Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 83: Jeune’s Compétence Unique
His opponent, the large muscular humanoid who had descended together with Brambus, stopped as he noticed that the beast man’s neck had been cut by an invisible blade.
Blood flowed out like a stream and into a ball that hovered beside Jamie’s head, and opening his mouth lightly, the blood flowed straight into his mouth.
Jamie could drink right from the neck of the beastman if he wanted, but our resident Hybrid would rather not sink his fangs into anyone who wasn’t Miranda if he could avoid it.
Naturally, his opponent wasn’t an idiot to let him do something that would help him recover his expended energy, so the half-dragon man attacked Jamie, sending out a flurry of punches which Jamie avoided with minimal effort.
Jamie then grabbed onto the man—Juene’s—hands and slashed him with his pinkie, drawing a bit of blood which he took to his lips while the half-dragon broke free of Jamie’s grip and backed away.
"I see...Half Dragon-Half Giant.
That explains your larger-than-normal body and your absurd physical capabilities."
The Hybrid’s other hand went up to the side of his face where there was a cut, created from the pressure of the half-dragon’s fist brushing past his face.
"Mix a Dragon’s physical strength with that of a giant’s and this is what you get, huh?
I don’t think I had this much strength as a Sovereign."
The other party was silent for a moment, studying Jamie’s appearance and aura before finally speaking.
"You’re the Hybrid, Jamie Westley, are you not? Father has told me about you.
You’re the one who Stole not only our Ancestral treasure but the innate powers of multiple generations of Red dragons."
Hearing his words, Jamie raised his brow in light surprise, and just when ’Jeune’ thought he was going to deny it, the Hybrid’s next words went on a tangent he did not expect.
"That’s the part he told you about?
He didn’t tell you about the part where I beat the shit out of him and everyone else in the clan, turned them into glorified batteries, before proceeding to drain their power to get this ’Ancestral Treasure’?
He also didn’t tell you about the part where I destroyed it and tossed its remnants into the void.
What about the part where I left than a dozen generations of your Clan’s dragons traumatized? Begging me for death?
Did he tell you about those parts?"
Jeune’s face contorted more and more with each question Jamie asked, and by the time the Hybrid asked the last one, his annoyance had reached its breaking point.
"You!"
Stomping his foot on the ground, he made the earth cave in, creating a massive fissure that spread all the way to under Jamie’s feet, but contrary to his expectation, the Hybrid remained ’standing’ on the empty air.
"What? Didn’t think I could fly? Spatial Flight is merely an advanced level technique, not too hard to achieve."
His words had Jeune narrowing his eyes, his brain analysing all the information he had gotten from Jamie so far.
’Spatial Attribute, huh? That barrier was his doing too. As for his existence level...Superior Legendary.
Father said he was as strong as His Excellency, meaning his avatar in this world should be at least Transcendent like Father’s. So why is it low?’
He gazed at Jamie quietly, long enough that the Hybrid got bored of the silence and asked.
"What’s got you so lost in your thoughts?" 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"...Nothing.
You’ve done this in the past, before? Disrupting His Excellency’s plans on a whim. My father told me about it."
A white frosty haze rose from the man’s body as he spoke, while his form slowly shifted into a battle stance.
"I think I may have done something like this before..."
Ignoring Jamie’s mutter, Jeune roused his aura and flared it, showcasing his Intermediate Sovereign Realm power for all to see.
Seeing this, Jamie’s expression morphed into surprise, not because of his realm, but because of the attribute of his energy.
"...it’s not fire?"
Ikerth’s Clan was a Red dragon clan, known best for their fire element prowess. But Brambus’ son Jeune here had an element on the opposite end of the spectrum.
’His mother’s giant bloodline is that strong, huh?
Is she perhaps a Race Lord from another world who got sent here by her boss to work under Ikerth?
This is getting interesting.’
A grin formed on Jamie’s face as he adopted a combat stance. He could see that Jeune intended to go all out from the start, and unlike Pirantu, this half-dragon was not injured.
