made his way towards the factory sector.

He easily blended in with the sea of jumpsuit-wearing men and women who moved towards the Sector gates.

"ID"

"Here, sir."

"Hmm? All good."

The security gave him back his fake ID without verifying it, something that his colleague noticed and called him out on.

"You didn’t check that guy with the system."

"No worries, I know that one."

Despite being under a compulsion effect, the man acted normal and replied nonchalantly, waving off his colleague before going on with his job.

After successfully entering the Sector, Jamie spent the next fifteen minutes using his extra sensory perception to scan the dozens of facilities here, spotting a transcendent in the administrative area.

"One of the Zotovians who switched sides, huh? Three confirmed. That leaves two more.

The Storage Sector is valuable, but I’d check out the Power Sector first."

Jamie then slipped back into the disguise of the Elf Colonel and went over to the Power Sector, claiming to be present for a routine inspection.

The elf indeed had on scheduled for that morning, after all.

During his inspection, he encountered another transcendent there, overseeing the repairs on a particular transformer grid and saluted the female elf, before moving on.

’So close to me, yet she did not notice a thing. As expected of me.’

He tooted his own horn, marking down the fourth transcendent on his notepad, along with the details of what he was there to inspect.

After he was done, he headed towards the three military facilities encircling the Void Gate Facility and submitted his report to the Brigadier General there.

"That’s all. You are dismissed."

The woman spoke as she went through the documents, but after noticing Jamie was till standing there, she looked up at him with a questioning gaze.

"Is there anything else?"

"Indeed. [I was wondering If you’d be so kind as to bring me along with you to the Void Gate Facility]."

Jamie’s voice carried an allure with it that left her dazed for a moment. She snapped out of it right after, before replying.

"Just that? You could have said so from the start."

Like so, she got up from her seat and picked up her jacket, before turning to Jamie and speaking.

"Follow me."

"Yes, Madam."

Jamie trailed after her with a smile, and together they entered her private vehicle that drove over to the main Facility gates.

The driver was initially confused why Jamie was together with the Brigadier General, but all it took was a finger snap to make him see it as normal.

Unlike his Vampiric Charm and Compulsion abilities that were effects of his Hybrid status, his Hypnosis was something he developed on his own.

In situations like this, he used a mix of the three to get things done, unlike Miranda who favoured using Compulsion alone.

"Well, even without that. Her charm is enough to make most people do her bidding of their own volition."

"Did you say something?"

"Was just remarking on how much of a charming person you are, madam."

Jamie shamelessly replied to the General with a smile, making a faint blush to creep up her cheeks. She quickly regained herself and turned away with a huff.

"Flattering me would get you nothing."

"Oh my, why would you believe it was flattery? I was merely speaking the truth."

He wasn’t lying when he said that, as the woman was indeed pretty. Leaving aside her elven beauty, one’s appearance usually got better and more refined when they ascended existence realms.

Except for special cases like with races grouped as ’Monsters’ like Goblins and Orcs, that is.

Jamie engaged the Elven General in small talk, finding out the time the next shipment of cargo was to be sent to the ERE zone, which turned out to be quite soon, meaning he needed to act fast.

’Now then. The one at the Central Sector today does not have a draconic aura so it’s probably the other Zotovian.

One dragon is in the Pleasure Sector. The Elf is in the Power Sector, then the second Zotovian Human is in the Factory Sector.

This leaves the other Dragon who is unaccounted for.’

With those thoughts, Jamie turned towards the woman and asked.

"Madam, do you happen to know where the Lieutenant is?"

When he said ’Lieutenant’, the woman instantly figured he was asking about the Dragons, so she narrowed her eyes and asked.

"Which one?"

"Definitely not the one who is always in ’that sector’."

It seemed that the Elven transcendent had a feud with one of Ikerth’s Lieutenants, and said feud was well known to the higher ups in the military.

The Elves in turn, always treated the Dragons under that Lieutenant’s division with derisive attitudes.

"Oh, the other one? Not so sure.

Maybe he’s the one who’s at the Research Facility today?"

"Research Division?"

Something Jamie had not heard from Dornik and Miranda came up, and the man quickly turned up his vampiric charm before asking.

"Mind telling me more?"

"Ah, that’s information for the Generals alone. Why did I even mention it in the first place?"

Jamie sighed softly, before holding the elf’s chin and turning her face towards him.

"Huh? What are y—?"

"Mind telling me more?"

"Okay, I will. Just move away a bit."

One compulsion later, and the woman who had initially refused to break protocol was now spilling the details of their confidential research; at least what she knew.

Apparently, there was a Research Facility somewhere inside the Void Gate Facility, where they conducted research and experiments with Ruindeum and other Zotovian natural resources the Dragons extracted.

"It seems one of the Great Spirit Kings who is in business with His Excellency Ikerth has a need for something from Zotov that isn’t Ruindeum.

In fact, its like the spirits don’t care about the Ruindeum at all, and are more concerned with some localized terraform experiments.

I don’t know much about the details since I’m not part of them, though."

She finished her words with a shrug, looking out the window to see that they had arrived at the Void Gate Facility administrative building.

"Let’s go."

After getting out of the car, it then occurred to her that she never really asked the reason Jamie wanted to be there.

However, just as she was about to ask Jamie, one of the Dragon Sovereign realms spotted her and called out to her.

"Gek! Let’s go quickly."
