Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 163: The Janitor
Ikerth was approached by this new Extinction Legion because he held control over Zotov, so Miranda didn’t want any one person holding control over the whole planet since the Extinction Legion might just somehow entice that person to their side.
She also wanted Zotov to be in the Argent Empire, because the new Extinction Legion knew Argent wasn’t somewhere to mess with and stayed far from it.
"Ikerth became a Herald?
Wait...so that’s why you said he picked up the law of Extinction?!" (Refer to Chapter 111)
Miranda’s previous words now made sense to Jamie, after all, all members of the Extinction Legion were required to have a Basic RL Authority in the Law of Extinction, a powerful Universal law on par with Destruction and Annihilation.
Together, those three made the best trio when it came to erasing things.
"That’s why I was after Ikerth because he was a Herald of this new Extinction Legion."
Miranda placed her mug down after she spoke, taking a deep breath, before continuing.
It was now time for her to talk about the next set of things Jamie wanted to know, the reason why she changed Jamie’s castle and who that guy was.
But first, a little light had to be shed on a type of existence called a Cosmic Being.
Cosmic.
The word had many definitions, however, the one took the cake for being the most popular.
’Of or relating to the cosmos, the extra-terrestrial vastness, or the universe in contrast to the earth alone.’
The ’Cosmos’ in this definition referred to All of Existence as a whole. Every possible Universe and its contents are part of the Cosmos.
Now, the strength and vitality required for sustained activities was Energy.
As such, one could say that the strength and vitality required for the sustained activities in the Cosmos was Cosmic Energy.
Cosmic energy was the life force existing any and everywhere. Present in the Cosmos, between galaxies, the molecules, and in space.
The Cores of Galaxies could simply be called giant orbs of highly condensed cosmic energy. Of course, one had to get through the Supermassive Black Holes at the centres of most galaxies to reach these Cores.
Anyway, as the energy that sustained the entire Cosmos, Cosmic Energy naturally held immense power and was superior to other types of energy.
It could also be said that Cosmic Energy was the Origin, while all others were just offshoots of it.
High concentrations of Cosmic Energy in an area, did more harm than good to a majority of the existences in the Cosmos. The concentration of Cosmic Energy in an area was directly proportional to the concentration of other energies like Magic, Aura and the like, as well as Universal Law power.
The pressure from the concentrated Cosmic Energy was harmful to many beings, as such filters were necessary to reduce the concentration of the energy to a level that was acceptable.
Examples of these filters included the Universe, the Galaxies within and the Atmospheres of planets.
Of course, these things had other purposes for existing, but one of them was to reduce the concentration of Cosmic energy to a level that the beings within it could survive without harm.
They were a sort of safe zone for beings who could not withstand the pressure of Cosmic energy.
However, the energy was not removed, but only filtered to reduce its concentration as the Universe itself ran on cosmic energy. The excess energy that was left after this filtering process was then absorbed by the Universe and used as a source of power.
Galaxies further filtered the already lowered concentration of cosmic energy to an even lower level, and so did most planets. There were disparities in this, however, and that was why some Galaxies and Planets were considered ’Higher’ and some were ’Lower’.
Those which had stronger ambient Cosmic energy, which in turn made them stronger and more durable were the ’Higher’ ones—High, Prime and Apex Worlds, for example.
Beings born on these Higher planets or Galaxies are naturally capable of withstanding the high energy concentration, so even if they went to a Lower one, there would not be any issue.
But a being from a Lower one who has lived with Lower energy concentrations was to go to a Higher one without being strong enough, then they would suffer.
The only way they would not be crushed under the ambient energies is if their Existence Realm was high enough.
When one ascends the Realms of Existence, their bodies and souls grow stronger and depending on how strong they are, they could be either be affected very little by the increased concentration or not affected at all.
In space, the concentration of all ambient energies, (Cosmic Energy included) increased, and upon leaving the Galaxy it increased even further.
Due to this, certain precautions need to be taken when leaving a Planet or Galaxy.
If one was not in a sufficient realm of existence, then the action of leaving one’s Planet or Galaxy would be nothing short of a suicide attempt.