The Hybrid drew power from his Child of Space skill, merely shying from actually activating the skill as his azure-blue magic power covered his palms.
Jeune’s lips parted slightly, but the words he spoke were ones from a different Language Jamie did not expect.
"Compétence Unique."
’Huh? His mother’s tongue?’
Jamie’s Language Comprehension skill was activated, drawing wisps of the law of language’s energy to translate his words to Jamie. However, this was not necessary, given Jamie already knew the language.
"Givre Frénétique!"
The Half giant stomped his foot on the ground as he spoke, conjuring a swirling tempest of his frosty aura around him. The aura formed a pair of clawed gloves and boots, extending up to his elbows and knees respectively.
**BOOMM!!
A loud booming sound rang out alongside shockwaves rippling in all directions as in the next second, both of them simultaneously charged towards each other.
Fist collided mid-way, the force behind each punch causing the surroundings to tremble and the earth to quiver.
Their fists moved at lightning-fast speeds, clashing multiple times before the two finally pulled back for a short ’break’.
It was during this short break that the shockwaves from their strikes finally reached the ground beneath them, resulting in its collapse due to the immense force.
Jamie instantly went airborne, reinforcing his magic power coat around his palm as he held up his index and middle fingers.
’Basic Attack Sequence #1: Slice’
He flicked his wrist downward and sent an invisible blade of spatial energy hurtling through the air towards Jeune.
The Half Giant’s senses screamed at him and he jumped to the side, escaping the slice that severed the space he was standing in a mere moment ago.
An unfortunate dragon perished from this, but the two combatants did not care.
’He’s sharp...if so.
Basic Attack Sequence #2: Cut!’
Jamie held up the same two fingers, however, this time, he swung his entire arm instead of just flicking his wrist.
Jeune who had shot into the air after Jamie, sensed the impending danger coming from his right side and tried shifting to his left, but at the last moment, the sense of danger suddenly doubled and he created a foothold of ice beneath his feet, kicking off the platform and ascending higher into the air.
Immediately after, two crisscrossing blades of spatial energy split apart the foothold he had created, and he didn’t need to be a genius to know his legs would have been the ones split apart if he hadn’t jumped away.
Flipping his body in the air, Jeune focused his icy aura on the tip of his fingers to create a concentrated orb of ice which he then launched towards Jamie.
"Orbe en ruine."
The sphere shot towards his Hybrid opponent at sonic speed, but Jamie only needed to glance at it for the attack to be unceremoniously sliced in two pieces, releasing an icy explosion that never reached him.
Under the cover of the light blue smoke, Jeune cupped his palms and condensed energy within them, firing it forward as a beam aimed at Jamie’s head, but a wormhole appeared before it and absorbed the energy beam.
’Wormholes, he used those earlier.’
"Let’s see if they’re large enough to absorb this."
Cupping his palms once more, Jeune rapidly condensed his energy to the point that the air around his palms distorted from the sheer density. He then proceeded to raise it up overhead and toss the condensed energy orb towards Jamie.
"Météore de glace."
The orb, so tiny that it could fit inside Jeune’s palms increased in size for every millimetre of distance it travelled.
When it left Jeune’s hands, it was merely the size of a basketball. By the time it got within ten metres of Jamie, it was a thousand times that in size.
It cast a large shadow on the ground, covering over a quarter kilometre of distance, and held within it, power to devastate everything within an area roughly 50 times that.
And it was going to do just that; if Jamie didn’t have something to do about it.
The man let out a light chuckle as he figured out what Jeune was aiming for—trying to test the upper diameter limit of Jamie’s portals.
’Basic Attack Sequence #3’
Jamie raised his palm and enveloped it entirely with spatial magic power, before facing the giant meteor of ice and swinging it down.
’Carve.’
A Large mass of spatial magic power was generated, and with Jamie’s hand swing as a guide, it was launched towards the ice meteor.
’...huh?’
