Chapter 265: Weapon Authority

As the dragon howled in agony, Jamie leapt onto the second head from the left.

Azure Flame Authority + Azure Lightning Authority

The two Ultimate Skills were activated simultaneously as he plunged his blade into the gaping wound he had carved earlier.

Lightning and flames crackled down its length, igniting a volatile chain reaction that sent fiery explosions racing along the dragon’s neck, tearing through flesh and bone.

Jamie teleported in a flash, reappearing outside the void dome barrier he had erected. Without hesitation, he smacked the back of the head of a woman who had been reaching towards it.

"Don’t be stupid. Can you not recognize void energy?"

"?!"

The woman and the other Elven Deities from Estea’s Interstellar Management, who had rushed over after the rift explosion, turned to him in shock. None of them had even sensed his presence until the moment he struck.

WHO ARE—GUH?!

One of the deities started to demand Jamie’s identity, but before his colleagues—those who already recognized Jamie—could intervene, Jamie exerted the full force of his ’Race Emperor Authority’.

The man’s ’Race Lord Authority’ was overwhelmed, and he doubled over, groaning in agony as his very soul felt the weight of Jamie’s power crushing it. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

’Tsk...If not for my Zenith Haven Soul, it would be impossible to use this thing without being in the Monarch Realm...’

Just as that thought crossed Jamie’s mind, the sound of the dragon’s roar reached his ears and he turned to see it unleashing breath attacks in all directions.

Snapping his fingers, Jamie conjured a series of void portals that swallowed the deadly energy before it could wreak further havoc on the city.

Without sparing a glance at the Race Lords beyond his barrier, Jamie teleported back into Halrith, reappearing beside the dragon’s second head from the right.

The moment his presence registered in the physical plane, multiple tier-7 magic circles lit up beneath him, and a web of lightning surged in a thunderous explosion.

The trap magic circle that the dragon had conjured to catch Jamie was accompanied by spears of piercing wind, jagged spikes of ice and tendrils of corrosive poison.

This onslaught that could obliterate Half-Deities with ease blanketed Jamie, and the dragon, having spotted Jamie’s location thanks to the traps, moved its massive body away to take distance.

But before it even completed the motion, a streak of light burst from the storm, streaking past the dragon’s neck.

A line of blood appeared on the dragon’s neck, its scales shattered and broken to pieces. The dragon’s anguished howl shook the earth as its second head was severed horizontally in two.

Before the pieces could even fall, more lines appeared on the serpentine neck, splitting it into four halves, six, then eight, and finally ten slabs of flesh rained to the ground like gruesome meat from a butcher’s table.

Blood erupted from the mutilated neck in a crimson geyser, and the culprit raised his hand, swirling all that blood into a giant orb floating in the sky.

Landing the dragon’s back, Jamie brushed the green poison off his suit and spoke.

"That lightning was quite strong. Good thing my Azure Lightning Authority is still active, otherwise, I’d have taken a lot of damage from that."

Jamie turned his attention to the thrashing dragon’s remaining four heads, readying his blade for another strike when he sensed something coming from behind.

Turning, he was met with the sight of the dragons’ razor-sharp tails slashing towards him, but he didn’t even flinch, using spatial mimicry to make them phase through him harmlessly.

Before the dragon could retract its tails, Jamie raised his left hand. The blood orb he had forged from the dragon’s blood pulsed before vomiting a torrent of crimson spears shot out at hypersonic speed, tearing through the air and slamming into the dragon’s tails.

The spears punctured countless holes into the thick, scaled appendages, shredding its flesh and leaving it riddled with gaping wounds that oozed even more blood.

Jamie drained more of the dragon’s blood, the crimson liquid spiralling into the orb hovering in the sky.

Teleporting beside it, Jamie used a finger to poke the orb and tasted the blood, his eyes lighting up as its taste was far better than he expected.

"A pureblood Arch Dragon. Thanks for the meal."

With those words, his mouth widened and the entire blood orb was sucked in faster than a vacuum cleaner devouring dust.

Then, Jamie adjusted his grip on the Galaxy Sword, hurling it at the dragon casting spells like a spear.

The blade became a streak of radiant light, piercing through the skull of the middle dragon head. A sickening crack echoed as the impact shattered its cranial defences, disrupting the magic it was casting.

