Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 93: Void City
This Military Metropolis that was Void city was one with soldiers stationed all around, while Jamie’s target—the Void Gate—was located in the enormous facility in the central sector.
The Void Gate Facility was the city’s centre of power and control, where the highest ranked personnel of the armies here resided.
This military stronghold bustled with activity, teeming with dragons, elves, beast people and some giants.
Majority of the dragons who were in their humanoid forms wore similar uniforms, showing that they were part of Ikerth’s dragon army while the other races also wore uniforms of their respective affiliations.
Even though there were some humans dressed in uniform, the vast bulk of the humans there appeared to be members of the working class.
It appeared that the indigenous inhabitants of Zotov were not treated as harshly as those found in other parts of the continent, at least not in comparison.
Occupying the city’s airspace, were dragons and wyverns engaging in casual flights, while some others moved on vigilant patrols.
The city’s architecture sprawled across various sectors, with the Forging Sector adjacent to the Factory Sector, where Ruindeum, the mined resource, underwent processing amid billowing factory smoke.
The sheer density of universal law energy emanating from the factory sector was enough to tell Jamie what was going on there.
At the Forging sector, the processed Ruindeum was now given to blacksmiths who transformed the metal into weapons and other equipment for use and sale.
Another sector, the Storage Sector, was there the processed metals were stored for interstellar export in the form of Ruindeum bars. They were moved from there to the other facilities located elsewhere on the continent, where their cargo star crafts were docked.
Distinct sectors, including recreational, pleasure, housing, and power, delineated the city’s functionality.
The sheer amount of electric energy being generated from the power sector was enough to send shivers down the spines of any Transcendents who visited her for the first time.
It was truly enough energy to power a continent.
At the Central Sector of the city, was where the soldiers’ barracks were, as well as the Void Gate Facility.
The Void Gate Facility consisted of a massive set of buildings covering over a hundred square kilometres in area, encircled by three rings of other military facilities.
Each one deployed multi-layered barriers that were powered by what could only be called a Mini-Power Sector in the Void Gate Facility.
The millions of joules of magic and universal law energy refined for use in the barriers here was directly sourced from the ERE zone at the other end of the Void Gate.
Jamie observed the city for a day first, noting that the auras of multiple Transcendent Realm existences, infused with portions of their consciousnesses swept across the city at all times and kept watch on every corner.
A second day’s observation showed that the owners of these auras changed every day, showing that the transcendents took shifts on watching.
After this, Jamie then proceeded to restrict his spatial perception, as going in there with it at full effectiveness was the same as announcing his presence to the Transcendents there.
When he arrived at the Dark Haven Airstrip back in Nocturna on Estea, his spatial perception had eclipsed that of every Sovereign present, preventing them from sensing anything no matter how hard they tried.
Even non-spatial sensory perception methods were also affected.
So, Jamie had to limit and fine tune his so he did not set off any alarms, while also keeping it up large enough for him to get a real time 3D image of the area around him.
With that done, he casually teleported into the midst of some soldiers who were in a truck driving into the city, snapping his fingers and Hypnotizing every one of them to not find his presence strange.
He then proceeded to change from his suit, into one of the soldier’s spare uniforms, changing the name tag to his and entering the city like normal.
He replicated their IDs with a wisp of the law of creation’s powers, so when they were asked for verification, he showed the fake ID and was allowed to enter.
One look at the gate security was enough to make the woman forget about checking if the ID was actually valid.
The combination of his Vampiric Charm + a Handsome face that would make even Adonis jealous really did wonders.
After entering the city normally, Jamie was able to spot a few more races that he did not see when he observed from afar.
’There are vampires, and werewolves here as well. But I doubt they are from any clans I’m familiar with, if not, Mira would have told me.’
Miranda knew Jamie would rather not beat or kill the clan members of his friends so if there was anyone like that here, she would have informed him.
Just like she did when he beat the living daylights out of the Transcendent Werewolf who rampaged and turned the Southern Half of the Neutral Continent to the Cresway Isles.
The poor dude’s only saving grace was that he was from the Scott Clan.
That aside, Jamie moved about in the city like a normal soldier, even joining their evening parade for the fun of it and going to dinner together with them.
After a good night’s sleep that was frankly unnecessary for him, he decided to continue his mission, and this time, he impersonated a higher ranked military officer.
He first of all snuck into the private quarters of the person in question, and Inferior Stage Sovereign Colonel, and knocked the elf unconscious.
Jamie did not kill him since the man might’ve had some sort of vitality detection on him, linked to somewhere where his vitals were being monitored.
If he killed the man, then it would set off alarms and raise their vigilance; this was also why he did not go in the night, as that was the time one would normally expect spies to sneak in so they’d be more on guard.
With a little bit of body transformation, Jamie looked like the Elf he had captured, and after reading the man’s memories, he knew how to act just like the man.
Now, he set out to confirm the locations of the Five Transcendents who were meant to be in this city.
It did not take him too long to find the first, one of the two dragons.
"The Pleasure Sector, huh? I guess there’s always that one who likes to indulge himself."
Jamie muttered while shaking his head as he slid his body to the side, avoiding the arms of the courtesan about to hug him before teleporting out of the sector.
"The Major Sectors of the city are the Forging, Factory, Storage and Power.
I can sense the aura of the transcendent watching today coming from the Central Sector so that confirms the locations of two."
