Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 89: Meeting the Argent Monarchs
Due to Miranda’s many titles, it was a bit difficult for people to connect some things to her.
[’Iridescent Versatile’
’Amber Sword’
’Golden Magician’
’Crimson Alchemist’
’Violet Inferno’
’Azure Void Paragon’
Those are the titles the Estean Hybrids are commonly known by in the Interstellar World, but surprisingly, these titles are not that popular on Estea itself.
Things like that happen.]
[Also, Miranda is the ’Violet Inferno’ here. One of the only Six complete Hybrids who exist in our universe.
As for the man who’s with her. He’s most definitely the ’Perfect Hybrid’. Or the one most people know as ’THE’ Hybrid.
When people hear Estea and Hybrid, he’s the one people think about first.]
Hearing her words, Dornik didn’t need to think too much to figure out which of the ’Six titles’ belonged to him.
The ’Azure’ and ’Void’ were dead giveaways, after all.
[Do you have a picture of him with you?]
Dornik generated a projection of Jamie’s appearance and the Race Kings nodded in affirmation, once again confirming it was the same person they were talking about.
[His name is Jamie Westley.
And from his last name, you can tell he is connected to Estea’s Westley Werewolves. He’s also the elder sibling of the two most powerful Westley Wolf Siblings we mentioned before.]
Silence pervaded the area after the person speaking stopped, and then as if they planned on it beforehand, all the Race Kings turned towards Dornik with sympathetic eyes.
"...why are you all looking at me strangely?"
[...well. Both Lord Jamie and Lady Miranda are in your world, so uh...I can only offer you my condolences.]
[Yeah. They wouldn’t actually destroy your planet or anything, but the stress you can get from dealing with them might make you wish for destruction instead.]
They had almost concluded that Dornik was in deep waters when someone who just joined the video conference spoke.
[Guys, don’t forget this is the world Ikerth is invading.
That guy hates Jamie’s guts for some reason only they know, so they might be there to mess Ikerth up.]
[Hmm...that’s true.
Oh well, it doesn’t really concern us if he messes with Ikerth. No one here likes that lizard anyway. Why else would we be supplying you with Anti-Dragon weapons to deal with him.]
Thankfully, the Dragons who were part of this group were offline, otherwise, a different kind of war would have started just now.
But besides that, the source of Dornik’s weapons was revealed to be this group of Race Kings.
[Anyway, Jamie would be too busy dealing with Ikerth’s army to make any fuss in your world. Hope that’s the case.]
The speaker suddenly went silent for a moment, glancing to his left side before speaking a moment after.
[My wife’s calling me now, so I need to book out.]
[Say Hello to her for me.]
[If you want to talk to her you can come over to my house, we’re literally neighbours.]
[...dude, I’m in a totally different star system from you.]
[Yeah, the star system right next to the one I’m in. We’re ’Neighbours’.]
All the Race Kings went silent as they looked at their colleague who had just spoken, and even his wife’s brother was also dumbfounded by his brother-in-law’s words.
[...he’s got a point though.]
[Have you looked at the definition of the word ’Neighbour’ in the dictionary lately?!]
[I wrote the most popular dictionary in the galaxy; the definitions can be whatever I want.]
Dornik silently stepped out of the room without ending the video conference, leaving the Race Kings to continue their banter.
He had learned from experience that trying to end their conversations was not something within his capacity.
Instead, he busied himself with thoughts of the meeting he was about to have with Jamie and Miranda in a few hours.
◇ ◇ ◇
Regardless of Dornik’s wishes, time moved forward and eventually, the time of the meeting arrived.
The air in the Liberation Front HQ was very tense, but this was to be expected given the recent news they all received.
First off, was that the number of Special Grade threats had increased from 2 to 3. Secondly, two of said beings were going to be visiting their HQ in a few hours.
It’d be stranger if things were normal.
Besides the Commanders who were on the frontlines to prevent any unexpected attacks and the ones dispatched to Oyend to handle the issues there, all other First-Class commanders of the Liberation Front were present.