The sword’s momentum carried it further, embedding deeply into the dragon’s massive back and eliciting another scream of agony from the dragon.

Descending to the ground, Jamie pulled out a handkerchief from his subspace and dabbed at his lips.

Once he was done wiping away the remaining traces of blood, he extended his right hand and the Galaxy Sword flew back into his grasp.

"Guess I’ve weakened it enough."

Jamie muttered as he deactivated all his Authorities, all his skills and all his powers.

His energy became calm, and he took a deep breath, zoning out the world around him.

Suddenly, the blade of the Galaxy Sword began to shine, the swirling galaxies spinning faster as a deep darkness descended upon the Neutral Continent.

Weapon Authority

Cosmic energy surged into the Galaxy Sword uncontrollably and Jamie swung it down.

Dimensional Slash

The action was simple, almost too simple.

The blade released a slash of energy that shimmered like the night sky. It slipped through the fabric of space, ignoring everything in its path until it reached the dragon’s body.

Only then, did it begin to affect the physical third dimension.

The slash passed through the dragon’s body in one clean arc and its massive body was ’severed’.

It was split neatly in two, both halves collapsing to the ground under their weight. Its remaining heads fell to the ground lifeless, the light in their eyes vanishing just as the darkness was lifted.

[Level Up]

[Level Up]

...

[Level Up]

"Well, that was anticlimactic."

Jamie muttered, before glancing down at the sword in his right hand. Raising his left hand, he activated his Authority of Death and claimed the soul of the dragon faster than death itself could.

He checked his new level but didn’t seem particularly impressed by the leap. It was expected as the dragon had been over 80 levels above him.

After stashing the dragon’s soul for now, Jamie dismissed his void barrier and surveyed the city around him—total devastation, death, and destruction in every direction.

With a frown, he gathered cosmic energy into his left hand, raising it.

Imperial Privileges: Second Privilege

His thumb and ring fingers touched, and he opened his mouth to declare the name of his Privilege.

Reali-

[Don’t.]

A hand appeared out of nowhere, stopping his fingers mid-snap.

Jamie looked at the one who owned the hand, Jamie met a pair of eyes that reflected the boundless sparry expanse of space.

As always, ’she’ wore a black-and-white dress with daring slits on either side, giving ’her’ legs freedom of movement. But today, ’her’ long hair was tied into a single braid, a rare change from ’her’ usual style.

"Why?"

[It’s pointless.]

’Estea’ responded to Jamie’s question as she pushed his hand down, preventing him from altering reality and erasing the destruction of Halrith City.

[There’s no point in restoring the city. The dead ones wouldn’t come back anyway.]

’Her’ gaze swept over the city—eyes landing on the wounded, those being tended to, people mourning their loved ones, and the many others caught in the aftermath.

"You could bring them back if you wanted. It hasn’t been long. All you’d need to do is ’reject’ the souls from the Underworld. If I restore their bodies, they won’t linger, and the souls will be drawn back immediately."

Jamie spoke, keeping his Imperial Privileges active and noticing this, ’Estea’ sighed and shook ’her’ head.

[Again. It’s pointless.]

Before he spoke, ’she’ moved, waving ’her’ hand to cover them with a cosmic energy bubble that isolated them from the spacetime continuum as ’she’ spoke.

[Don’t forget that ’Zanerth’ is looking for any petty reason to hold me down. If it was a different situation, I’d have let you do what you want, but as far as one of those dumb gates is concerned, then I cannot.

After all, ’Zanerth’ is already aware of everything that just happened.]

After saying that, ’she’ quickly changed the topic to prevent Jamie from bringing it up again.

[It’s high time you looked through that dragon’s soul. I want to know which bastard is responsible for it.]

’Estea’ was still pissed at having ’her’ fabric of space breached, and ’she’ could tell that the energy that had caused the breach was the dead dragon in the distance.

Jamie looked at ’her’ in silence for a moment, before deactivating his Imperial Privileges with a sigh.

He pulled out the two souls and used a combination of his Life and Death law Authorities to search them, but the results unsettled him.

A frown deepened across his face, the information not what he had expected.

Without a word, he stuffed the souls back into his subspace, then, he completely ignored the rushed approaches of the Interstellar Management Board officials, who had arrived to assess the situation and teleported away in an instant, heading straight for the Efvahona Regional capital.
