Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 162: The Destruction Supreme and the Extinction Legion
"Daniella isn’t like us She’s not unkillable.
She’s also not a Vampire Deity with an Infinite Lifespan, nor has she surpassed Monarchy.
She would eventually die one day, and I do not want that Blueprint to fall into the wrong hands if she dies.
What’s more, last I found traces of her, Daniella was wanted intergalactically because of her Immense Knowledge as one of the oldest Witches alive."
Daniella was one of the oldest witches alive in the Universe, but sadly, she was far from the strongest.
Beings with more power than she had coveted her knowledge, and if they succeeded in getting to her...
"...We will have something even worse than a Galactic Disaster on our hands."
Jamie’s voice was solemn when he spoke, and there was an undeniable gravitas in his tone.
This made Miranda wonder just exactly what would happen if Daniella was ever caught.
"Those are the two reasons I’m after her.
To get the Blueprint, and to prevent her from being captured."
After saying his piece, silence pervaded the area for some minutes.
A small crystal space beast floated past the area, however, when it set its eyes on Jamie and Miranda, it shivered with fear before quickly swimming away.
The two ignored this and remained seated in silence until Miranda broke it with her words.
"It’s all connected.
Why I was after Ikerth and Zotov, why I don’t want anyone monopolizing Ruindeum, why I incited Waldron and the others to wake you up, and why I sent your castle to the bottom of the Arnmouth Ocean..."
Jamie raised a brow in surprise when he heard this. He had been expecting that Miranda had different reasons for each of these things, but a connection between them all wasn’t something he had been expecting.
"Ikerth had attacked Zotov and went after its Ruindeum on his own volition, hence why I never really cared about it at first.
It was only by chance that Richard and I were inspecting something on the outskirts of the Colonies that we noticed something no one knows..."
Miranda sighed as she remembered how shocked she was to discover this connection. If it wasn’t for Richard stopping her that day, she would have killed Ikerth and destroyed Zotov right there and then.
"Zotov is guaranteed to become a Prime... no Apex World in the future.
It produces so much Ruindeum that even if every other planet with the metal in the galaxy were to combine their reserves, it wouldn’t reach what Zotov produces in a year."
Ruindeum was a rare metal, but when you looked at things on the scale of a Galaxy with hundreds of billions of stars, Rare, became pretty common.
This meant Zotov produced an absurd amount of Ruindeum.
"But the Ruindeum that makes it out to the Interstellar Stage is merely 35% of what Ikerth mined from Zotov.
He didn’t put more Generals on Zotov, as a tactic to make people underestimate the Planet’s value."
Jamie couldn’t care less for Ikerth’s reverse psychology tactics. What he wanted to know was where the remaining 65% Ruindeum went to!
"It goes to fuelling an Army. Not just Ikerth’s army, but his Master’s."
"...what? That prideful Lizard? Bowing before someone? Preposterous."
"If you know who it was, then you’d understand why he did."
Miranda chuckled when she heard Jamie’s words. She understood just how prideful Ikerth was so she was even more shocked than Jamie was when she discovered this.
But like she said, it all made sense when she found who this Master of Ikerth’s was.
"It’s someone both of us unfortunately happen to know."
"We know them? Who is it?"
When Jamie asked this, Miranda’s expression turned grim and she spoke.
"The Dead Zone, where Ikerth was.
Remember how it came to be."
The Dead Zone was a part of the Universe that was irreparably damaged. A completely dead portion of the Universe.
Laws didn’t work there and powers were corrupted and eaten away by the desolated space.
It was a ’True Void’ within the Void.
Jamie could not forget how such a place came to exist.
Not when he was at the centre of the events that led to its formation.
Even after hundreds of millions of years had passed, Jamie could still remember it like it was yesterday. And so could Miranda.
Since the time that they, the Six Hybrids had gained power surpassing the Peak of the Universe, that was the most difficult battle they had ever fought.
All Six of them, against just One Man.
And in that battle, the five Complete Hybrids nearly met True Death.
Not ’Death’ in the conventional sense—the cessation of all biological functions that sustain a living being—that could not happen to Hybrids.
But ’Death’ in the sense of ’Existence Erasure’.
