Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 88: Dornik’s Secret Contacts
Unknown Hidden Room
Liberation Front Headquarters
Borseau Central Area, Alenlet.
January 19th
Year 2018
Dornik Sarzeiros switched off the communicator in his hands and put it into his pocket after listening to the report from the First-Class commanders, running a hand through his hair as he stepped into this room.
No member of the Liberation Front knew of this place’s existence besides him, not even his most trusted Commanders.
It was a fairly large circular room, with multiple screens floating around in front of the walls.
The man took a deep breath and released the restraints on himself—the ones he used to suppress his power to the realm of transcendence.
It only took a minute for his aura to surge back to its original level which was on par with that of a Junior Race Lord.
The fact that he was actually a being above transcendence was something many First-Class commanders suspected but never had any proof to back up their suspicions.
Too bad they weren’t able to see this scene.
Dornik used his energy and poured it into the device in the middle of the room, something that looked like a square-shaped CPU, powering it up before tapping a few things on the floating keyboard that appeared after.
He waited in silence for close to ten minutes, until the device began making a constant whirring noise.
The screens around him all lit up one by one; some remained blank, some had a default user icon on them, while others had images of different men and women on them.
[It’s one thing if you called one person...but you called all of us at once? What is the matter?]
One of the men displayed on the screens spoke, and right after, the person who was displayed beside him also chipped in.
[It better not be something trivial.]
Despite the gazes of annoyance coming his way, Dornik remained calm and spoke.
"I have a question to ask. It’s about the ’Special Grade Threat’ Miranda Scott."
Hearing the name he called, the expressions of disinterest on the faces of some of them disappeared, and some of the blank screens even lit up as the people on the other ends were now intrigued.
[Firstly, if you have anything higher than ’Special Grade’, do well to put Miranda above it.]
One of them made a silly little joke to which some others chuckled, but their eyes never left Dornik as they awaited his questions.
"Yesterday, using the mass-produced anti-dragon weapons, we launched an attack on Oyend and successfully took over its largest Dragon Outpost.
During that battle, Miranda Scott made an appearance an-"
[Hold on a sec! Miranda’s on Zotov?]
"...Yes."
[...that doesn’t make any sense.]
Dornik saw expressions of incredulity appear on the faces of all those on the screens, even the ones who were just joining were also baffled as if the very notion of Miranda being on Planet Zotov was an impossibility.
"And how does it not make any sense, Your Excellencies?"
With the way Dornik addressed them, it was clear that every single person behind these screens was a ’Race King/Queen’, and there were over a dozen of them.
This meant that Dornik was secretly in contact with over a dozen Race Rulers, with no one on Zotov being in the know, not even Race King Terrion himself.
[Oh well, there’s quite a distance of over 1000 lightyears from you so it’d take a while before the news reaches you.
Things are happening on Estea right now.]
[Rumours of a certain person’s revival are going around, and their re-entry into the world. There are supposedly even some ’confirmed sightings’ of him.]
[It’s not supposedly. Think about the location; Estudiam. And a projection of the Blue Moon Castle that has been missing for 5000 years reappeared for a few minutes before disappearing.]
The Race kings spoke amongst each other while Dornik simply remained silent, noting down every single word they said.
More often than not, these beings discussed information that could be considered very sensitive during these calls, and sometimes the information helped him mount defences against Ikerth’s forces and their bids to take over some of Alenlet’s islands.
And now, this appeared to be a similar case of them discussing something serious that may concern Miranda, and his world as well.
[The reports from my Transcendent Subordinates who were in Fransokyo said they sensed surges of knowledge and time law energies.]
One of the Elven Race Kings spoke while her display went blank for a moment. She then reappeared holding a tablet, scrolling through it as she continued.
[If I had to take a guess, then someone was using retrocognition on the area.
If you were to sleep for over ten thousand years, only to wake up and see your castle is missing, you’d want to find out why, wouldn’t you?
From what I’m reading here, he was sighted in the Human race’s territory as well.]
’Castle, Sleeping for 10,000 years? Did some old monster wake up from their slumber recently?’
Dornik tried to make sense of the things they were saying when another Race King spoke up to pull their attention back to the main issue.
[Wait up guys, this is not the issue. The issue is that it’s weird for Lady Miranda to be on Zotov considering all that’s going on.]
[Indeed. Normally, she’d be the first person to be there the moment he woke up. Heck, I even thought she’d be the one to do it.
I can still remember the last time she dragged me along just so she could gush about how good her relationship was. It hurt twice as much since I just had a breakup.]
One of the women there muttered with an annoyed tone, and the others found it hard not to laugh at her little story.
It was here that Dornik decided to speak up.
"From all you’ve said, it seems that that woman has someone she’s in a relationship with, and there’s no way she’d be away from this person since he’s just waking up from a 10,000-year slumber, right?"
[Indeed.]
Dornik thought about the report he received, about the person with Miranda, before asking another question.
"Does this person perhaps happen to be a silver-haired and Blue-eyed man?"
When he asked that, the expressions of all the Race Kings changed and they simultaneously drew closer to their screens. The Elven Race Queen from earlier put down the tab in her hand before asking the most important question.
[Was he wearing a suit?]
Dornik did not understand why that mattered, but he recalled that the person in the description was indeed wearing a suit so he replied positively.
"Yes, He was."
[Yep, that’s your guy.]
[Definitely him]
[Couldn’t be anyone else.]
[He always wears suits 24/7.]
[More like, 25/7]
[Dude, your section of the galaxy is very strange for having 25 hours a day.]
[Yeah, get out of here, strange person.]
[...this is bullying]
[You think he’s strange? What about that planet with 40 hours a day?!]
[That planet is about to die...]
[Definitely...it’s burning out.]
[Poor planet.]
[Billions are gonna die.]
It was very weird for Dornik how they went from very serious, to playful, picking on one of themselves, only to enter sombre moods all in the span of one minute.
The way they acted certainly didn’t fit the image of ’Race Kings’ and ’Queens’ that people had at all.
[Anyway, back to Miranda’s issue.
The person who’s with her is most likely the one we’re talking about.]
[I doubt Miranda would ever be close to any man who fits that description besides ’him’.]
"So, if I may ask, who’s this man? What’s his identity that even one of Ikerth’s Lieutenants was scared of him?"
Dornik asked the most important question, but even though he had not gotten an answer, he could already feel a headache coming from having to deal with a second ’Miranda-level’ person.
[How should we explain this...? Ah!
Do you know the Legends of the Estean Hybrids?]
When the Elven RQ asked him this, Dornik replied calmly with a slightly confused expression on his face.
"Is there anyone in this Galaxy who does not know about the Estean Hybrids?"
[Good.
Did you also know that Miranda Scott is one of the said Hybrids?]
"Huh?! She’s not a Werewolf?!"
All this while, Dornik believed Miranda to be one of the ancestors of the Estean Werewolves, and her title; ’Odd Eyed Wolf goddess’ only seemed to confirm this to him.
But now he was hearing she was a totally different story.
[She was born a werewolf but was later turned into a Hybrid.
Most people assume she’s ’just a werewolf’ because of her titles, but the woman is known by many names and epithets, and people assume what she is based on the ones they know of.]
Dornik went silent when he heard the Elf’s words, and after considering it for a moment, he realised it was true.
This was the case for many long-lived beings who took on many ’faces’ during their lives. Even more so for Miranda who had many titles attached to her name, and had the habit of using different titles depending on the situation.
