Chapter 320: Calculated Risk

Anadus Prime shuddered violently, the ground beneath their feet convulsing as tectonic plates ground against each other with unimaginable force, triggering planet-wide earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

The sudden loss of planetary mass triggered a gravitational shift that distorted the orbits of the planet’s satellites, with several threatening to plummet from the sky before Jamie activated his Gravity Law Authority and stabilized them to stop the disruption from spiraling further out of control.

But even amidst all this, ’Davina’ didn’t stand by and watch. She attacked Jamie at light speed, unleashing as much magic power as she could in that single punch with her other arm.

It barely took a second before a shockwave dissipated behind Jamie.

The ground was gouged out and turned into a wasteland, everything behind him was destroyed without a single trace left.

Both the sea and the sky split, and even then, the wave of force didn’t stop as it went beyond the horizon and split the atmosphere too. One of the planet’s moons in that direction suddenly cracked, caving on itself.

Within seconds, it had completely disintegrated, turning into space dust.

But this attack, even with all its power, was stopped by just Jamie’s open palm. The ground and the moon that had been destroyed looked as if they’d been hit directly, but the palm that had taken the full brunt of her strike wasn’t wounded at all. In fact, the attack hadn’t even broken through a single layer of the spatial barrier covering his skin.

’Davina’ didn’t even flinch, instead, she forcefully pulled her wrist out of Jamie’s grasp, not caring even if it was ripped apart. Naturally, this made Jamie who didn’t want to break Davina’s body too much let go, and ’Davina’ used that same hand to unleash a barrage of magic-infused claw strikes at light speed.

Jamie blocked every single one of them, diverting the force behind the swipes to the sky to prevent the shockwaves they caused from ripping apart the ground and causing even more destruction to the planet.

Then, he unleashed a counter, flicking his fingers and unleashing a blunt-edged bullet of magic power that collided with her head.

’Davina’ received a shock strong enough for her to believe her head had been snapped right off for a moment as she was blown backwards. The scenery passed by her in an instant, and suddenly ’Davina’ saw the ocean and then land again.

That was when ’Davina’ finally flipped in mid-air and landed...and she realized that just that attack had forced her clean across the ocean and onto another continent.

She had this realisation in the same instant that Jamie appeared in front of her, grabbing her by the neck and slamming her down on her back with enough force to create a massive crater with a planet-shaking impact.

Sealing law energy surged down his arm, and seeing this, ’Davina’ immediately reached out with her left palm and unleashed a full-powered attack at Jamie’s upper body.

|Lunar Eclipse.|

A sphere of energy resembling a darkened moon appeared in her palm, and in a split second, it became a beam of energy with a wide blast radius, erupting upwards with incomprehensible power.

It ripped space apart as it surged through, destroying the atmosphere above and all magnetic fields as it continued on its path, moving so fast that the light it emitted needed a moment to catch up.

It continued onward, escaping the outer reaches of the Euthenia Star System in seconds and colliding with the nearest rogue star, obliterating it in a blinding supernova.

The flesh around Davina’s left arm burst, blood splattering on her face as her bones crumbled to dust under the weight of the power behind the strike. However, with a speed that defied common sense, her arm instantly regenerated, looking as good as new.

As for the one she had attacked at the cost of her original arm, her strike had ended up knocking his body into space with its force and power, preventing him from completing the seal he was about to use.

’But not for lon-!’

Her thought hadn’t even finished when Jamie reappeared behind her, his hand reaching out to grab the back of her neck. She spun to her feet, immediately throwing out her newly regenerated arm to block his strike, however, his hand phased through hers like it wasn’t even there and reached her neck.

It nearly clamped down on it, but she moved her other hand coated in powerful law energy, grabbing his intangible arm and pulling it away, before unleashing light-speed counterattacks.

She paid her creaking joints no heed as she threw out attacks from all directions, surpassing the limits of her body.

But Jamie’s expression remained unchanged as he parried each strike with ease, not a single attack reaching him.

In fact, his attempt at a ’light counter’ ended up with ’Davina’ easily losing an arm.

Not even the least bit surprised, ’Davina’ quickly grabbed the severed arm and pushed it back onto her stump, forcing it to regenerate. Then, with no sign of faltering, she charged in from the front, throwing some of her own blood, which had gotten on her palm, toward Jamie.

The blood had barely even gone anywhere when ’Davina’ detonated the magic power within it, creating a blinding blast that momentarily blinded Jamie.

If Jamie was an existence who only relied on his vision to perceive attacks, he would have been toast. But he wasn’t, as such, he was able to easily move his hand behind his back without even bothering to turn around, and block the claw aiming right for his heart.

He then spun in place and used the centrifugal force to kick ’Davina’ in the chest, breaking several of her ribs with a loud sound.

But even as blood spewed from her mouth, ’Davina’ didn’t falter. Stopping herself mid-air, she stuck her palm out in front of her and started to rain down magic.

Every single shot of light was a dense spear of magic power and law energy capable of erasing a planet by itself, and ’Davina’ didn’t hold back as she unleashed several hundred—no, several thousand—bullets.

The magic bullets rained down mercilessly, causing several pillars of light that stretched up to the heavens.

"Void."

Jamie snapped his fingers, conjuring azure-blue rimmed portals that devoured the attacks faster than they could reach the ground, then flew through the array of wormholes and reached ’Davina’ behind it all, punching and shattering the eight-ringed magic circle forming in front of her outstretched hands.

"Can’t have you using that level of magic with that body."

His fist continued forward, colliding with her waist with enough force to crumble her bones to dust, but even in that state, she still managed to counterattack, grabbing Jamie’s hand and expelling a tidal wave of magic power from her body.

The blinding explosion released a surge of light comparable to the supernova from earlier, but Jamie, despite taking it at point-blank range was completely unscathed.

He threw his left fist forward amidst the blast, punching ’Davina’ in the torso once more and sending her body flying into the horizon.

She crash-landed onto another continent, bashing through hundreds of buildings, cars and even people, turning them into blood paste before eventually coming to a stop when she crashed onto a mountaintop.

Jamie’s foot abruptly appeared above her and immediately descended towards her chest, so she quickly rolled out of the way to avoid it. However, Jamie extended his hand and her body flew into the air, her neck socketing itself in his palm.

Faster than she could attempt to wrench herself free, Jamie slammed her back into the ground once, twice, and then a third time before his expression finally changed.

"Got it."

"?!"

’Davina’ couldn’t understand why, but she felt a chill run down her spine at those two words. Magic power and law energy erupted from her body with cataclysmic force, but they did nothing to Jamie as he unhesitatingly drove his fist down into her face.

**BOOM!!!!

It was the strongest attack he had unleashed so far, its sheer force collapsing the mountain beneath them and sending them crashing into the deepest layer of the planet’s crust in an instant. Yet, despite the overwhelming energy packed into his strike, Davina’s body bore only a broken nose.

And it wasn’t because she was simply that durable.

’Davina’ suddenly vomited blood, her expression twisting into genuine shock for the first time since the battle began.

Meeting her wide eyes, Jamie spoke calmly.

"It was a bit tricky for me in my current state, figuring out the fine line separating your souls."

Realization dawned in her gaze as Jamie continued.

"But now I’ve got it. Ensuring that only about..."

Space twisted around them, Jamie’s power locking it down completely, preventing ’Davina’ from even twitching as he ran a quick calculation.

"...one hundred-billionth of a percent of my attacks will harm Davina Evangelista."

Dark blue energy surged up his arm as he grinned and asked.

"Wanna guess who the rest of it will harm?"