Their Hybrid Regeneration couldn’t help them against that.
Even Jamie who was Erasure Immune had sustained grievous wounds in that battle. Wounds that didn’t heal within mere seconds or minutes like usual but years.
This made one wonder just who this opponent of theirs was.
It was a man who had witnessed the rise and fall of several intergalactic civilizations over millions of years and had come to a realisation of his own.
"Why waste the Resources of the Universe, creating these civilizations and all, if they’re all just going to fall and be destroyed in the end?"—he questioned.
To him, the vast majority of sentient lifeforms were nothing but leeches who consumed the Universe’s limited resources but never put them to good use.
He then declared.
|The Universe is filled with dirt. You sentients who cannot be satisfied with what the Universe has granted you, going on to greedily and thoughtlessly consume the Universe’s resources to build civilizations doomed to fail are the dirt of the Universe.
And I would do the Universe a favour of cleaning out this dirt. I shall be ’THE JANITOR’ who cleans up this Universe. |
His declaration amounted to the fact that he wanted to kill All Living Beings.
Truth be told, he wasn’t the first with such claims and declarations so people were not surprised at this and didn’t see his declaration as a problem.
The problem with him, however, was the fact that this man had the power to fulfil said Deceleration.
He began his campaign of Destruction, destroying stars, depriving many Planets of sunlight and eventually killing all the beings living on them.
He wiped out entire Galaxies from the Universe, and came to be called the Destruction Supreme, known also by many titles like the ’Lord of Ruination’, the ’Extinction Monarch’ or the ’Oblivion Reaper’.
Unsurprisingly, there were many people who shared his views on the Universe, and they joined up with him, forming his Extinction Legion, with the most powerful beings serving as his Heralds who led the Legion’s troops.
It is not known what the thoughts of his followers were, but this man intended to truly end all Sentient Lifeforms in the Universe, including his followers of the Extinction Legion—including himself.
He created something to enable him to achieve this goal. A tool he called the ’Annihilation Catalyst’.
It could allow him to sacrifice half his power, providence and possibly his life (Authenticity unknown), in exchange for the guaranteed death of all existences in Existence Realms lower than his in the Universe.
It had a weakness in the fact that beings with Power on par with, or greater than his could detect him activating this thing and stop its activation with their own power.
So to use it, he had to take out the beings with power in those categories first; namely, the Hybrids.
The Hybrids had reached an Existence Realm greater than the Universe itself just like he had, and his attempt to take them out was what resulted in the battle of the Dead Zone.
He initially tried to take them out one by one, unfortunately, his first target was Olivia, the youngest of the Cathedral siblings.
She had two very protective elder siblings who quickly came to her aid and turned it into a 3 on 1 fight.
Even then, the Destruction Supreme could still match them in combat.
This prompted Richard to call for help from Sarina and Miranda, and with Miranda came Jamie.
This heralded the greatest battle in the Zanerth Universe’s history, which concluded with ’The Janitor’/Destruction Supreme’s death.
The crisis had ended—or so everyone thought. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"Don’t tell me something like he revived, Miranda. I erased his existence. Did the exact same thing to him as he planned to do to the rest of the Universe!"
As Jamie spoke of ’Existence Erasure’, his Void manipulation powers were stirred. A thin layer of dark blue light manifested above his skin, spreading out and devouring the space around him.
"No one in this Universe has the power to reverse my Absolute Existence Erasure..."
"Calm down, Jay. The Destruction Supreme is gone. Like you said, you erased him from Existence."
"If so, then why are you bringing him up now?"
When Jamie asked his, the ’void’ that he was exuding retracted within him and Miranda heaved an internal sigh of relief.
While she accepted that Jamie would never harm her, her instincts which had been honed over millions of years were screaming at her to get out of Jamie’s range, as his ’Void’ was one of the only few things which could ’kill’ her.
"The Destruction Supreme is gone, but his legacy, unfortunately, still lives."
Jamie wanted to say something but Miranda held up her hand to stop him, before continuing.
"There’s a NEW Extinction Legion, and that Legion has been around far longer than we would like.
Their base is somewhere within the Dead Zone, and their number one source of weapons was none other than Ikerth.
He has become a Herald of this new Extinction Legion."
