Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 64: Bare-handed beatdown

Pirantu’s body hurtled towards the ground with twice the force as before, spiralling uncontrollably like a leaf caught in a turbulent wind.

Each revolution felt like an eternity as the ground rushed up to meet her, but this came to an abrupt end when Jamie’s foot materialized right in front of her and stomped down on her chest, forcing her back into the ground and causing blood to spurt from her lips.

"It seems this avatar didn’t have much of your draconic power in this body initially. How long has it been since your descent into this world? A few days? Maybe a week?" 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

Jamie casually pointed out Pirantu’s biggest challenge yet, something she had been trying to handle throughout the battle so far.

The Red Dragon’s true body was a Senior Race Lord, so as she conformed to the rules of this world and used an avatar to make a descent, said avatar should have possessed more than Intermediate Sovereign Realm power.

Especially since it wasn’t an automated one but was being controlled by her direct consciousness, and even had a tiny fragment of her soul in it.

"Oh well. The more of your draconic power you draw out from your soul, the sturdier you’d be and the longer your misery."

Immediately he spoke, Pirantu’s eyes and mouth abruptly opened and a beam of flaming light was unleashed straight towards his head.

However, spatial law energy rapidly concentrated in front of him, blooming into a blue-rimmed wormhole that sucked the attack into it and sent it to the void.

Jamie then stomped on her chest once more, forcefully infusing his own energy into her body to disrupt her energy circulation and cancel the breath attack.

Following up, he grabbed onto her neck and took a step forward, and then flung her body over his shoulder, slamming her into the ground with enough force to make her rebound into the air.

"In football..."

He spun around as he spoke, his leather boot transforming into a studded sports shoe as he kicked her body with the full might of his strength stat.

"...it’s called a goal kick."

After kicking the dragon into the air once more, realisation flashed through his eyes and Jamie suddenly slammed a fist into his palm while speaking.

"Ah...that’s not a goal kick."

Looking up at the dragon’s body that was in the air, he continued.

"Get back here, lemme do an actual goal kick."

His shoe transformed back to normal and he flew into the air after her, condensing water law energy into a massive orb while moving.

When Pirantu was finally able to regain her bearings, she was greeted with the sight of the hybrid perched atop a large ball of water, his gaze firmly fixed upon her in the air.

With a mischievous grin, he timed his action for the precise moment when her eyes locked onto his. That was when he sent the water sphere into motion, sending it swirling towards her.

**BOOM!!

The immense mass of water collided with her and propelled her body violently towards the ground below. Upon impact, there was an explosive burst of energy, unleashing plumes of scalding steam that billowed into the surrounding atmosphere.

’Wait...steam?’

Jamie’s attack was 100% water-based, so the fact that he was surrounded by steam when he landed on the floor, meant that—

**WHOOSHH!! **BAMM!!

A fist came barrelling out of the smoke, the arm it was connected to being completely covered in red scales, but Jamie reacted quickly, raising his hand to block the attack.

"This is the part where we go hand-to-hand, isn’t it?"

The man gave a confident smirk as he pushed her body away, before kicking off the ground and dashing after her.

He threw out a full-powered punch with zero energy, which Pirantu blocked by crossing her palms in front of her chest.

’What incredible force...!’

She held in the grunt of pain that threatened to escape her lips, shifting her palms to grab Jamie’s fist whilst stomping on the floor and sending her magic power through it.

Dozens of earthen spikes coated in flames erupted from the ground and zeroed in on the man, but he only glanced at them with the side of his eyes and used his energy to create wormholes they were sucked into.

"Oh, so it’s not purely physical then?"

Jamie’s words were accompanied by the manifestation of a thin layer of blue light around his arms, something Pirantu quickly reciprocated with her aura just in time for Jamie’s flurry of blows to come in.

The Hybrid’s fist came in straight towards her head but she used the inner part of her arm to divert its trajectory, throwing in a punch with her right hand which Jamie blocked using his left.

Jamie’s right hand which she had earlier diverted from its course towards her head reversed in its movement, and she used her right elbow to knock it back off, before grabbing the arm and attempting to spin his body around.

