Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 215: The Fallen Terror
The Main Entities of that Era could only plead with Jamie to beat some sense into Cassiel for their sake.
However, Jamie did not destroy the budding Amphitheatre and instead encased it in a Cosmic Energy forcefield.
The current Amphitheatre radiated an ethereal glow, visible from light-years away, a beacon calling forth warriors from the farthest reaches of the Universe.
Once a year, the Eternal Trials were held within this amphitheatre, an event so revered and anticipated that millions from countless galaxies gathered to witness the legendary battles.
Spectators from all walks of life travelled light-years to witness the clash of titans, where history itself came alive on the grandest stage imaginable.
At the heart of the Amphitheatre was its unparalleled technology—capable of summoning Projections of powerful beings whose impact on the Universe’s intergalactic stage had been immortalized.
These Projections were not mere illusions; they were hyper-realistic constructs of battle data and energy signatures scanned from the original beings, representing them at their peak. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Cassiel’s Authority of Creation was the reason why the Amphitheatre possessed the power to create these constructs, even though they could only exist within the Amphitheatre’s Arena.
The Amphitheatre’s vast archives contained battle data spanning hundreds of Cosmic Cycles (1 Cosmic Cycle=1 Million Years), enabling the summoning of anyone whose energy it has recorded—be they living or deceased.
Yet, a persistent belief haunted the event: many spectators claimed that the Projections were not mere copies, but the souls of the dead, called forth to fight once more.
This belief added a mystical and chilling layer to the spectacle, as some believed they were witnessing the final echoes of ancient beings still tied to the mortal coil.
Of course, this wasn’t true, but the Creator Society did not refute these rumours as they attracted more visitors yearly.
The amphitheatre’s incredible auto-repair function restored the arena to pristine condition after each battle, no matter the devastation wrought during the clashes.
It did so by absorbing the ambient Cosmic energy abundant in the High-Level Pinecone Galaxy so planet-shattering energy blasts, dimensional rifts, and the obliteration of entire segments of the arena were seamlessly mended within moments.
These repairs allowed for continuous, world-breaking battles without ever compromising the arena’s structure, no matter how many conflicts it endured.
As for the Trials that take place in the Arenas, they were not merely exhibitions but fierce tests of skill, strength, and resolve.
When a challenger enters the vast arena, the Amphitheatre scans their power and summons a Projection of a being with comparable, often greater, strength.
This ensured that each battle was not only a fight but a trial—pushing the challenger to their very limits.
The Projections, fuelled by the Amphitheatre’s near-infinite power (Cosmic Energy Recycling) were always slightly stronger than the challenger, designed to test them beyond their current capabilities.
It was a crucible where only the most resourceful and powerful combatants could survive and triumph.
Triumphing brought Intergalactic fame and renown, so despite the great risk of death, the thousand Challenge slots were always filled up each year.
Those who dared to enter the arena didn’t only fight for glory but also left a permanent mark. The Amphitheatre records their battle data, adding it to its vast archives.
In future Trials, they themselves may be summoned as a Projection, creating a legacy for which the next generation of fighters would have to challenge.
Cassiel’s Amphitheatre was more than a battleground; it was a living history of the universe’s most powerful and influential figures, a stage where legends were born, remembered, and, for a few fleeting moments, revived to fight once more.
After hearing his student’s vision, how could Jamie dare to destroy the budding Amphitheatre?
He wanted to see how far Cassiel could go, so he helped preserve Pinecone’s integrity by placing the Cosmic Energy barrier around the Amphitheatre.
’In the end, Cassiel was targeted because he was such a visionary and was the leading figure in the Galaxy’s technological advancement.’
Cassiel’s Genius had been the direct cause of his death. He made Pinecone’s technology advance by leaps and bounds, affecting all areas of life...including the Military.
And there was a faction that definitely did not like Pinecone’s Military growing stronger.
Cassiel, as well as several other important visionaries, were taken out by the leader of that faction.
"Ah...I can see it well now."
Jamie muttered under his breath and Lapis froze when she heard his words. She had been trying to ignore it, but Jamie’s words inadvertently brought her attention back to it.
Outside the window, floating in the vast emptiness of space, a monstrous figure loomed—its form impossible to ignore.
A leviathan stretched out, its colossal body spanning light years, so immense that it dwarfed entire star systems.
Broken scales, the smallest of which were the size of stars, glinted a crystalline dark blue, casting an eerie sheen that could be seen for thousands of light years.
Along its back, kite-shaped plates stood upright like jagged mountains, and its tail was adorned with towering spikes that jutted into the dark, their razor-sharp edges still fearsome even in death.
Some parts of its body were coiled in massive loops, others straightened out, and yet it all blended together into an otherworldly, unsettling sight—an amalgam of strength and ruin.
Its vastness was undeniable. The leviathan’s body stretched farther than the eye could perceive, farther than the human mind could comprehend.
It was as if the creature itself had once ruled the space between stars and galaxies, its presence felt even in its lifeless state.
But it was not just any creature. It was a corpse. A behemoth long dead, left to float silently in the vacuum of space.
And it was more than just a beast.
At Jamie’s words, Lapis turned her head slowly, and her eyes fell upon the leviathan’s ruined form.
The leader of the faction that had opposed the rise of Pinecone’s civilisation and technology.
The one who had killed both Cassiel, the visionary, and someone even more precious to her: the man she had loved.
Her husband.
Lapis stood frozen, her gaze locked onto the lifeless leviathan, the void around the space station she was in suddenly turned colder, emptier, as she called out the name of this entity who despite having perished over 400 million years ago, still haunted the stars with the shadow of its existence.
The greatest threat Pinecone had ever faced, now reduced to a skeletal husk of its former terror.
"The Amorphous Space Beast..."