Dornik remained on his seat at the head of the long conference table, with the strongest First-Class commanders present on his both sides.
The other higher-ups of the Liberation Front stood around the table, murmuring amongst themselves when suddenly, a slightly amused voice rang out.
"Well, this is quite the welcome."
And just like that, faster than they could even blink, there was a blue-eyed suit-wearing man seated on the chair right opposite Dornik at the conference table.
He seamlessly teleported into the room, bypassing all of the anti-teleportation formations and security systems that they had in place to prevent such a situation.
Seated beside him, was his purple-silver-haired woman, wearing a simple one-piece and a sun hat which she took off before waving at Dornik.
"Hello. Been a while."
After greeting him, she tossed the hat up into the air and let it fall back into her subspace.
"Indeed, it has been."
Dornik calmly replied, before sending word to have the watchers he kept outside dismissed, all while keeping his gaze on the couple in front of him.
As for the First-Class commanders beside him, they looked at the silver couple with newfound fear and awe, having just been informed about who they really were by Dornik.
However, what stood out to them the most, was the fact that they were the Emperor and Empress of the Argent Empire.
An Empire that had one of the greatest interstellar colonies in the history of the Vela Galaxy, seconded only by the Aeternum Solar system’s Estea.
To think that they were in front of the founders of such an Empire.
"I see, now it makes sense."
Jamie’s sudden words snapped them out of their thoughts, and they looked at him with confused gazes, not knowing what he was talking about.
The man ignored them and turned to Miranda before speaking.
"You said he’d become unnaturally wary of you after your second meeting, right?"
He gestured to Dornik as he spoke, and when Mirada nodded, Jamie stood up and took a ’step’ forward.
Appearing in front of one of the Second-Class combatants who was standing, he unsheathed the man’s sword and pointed it in Miranda’s direction.
"Nice craftsmanship, don’t you think?"
"Yeah...it is. Especially for an Anti-Dragon weapon not created with race factors."
"Exactly."
Jamie walked closer to her, ignoring the dumbfounded combatant and then flipped the sword around, holding the blade and showing her the pommel of the sword.
"Look familiar?"
Miranda noticed an inscription on the weapon, looking closer to see it was a drawing of a Hammer with Five stars around it, sticking out of a pile of gemstones.
"Ain’t that Yugnot’s crest?"
She quickly identified the person who owned the crest, realisation flashing through her eyes as a lot of things began to make sense. Turning to Dornik, she asked.
"You know Yugnot? If you did, why didn’t you say so from the start? Where is he now? It’s been close to a millennium since I last spoke to him."
She casually spoke of a time period that was three times the lifespans of most of the people in the room at the moment.
As for Dornik, the man moved his gaze to the weapon in Jamie’s hand, before turning back to Miranda and replying.
"Unfortunately, I do not think I am aware of the person you speak of."
"Huh? But your weapons are clearly made by him. Dwarf Race King Yugnot Oregut."
Miranda’s words revealed to all of them present that they were wielding weapons created by a being as powerful as Dragon King Ikerth, and suddenly, the swords and spears felt a lot heavier in their hands.
"If the crest is there, then it’s either he personally gave you the weapons, or you got them from someone he knows.
Who was it? It’s probably someone I know as well."
Just as she queried Dornik, a surge of energy suddenly erupted from Jamie’s body, along with the activation of his Pseudo-Authority of Knowledge.
"You’re asking too many questions, Mira."
The man scanned the weapon with his authority and found out all he wanted to know, before sheathing the sword back and returning to his seat.
"It passed through many hands but from what I saw, it’s probably Demon Race King."
He shrugged his shoulders as he spoke, like he could not really care less about the issue.
"Let’s get down to the main reason we are here now, shall we?"
His words changed the atmosphere in the room, and everyone turned their gazes towards him, even those who were admiring their weapons.
Staring right at Dornik, he spoke.
"Dornik Sarzeiros, right? Nice to meet you. I’m Jamie Westley."
