"I feel like I can hear certain liquids sloshing around inside my body every time I move."
"Put your superhuman hearing to better use, please."
Miranda chuckled upon hearing Jamie’s retort to her statement, a fulfilled smile appearing on her face as she remembered the events of the last few hours.
Naturally, that was her and Jamie going at it like rabbits in heat for hours.
After living a long time, some people got numb to carnal pleasures and didn’t really see any point in it anymore, but not her.
Even more so because it was with Jamie.
’Well, it’s not like I’ve done it with anyone else before...’
Such a thought crossed Miranda’s mind, and it prompted the memory of how her relationship with Jamie began, which in turn brought up an unpleasant memory.
’Tsk...Olivia.’
At that time, it was not a mistake to say Olivia Cathedral, the last-born child of the ’Witch of Chaos’ who had turned them into Hybrids was her rival in love.
It was also not a mistake to say that she would not have realised her feelings for Jamie had changed to feelings of love if it wasn’t for the ’threat’ Olivia posed.
In hindsight, Jamie always had his eyes on her so Olivia was never going to be successful, but she didn’t know this at the time.
"Why’re you frowning all of a sudden?"
Jamie questioned as he emerged from his subspace with a double-seater couch held up in one hand, and immediately, Miranda banished all thoughts of Olivia from her mind.
Naturally, that banished the frown on her face as well.
"Just remembered something annoying."
"That so?"
Jamie put down the couch and the two sat down on it, after which they proceeded to have some hot chocolate while they watched the stars.
Normally, one would be on a planet, watching the moon and the stars, but not these two.
With their comprehensions in the law of gravity, it was a walk in the park to attune themselves to the moon’s gravity, so they were not floating around uncontrollably.
As for why they were on the moon, it was simply because they were about to have a conversation that could not happen on a Planet.
Planets had ’Records’, in which every single activity that took place on them was documented. These Records could be perused by beings with Authorities of Knowledge like Jamie did when he was trying to find out why his Blue Moon Castle ended up at the bottom of the Arnmouth Ocean.
’Speaking of which, it’s still there.’
Anyway, Miranda did not want her words recorded anywhere, that’s why they were NOT on the planet.
Jamie’s Irregular nature which messed up the laws of Balance would naturally distort the laws of knowledge, making it nigh-impossible to peruse Records that have him in it, but Miranda did NOT want to take any chances.
"So, who’s going first?"
"You.
Who’s Daniella, and why have you been after her for over 500 million years?" 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Miranda had to admit that she had been unusually patient regarding this issue. I mean, her lover had been chasing after another woman’s shadow for that long and she hadn’t yet tried to strangle answers out of him.
What’s more, he even let himself be desiccated and had his power stolen, because of this ’Daniella’.
She’d be lying if she wasn’t curious.
"Sure. No point hiding it this time anyway.
In return, you’d explain exactly why you’ve had your eyes on Zotov, what you were planning for Ikerth and that planet."
But besides that, there was something else Jamie wanted to know even more.
"You’d also tell me who that guy is."
Jamie remembered Miranda’s words when she had moved his castle to the Arnmouth Ocean.
[’Seriously, we killed ’that guy’ millions of years ago.’]
[’That guy’ is closing in on Estea.’]
Jamie wanted to know just who this person was, and how they made Miranda wary enough to change the slumbering Jamie’s location.
Miranda knew Jamie’s full power more than anyone else in the Universe.
She also didn’t know that his power had been stolen at the time, so she should have been working with the assumption that his full power was still there even while slumbering.
And yet, she still made the decision to change Jamie’s location and even cloak his presence.
Why?
Just who was after Jamie that made Miranda wary so much?
"Don’t forget to add why you incited the Werewolf and Vampire kings to wake me up."
"...fine, I’ll talk."
Miranda’s voice had a disgruntled tone to it, and Jamie turned to her with narrowed eyes when he heard her reply.
Feeling his gaze boring into her, Miranda silently looked away before muttering.
"I’d say everything."
"That’s what I want to hear."
Jamie nodded as he took a sip from his mug, before heaving a sigh and speaking.
"Angela Cathedral..."
"?"