As stated earlier, the reason for this increased energy concentration, was due to the presence of the greatest energy type that was the backbone behind life in the Cosmos; Cosmic energy.
Like other energy types can be manipulated, the same could be said about Cosmic energy.
However, most beings could not even perceive the existence of Cosmic energy, much less dare to dream of manipulating it.
The majority did not even know it existed in the first place!
This Majority was about 97-98%.
There existed beings everywhere that did not know about Cosmic energy and what it did.
The ones who knew of, could completely perceive and manipulate ambient Cosmic energy in their surroundings were those known as Sub-Cosmic beings.
One might wonder why they are called ’Sub’.
The reason is because of the existence of complete ’Cosmic Beings’.
To not drag this on any longer, it should be noted that it was impossible to ’kill’ a Cosmic Being without being one yourself.
After all, their Souls were covered in Layers of Cosmic energy, and only with cosmic energy could these layers be breached.
Sub-Cosmic beings could achieve this, but it was difficult because they had a glaring weakness.
They could utilize ambient Cosmic Energy however they wished. Sadly, they could not absorb this Cosmic energy into their bodies.
This meant that if they were in a place with low concentrations of Cosmic energy, then their ability to use it would be greatly limited.
Cosmic Beings, however, could generate Cosmic energy internally with their energy cores, along with magic power and aura, along with being able to manipulate the ambient one.
The concentration of ambient cosmic energy in the area mattered little to them.
In addition to that, they could do one other thing that could be considered a Sub-Cosmic being’s weakness when facing a genuine Cosmic being.
And that was dominating the ambient Cosmic energy and putting it under their control.
Hence, why it was difficult for Cosmic Beings to be killed by Sub-Cosmics.
On a side note, the Complete Hybrids were all Sub-Cosmic beings.
"The reason I moved your castle, is because a Cosmic Being was after you. They wanted to take advantage of your slumber to harm your soul.
The motive behind this is straightforward."
Poking Jamie’s chest with her finger, Miranda spoke.
"It’s because you, Jay, are a Cosmic Being.
Just as they can permanently harm your soul or, by some miracle, possibly ’kill’ you, you can do the same to them; so, they wanted you out of the way."
Although it may sound surprising, no one really knew where Jamie went when he slumbered for millennia.
He was mostly in the Blue Moon Castle, but sometimes he stayed elsewhere.
The Blue Moon Castle wasn’t his only property on Estea, so even if one knew he was on Estea, it was safe to say that searching the Apex Planet with an area of over 100 billion square kilometres wasn’t something anyone wanted to do.
They could also not peruse Estea’s records, because Jamie’s Irregular nature made it such that nothing about him was recorded by a planet if he did not wish it.
"But this person knew exactly where you were, they knew you were on Estea, and you were in the Blue Moon Castle.
They were close, close enough that if I was to try and move you off the planet, they would have noticed me.
So I simply changed your location on the planet, put you at the bottom of an ocean and placed multiple layers of concealment and misdirection seals to deter them.
As such, when they scanned Estea, they did not find you, but instead alerted me to their presence and had to run since they did not want me to know about them."
From this, it could be discerned that while Miranda knew of this person, the person was not aware that Miranda knew about them and still believed they were hidden.
"So? Who’s this person?"
Jamie asked the deal breaker question and hearing it, Miranda glanced in the direction of Zotov before answering.
"The Destruction Supreme had an obsession.
His obsession towards Destroying everything created a ’Vestige’ which caused the creation of something possibly even more dangerous than the Destruction Supreme ever was."
Miranda got up from her seat, crossing her arms in front of her chest as she walked forward while continuing.
"The Cosmic Being, after you, Ikerth’s Master, the creator of the new Extinction Legion, and the person whom I had you woken up because of—they’re all the same person."
She paused, turning to face Jamie, her eyes filled with a grave intensity as she spoke at length.
"The ’Vestige’ of the Destruction Supreme embedded within the shattered remnants of the ’Annihilation Catalyst,’ has drawn these fragments together, birthing a new entity.
The reforged ’Annihilation Catalyst’ gained Sentience, and now they seek to complete the task their Creator never accomplished.
And just like its creator, they’ve self-employed themself into a certain job in the Universe."
"The Janitor."
