Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 264: Azure Lightning Authority
The dome-shaped barrier was conjured with his void energy. So stray attacks wouldn’t go off to erase another city elsewhere and instead be consigned to the void.
Then, he made a smaller cylindrical inner barrier to prevent the people still within Halrith from touching the dome barrier and being erased from existence.
Looking at the dragon that still couldn’t pinpoint his presence, Jamie held out his left hand and began to speak.
|Beyond the edge of space.
Across the endless void.
Where stars collapse and worlds are torn.
I call upon the severer of all dimensions. |
Cosmic energy coalesced around his arm, along with a staggering concentration of universal law energy that the eight-headed dragon did not miss.
Finally spotting the one who dared to attack him, it roared and condensed energy in its maws.
|Galaxy Sword. |
Jamie’s sword materialized in his grip just as the dragon unleashed its grey stormy breaths. The beams of energy tore through the air, converging on Jamie with the devastating power to obliterate a small planet.
As an Apex World, Estea could easily withstand such power, but the things on its surface? Not so much.
To deal with this attack, Jamie raised his right hand and snapped his index and thumb fingers as he commanded.
|Void. |
The space before him distorted, blooming into a blue-rimmed portal of never-ending darkness. The dark void swirled with an inescapable pull, drawing in the dragon’s breaths.
In an instant, the destructive force that could obliterate many Low and Mid-level worlds was sucked in, vanishing into the abyss of the void.
The eight-headed dragon froze mid-motion, its glowing golden eyes wide with shock.
Its breaths, while not its most powerful strike, were still enough to end most opponents it had ever faced.
Yet, they had been devoured like smoke caught in a gust of wind. For a moment, its many heads exchanged glances, dumbfounded, as if questioning whether what they’d just witnessed was even possible.
Jamie ignored the dumbfounded dragon as he closed the void portal. Switching the Galaxy Sword from his left to his right hand, he surveyed the ruined city around him.
Flames clawed hungrily at the ashen sky. Buildings, once proud monuments of civilization, shattered to millions of pieces.
The air was thick with the acrid stench of burning wood and metal, and rivers of molten debris carved paths through the streets.
He turned his gaze to the eight-headed dragon as it struggled to rise, its massive tails thrashing violently and sending shockwaves rippling through the devastated terrain.
"All right, stop. That’s enough of the description of the whole city’s destruction, isn’t it?"
Jamie said suddenly, chuckling as he raised his left hand and clenched his fist.
In an instant, the chaos froze.
The flames halted mid-dance, embers suspended in the air like fireflies caught in amber. The writhing necks of the dragon stilled, their furious motion arrested by an invisible force.
Even the sound of destruction ceased, leaving behind nothing but silence in this world of stopped time.
’Hmm...my control over space-time isn’t as good since I haven’t regained my Azure Void Authority...’
Such a thought crossed Jamie’s mind in that instant, but he put it behind him and turned his gaze outward to speak to the readers.
"Now, I’m sure a few Chapters ago you were probably wondering how I ended up in this situation. But now, you have your answer.
You now know how and why I ended up having to fight an eight-headed dragon.
So now, let’s get to the part where I have to kill the eight-headed dragon so that the story can continue."
With those words as a cue, the frozen world shattered, and the roar of the dragon filled the air once more.
But by then, Jamie was already in motion.
Kicking off the ground, he closed the distance in an instant. His right arm crossed in front of his body until the hilt of the Galaxy Sword touched his left shoulder.
|Azure Lightning Authority: Lightning Severance|
He swung the blade with full force, the arc of his strike releasing a dazzling surge of lightning that tore through the air toward the dragon.
The dragon roared and activated its own Authorities, summoning walls of whirling winds and arcs of lightning to defend itself.
But it was all futile as the power of Jamie’s Unique Authority overwhelmed it, tearing through the dragon’s barriers like paper and landing on the dragon with devastating impact.
It shattered the dragon’s scales in a dazzling burst of azure sparks, permeating into its flesh and searing through muscle and bone.
The dragon’s massive body convulsed as its nerves were roasted, locking it in a momentary paralysis.
With its strength, it could escape the paralysis in a few seconds.
But a few seconds were also more than enough time for Jamie to teleport to the base of its necks and swing the Galaxy Sword.
It had once been stated that merely wielding the Galaxy Sword tripled Jamie’s base power.
This statement could be confirmed by how he effortlessly severed the head of this Deity Level 200 Dragon.
For reference, Jamie was currently Deity Level 117.
Every one of Jamie’s attacks distorted space on default. Combined with the Galaxy Sword, a weapon called the ’Cosmic Blade of Dimensional Severance’, the power unleashed with just a single slash was enough to rip space apart and leave behind a dimensional line.
The far-left dragon’s head was cleanly severed and, in its pain, it broke free from the paralysis and lunged with its second head to bite Jamie. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
But the hybrid simply conjured an invisible foothold in the air, using it to propel himself upward and land atop the attacking head.
He plunged the Galaxy Sword deep into its skull, then kicked off with a burst of momentum. Dragging the blade along its cranium and down its neck, Jamie carved a devastating line through its armoured scales, splitting them apart and leaving a crimson trail of blood that misted the air as the dragon shrieked in agony.
Desperation overtook the beast as it turned all remaining heads inward, unleashing a cascade of breath attacks directly at Jamie, heedless of the damage it might inflict upon itself.
Unluckily for it, Jamie merely snapped his fingers and conjured a massive void portal to intercept the onslaught of breath attacks.
The void greedily consumed the stormy energy, and Jamie then swirled the portal into a pulsing sphere in his palm.
Snapping his fingers, he reopened the portal—this time before the far-right head of the dragon.
The stolen energy, now contaminated with the power of the void, erupted from the portal, striking the far-right head with devastating force, obliterating it in a blinding explosion of blood and gore.