However, Jamie broke out of her hold before she could even complete one revolution, taking advantage of her actions and spinning his body around, generating momentum for the hick kick he sent straight to the back of her head.

Ducking like her life depended on it, Pirantu just barely managed to avoid Jamie’s kick, getting off with a light scrape to the back of her head.

But the same could not be said about the follow-up kick with his left leg that hit her in the behind and sent her body tumbling to the ground.

She rolled across the ground and got back up quickly, tilting he head to the side to avoid Jamie’s fist before retaliating with a punch of her own which Jamie avoided with a timed duck.

Pirantu pivoted on one foot and threw in a back kick to Jamie’s torso, prompting him to twist his body in order to avoid it with a paper-thin margin.

He then grabbed her outstretched leg and dragged it forward, using it as an anchor to pull her whole body over his shoulder and fling her toward the ground.

Nevertheless, the dragon flipped in mid-air and landed on her feet, before charging back to throw a punch towards Jamie’s head at supersonic speed.

Sadly, Jamie tilted his neck to the limit, just short of breaking it himself, an action that resulted in her blow being dodged without a scratch.

Simultaneously, Jamie shifted his body’s weight forward, paying no mind to defence as he struck out, not with a punch, but with his palm.

He delivered a palm heel strike right into Pirantu’s chin, making her face shudder for a moment before the force of the strike sent her body hurtling through the air.

Going after her, he spun his body around in the air and sent out a roundhouse kick to her airborne body, not caring for which part of her body it hit as she was sent crashing down to the ground.

A cloud of dust and dirt billowed into the air from her landing, but barely a second after, Pirantu came shooting out of it, accompanied by a wave of earthen spikes surrounded by rings of flames.

Jamie pulled back his right hand with an open palm, generating a large bow made up of blue energy and creating six large lightning arrows that fired towards the incoming wave.

Upon contact with the first six spears, the lightning arrows ignited the flames around them in an explosion, with the simultaneous explosions amplifying each other and consuming a huge chunk of the projectile wave.

At that moment, Pirantu flashed behind him and struck out, knocking the hybrid towards the ground with the force of her kick before chasing right after.

Jamie landed on his feet and slid across the ground for a few metres, but besides that, he was actually unscathed.

He stepped forward with his right foot and put all of his weight onto it, leaving his left foot free. This allowed him to pivot away to Pirantu’s other side when she sent out a barrage of punches and avoided her attacks easily.

In retaliation, he elbowed the side of her head and knocked her off balance, following it up with a kick to the back of her head that sent her tumbling forward.

Sensing magic power building behind him, he turned towards his back and waved his hand, using spatial slicing to carve out the five magic circles that just materialised there.

But at that moment, Pirantu regained her footing and drew in for an attack, only for Jamie to pivot on his right foot once more and avoid her strike, repaying her with a palm strike to the face.

Jamie reeled back his fist and clenched it, sending it back as a punch that struck true, repeating the same on her lower body, before swivelling to deliver another blow to her midsection.

He finished it off by knocking her body to the ground, only to tack on an extra move where he pulled her back up and greeted her with a knee to the face.

She attempted a counterattack, but the man teleported behind her and struck her with a swift back kick, before teleporting her falling body in front of him where she met his fists in a barrage of heavy punches.

The first one went straight to her face, breaking her nose in the process, but before her blood could even spurt out, Jamie had already blinked behind her and gave a punch to her lower back.

He flashed into the air and punched her in the back of the head, sending her body slamming towards the ground.

Next on the attack chain, Jamie blinked back to the ground and gave her an uppercut that knocked out a few teeth. Following up was another punch to the right side of her cheek, and then one to the left side of her stomach.

Jamie’s combo continued as he flashed to her back and delivered a powerful strike to the back of her neck.

She tried to retaliate, but Jamie only twisted his arm around her and landed an Azure Flare Thunderstrike to her midsection.

It was accompanied by a series of direct palm strikes to her front that hit in rapid succession. He then pulled her arms downwards and struck her open body, concluding with another palm-heel strike to her chin.

The Hybrid whirled his body around, landing two solid kicks to her sides, and then delivered a third one to the centre of her stomach to augment the damage.
