Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 86: Jamie used ‘Imperial Privilege’: It was Super Devastating
Jamie spoke with a grin on his face, twirling a ring of energy around two of his fingers as he continued.
"It’s a sound-based technique. There are other laws involved, but it’s primarily sound.
As far as the words of my explanation reach your ears, then the techniques I explained would have their speed, efficiency and power increased, whilst their energy consumption and your resistance to them decreases in turn."
The Hybrid raised his arm once more and sent out another spatial slash, one that Juene was not foolish enough to sit back and let it hit him.
However—
**SWISH!!
The Half-Giant jumped back and tried to dodge, but his whole body felt sluggish like he was tied down by an enormous burden. The space around him seemed constricted around his body and made it harder for him to move.
Due to this, he could not escape the slash’s range fast enough and had a long diagonal cut mar his chest in the next second.
Blood dripped from the wound and poured onto the ground, along with a few bone fragments. More of the crimson liquid seeped out of Juene’s lips and a dumbfounded expression adorned his face.
"Ah, I didn’t mention the last part, didn’t I? For anyone affected by this technique, dodging the explained attacks becomes ’Harder’."
"That’s bullshit!!"
The Half-Giant who heard his words could not help but curse out loud. How the heck was that a sound-based technique?
"Indeed, it is."
Juene’s infuriation only seemed to increase when Jamie agreed with him.
"At this point, I can’t lie and say it’s ’just sound’ anymore."
As the Hybrid chuckled, the space around him began distorting, the earth quivered, the sky shook, and the World itself trembled.
Miranda who was rounding up Brambus in the air, suddenly gasped in shock as she turned in Jamie’s direction, an expression of pure disbelief on her face.
"This is what he meant when he said he was going to become a Sovereign today?!"
In Jamie’s field of vision, a series of diaphanous notification boards carrying system messages began appearing.
|Incorrect Skill Grade Detected|
|Recalculating Existential Records...|
|Discerning Existence Type...|
|Discerning Correct Skill Grade|
’Force Skill Grade: Unique Series.’
The man gave a command using the power of his Pseudo Authority of Knowledge and the system went silent for a moment. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
|Force Command Accepted. |
|Skill Tab Unchanged|
Thankfully, there were no complications so Jamie could proceed as he wished without interruptions.
"The power to create, shape and manipulate forces and matter to accomplish remarkable feats, derived from the user’s force of will."
Jamie walked toward the wounded Half Giant who was frozen in space and could not move, raising his right arm and slowly covering it with both spatial law power and the strange crimson energy he gathered earlier.
"With it, it is possible to control forms of matter and surrounding energies and elements of my choosing.
But to anyone without it, it indeed sounds like Bullshit."
The man chuckled as he could understand Jeune’s earlier reaction. He also had the same reaction when he first discovered such a power existed.
A tinge of red seemed to appear in his clear blue eyes, glowing with a vibrant hue as he continued.
"It’s quite hard to control it, but my status as an ’Envoy of Balance’ allows me to be able to use this power without much complications.
Oh...me telling you that also increases the efficiency of what I’m about to do. Both to you..."
Looking up from Jeune, and to the thousands of dragons who were fighting against Liberation Front soldiers behind him, Jamie concluded.
"...And to every other dragon behind you."
For the first time since Jamie’s awakening, he activated one of his true ’Unique’ skills.
[Unique Skill: Imperial Privileges.]
He swung down his raised arm in Jeune’s direction, releasing a wave of energy that washed over both the Half giant and everyone else within a certain range behind him.
[Third Privilege: Reality.]
When those words left his lips, the world around him turned Crimson.
That was the only way the phenomenon that occurred could be described.
Anda who was keeping an eye on Jamie after ending all the other Sovereign Realm dragons was dumbfounded.
He didn’t know whether the dragons who were affected by Jamie’s skill suddenly exploded into chunks of blood and flesh.
Or if they were sliced into pieces by the thousands of spatial blades that made up the thin grid-shaped slash projection field that swept past the area.
But if that was the case, how was it that none of the Liberation Front Soldiers died? Even the ones who had physical contact with dragons at the time were unscathed, whilst the dragon they were combatting suddenly turned to blood.
Just the Dragons and their Allies were affected, whilst everyone else was not.
There were not even dimensional lines left behind, something that should have undoubtedly happened when such a technique was used.
In fact, it was as if the fabric of space where the skill had affected was returned to prime condition, to how it was before the battles of the day began.
The earth that had been ruptured by countless attacks, fissures in the ground, and every other aspect of the devastated terrain was repaired instantly.
But the sheer amount of crimson liquid covering everyone’s vision prevented them from noticing any of this.
A few seconds passed, with the blood still hovering in the air like it had been stopped in time, with every impurity mixed with it, flesh, bone, and organ fragments, being expelled.
It was then that the blood finally showed movements, but instead of succumbing to gravity’s embrace, the blood flowed through the air, hundreds of streams combining with each other and streaking over to Jamie’s direction.
A six-ringed blood-red magic circle flashed in front of him for a second, and the blood began to coagulate in the spot the circle had been.
The Hybrid watched this happen in silence, watching the blood from the hundreds of existences transform into a single item.
A fruit that bore a chillingly crimson hue, with a smooth glistening surface, like the fining rubies reflecting dim light.
Faint patterns were etched on its surface, reminiscent of veins and capillaries that pulsed with a subtle glow.
As for its shape, it was that of a regular apple, only a bit larger than normal.
When it had formed completely, Jamie held out his hand and let the apple fall into his palm, a cool feeling spreading out from the point of contact.
A translucent notification board popped up in his field of view, showing him the details of the item in his hand.
|Artificial Blood Apple.
Type: Esoteric Essence Treasure.
The culmination of the essences of hundreds of soul fragments, their life forces and the existential records of the existences from which the other two constituents were harvested, into a singular crimson orb of vitality.
Depending on the existence realms of the beings sacrificed for its creation, this fruit possesses the capability of elevating one’s existential aspects to a new level.
The main constituent of this particular Blood Apple is the existential record of an Intermediate Stage Sovereign. Consequently, only those who have reached the minimum Intermediate Stage Legendary requirement can hope to consume it, and fully harness its potential to elevate the consumer to the Sovereign
Limitations:
Blood fruits can only be consumed by Vampires, Vampire Subspecies and races with factors that require the essence of life; blood, as a means of sustenance.
Artificial Blood fruits are time-limited. Should they remain untouched for extended periods of time, the energies within them will gradually disperse, melding with the ambient energies of the world, ultimately diminishing the potency they hold. |
Jamie tossed the apple into the air and caught it, before bringing It to his mouth and taking a bite.
He devoured the entire fruit in a few seconds, before taking a deep breath.
**BOOMM!!!