Miranda raised a brow in question, wondering why Jamie had suddenly brought up the woman who turned them into Hybrids when Jamie spoke up once more.
"Angela Cathedral...is a twin."
"?"
Again, Miranda had a confused look on her face, but this time, it only lasted a second.
Immediately, her brain computed exactly what it was Jamie was saying.
Angela...Daniella.
’Similar sounding names...!’
The ’Daniella’ Jamie had been after all this while, was Angela’s twin sister that no one knew about!
The consensus in the Universe was that by the time Angela Cathedral showed up in the Vela Galaxy over a billion years ago, all of her family members besides her children were already dead.
But Jamie’s phrasing.
He said Angela is a twin, not was a twin.
This meant Daniella was still alive somewhere.
"Me, Olivia and now you.
We are the only three people who know Daniella is Angela’s twin."
"Wait, John and Richard don’t know?!"
"They’ve seen her before, but they don’t know she’s their mother’s elder sister."
Again, another bombshell that shocked Miranda to no end. Leaving aside the fact that Angela was actually the younger twin, it surprised her that even Richard, Angela’s eldest child did not know that Daniella was his Aunt.
"They too, believe every single member of their mother’s and father’s family are dead.
They all perished in the incident that led to Angela becoming known as the ’Witch of Chaos’..."
Angela’s title wasn’t always there from the beginning. She had gained it along the line, and the event in which that title originated from was the greatest tragedy in the woman’s life.
Due to certain circumstances, the people of her home Galaxy murdered every member of her family, with her sister barely surviving.
Only her three children whom no one besides her husband knew about were unscathed.
This tragedy of her family led to tragedy for the entire Galaxy.
It all culminated in the event where Angela killed a Galaxy.
It was after this, that the drifting Angela entered the Vela Galaxy and found a new home on Apex World Estea.
"Okay. I understand that Daniella is Angela’s twin sister.
So why are you after her?"
"That too, is quite simple."
Jamie leaned back and sighed softly, before beginning to speak.
"Hybrid.
The offspring of two beings of different species.
By that definition, it stands to reason that there is an innumerable number who exist across the Universe.
However, when someone says Hybrid on the Interstellar Stage, everyone knows they are not referring to the innumerable halflings that exist, but Six peculiar individuals.
Six Individuals who were the results of Angela’s...experiments."
Looking at the twinkling stars in the distance, Jamie raised his hand as if trying to reach for them.
"In the process of trying to create those Six, Angela had thousands of failures...which are what we know as the Incomplete Hybrids."
That was the title given to Angela’s failures—the ones who survived, that is.
Hence why the Six Successes were the Complete Hybrids, and of those six, only Jamie was the Perfect one.
The fact that Jamie possessed ’Immunities’ to his constituent Racial Weaknesses while Miranda and the others just had ’Nigh-Immunities’ was a dividing gulf that separated them.
"Her three kids, me, you and Sarina.
We were the only successes Angela had in her goal to create a Hybrids."
Hearing the name of the Sixth Hybrid, Miranda wondered just where in the universe that one was as she hadn’t seen or heard from them in millions of years.
"I would very much like for things to remain this way, with there being only Six of Us.
That’s why I’m after Daniella."
Turning to face Miranda, Jamie concluded.
"Because Daniella has in her possession, the last...material, required to successfully create a Hybrid.
The Blueprint."
"..."
Miranda went silent from shock. All these years, she had never known there was something like a Blueprint for their creation.
Throughout the process, she had never seen Angela refer to anything that looked like a Blueprint of any kind, as such she was having a hard time believing it existed.
But the rational part of her mind told her that Jamie wouldn’t spend millions of years chasing after Daniella if it didn’t.
"Actually, you know who Daniella is, though you have not met her."
"Wait, I do?!"
"Yeah. Ever heard of the ’Witch of Mercury’?"
Miranda’s eyes widened in surprise when she heard the title Jamie called. She wondered how she hadn’t made the connection earlier.
Mercury was the name of Angela’s Home Galaxy, one as ancient as their own Vela Galaxy which had existed since the formation of the universe.
The last ’Origin Witch’ of that Galaxy was known as the ’Witch of Mercury’, and she was rumoured to have been a survivor of the ’Witch of Chaos’—Angela’s, rampage.
