Chapter 158: Unspoken Truths and Desires

In the Universe, certain things must exist.

A Beast of the END whose job was to one day bring the end to a certain powerful Planetoid, Realm or Galaxy was one.

Even if you found this beast in its infancy and killed it, another one would be born somewhere else that you would not be able to locate.

This powerful metal that conducted Destruction Law Energy, was unfortunately one of such things.

You could not eradicate Ruindeum from the Zanerth Universe—it was simply impossible.

And one planet must exist with the highest reserves of the precious metal somewhere in the Universe.

That planet was Zotov.

It was because of this peculiarity that Zotov’s ego was so strong despite the fact that its sentience had just formed.

After all, Zotov had an ego more developed than High-Level worlds—that wasn’t normal.

Anyway, if Miranda destroyed planet Zotov, then one of the many millions of planets across the Universe with Ruindeum would suddenly see a surge in their reserves, and over time, they’d eventually gain as much, maybe even more Ruindeum that Zotov had.

Miranda, wouldn’t know which planet that was, so she would not be able to keep her eyes on it and the Ruindeum may fall into the wrong hands.

This was why she had not simply considered destroying the planet.

But this led to another question. Exactly whose hands were the wrong hands she was wary of the Ruindeum falling into?

◇ ◇ ◇

"All right, Mira. Spill it."

Such was Jamie’s words as he reappeared in a room on one of the other planets of the Laizuno star system.

It was one of the houses Miranda had acquired when she was scouring the Laizuno Star System in the past to see if Zotov was the only one with Ruindeum, and Jamie had noticed a teleportation beacon she left there with her energy on it when he was floating around in space during the past week.

As such, he used that beacon to open a spatial channel and pulled Miranda through it.

Granted, this was something another Half-Deity would not be able to achieve, but the Child of Space which was Jamie, did it so causally that one would think it was normal.

Mind you, it was NOT.

He appeared in the large hall that served as the antechamber of the mansion, but before Miranda could say a thing, the doors on both sides slammed open and dozens of armed guards barged in.

|WHO DARE-?!|

The one at the forefront had his words hook in his throat the moment he saw Jamie’s face, immediately dropping down on both knees and bowing with his head touching the floor.

"This lowly servant greets His Majesty!"

Hearing his words and seeing his actions, the other guards all reacted with surprised expressions, and they quickly dropped down on their knees and greeted in the same manner.

"Hmm? Oh, you brought Argent Knights here, huh?"

Jamie remarked casually as he saw the Knight Captain kneeling before him, and Miranda nodded before tossing a purple gem to the man on the ground and saying.

"Spread it. Then leave this place."

"Yes, Your Majesty!"

The man replied with intensity in his voice, and Jamie chuckled lightly before gabbing Miranda and warping them out of the room.

Left behind, the man finally raised his head and picked up the gem, seeing it was a memory gem containing records of everything that had happened on Zotov from the day Jamie and Miranda arrived to the day Ikerth was defeated.

Instantly, he realised that Miranda wanted this news to be spread across the Interstellar Stage, and she wanted to be the first to do so, which would allow her to control whatever rumours would be born as a result.

◇ ◇ ◇

Jamie took Miranda to the place he sensed was the Master Bedroom, sitting her down on the bed as he stood before her with his arms folded and repeated his first words on this planet.

"All right, Mira. Spill it."

However, to his ’request’—

"..."

—Miranda had no answer to give.

Still, this didn’t deter him as he continued speaking.

"Ever since Ikerth showed up, no, since the day we were at the beach and you sensed Ikerth incoming, your mood has been swinging around.

One moment, you’d be all smiles and the next you’d return to being annoyed at ’something’."

Jamie had long since noticed this, along with how she suppressed this ’anger’ on a daily basis.

The problem here was, he didn’t know the source.

He was patient, waiting for her to tell him of her own accord, but she clearly wasn’t willing to so he was going to get his answers himself. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"What is it that’s vexing you? Tell me everything.

Starting from your original plans for Zotov, the reason you had Eliroth and Emlihn come here, and most importantly, the real reason you’ve had Zotov and Ikerth’s Ruindeum business on your Radar for the past century.

Oh, and I almost forgot. How about you throw in the real reason why you incited the Vampires and Werewolves to wake me up, and why you said you didn’t want to meet me initially."

With each question he asked, although Miranda’s expression remained unchanged, Jamie could tell her mood soured even more.

She looked away to avoid meeting his gaze, but he wasn’t having that right now. Jamie used both hands and forced Miranda to look at him as he demanded.

"Start talking...now."

He didn’t usually take this attitude with her, but just as ’desperate times called for desperate measures’, Jamie had deemed it necessary to act this way to get her to speak.

All would be fine, if Miranda chose to speak of her own accord, but—

’She’s still remaining silent.’

Since trying the easy way didn’t work out, he decided to go about things the hard way. He stopped limiting his passive energy infusion, and let his True Voice flow out of his lips, calling a name that made Miranda flinch.

| Mirandelinea. |

"?!"

Her reaction to the name Jamie had was not surprising, as this was her name. Her True Name, from which the ’Miranda’ people knew was shortened.

The true name of any being is the closest thing to their soul, and touching their true name means touching their soul—the root of their existence.

Besides her parents who gave her that name, Jamie was the only one who knew the full name; she trusted him enough to tell him.

In calling her by this, Jamie had indirectly said to her:

’You trust me enough to tell me your True Name; something that can be used to control you. Is what you wish to keep from me so important that it could trump that?’

She knew the unspoken message Jamie was trying to pass across; it wasn’t the first time he had done this and she knew herself well enough to know it would not be the last.

"...fine. But only if you tell me who that Witch was."

At first, Jamie was confused, but then he remembered the circumstances behind him being desiccated 12,000 years ago and understood what she wanted to know.

"Sure, I’d even tell you about ’Daniella’ if you want."

Though he said ’if she wanted’, both of them knew that she was about to ask for that next.

Miranda nodded in affirmation, and seeing this Jamie heaved a sigh of relief he didn’t even know he was holding and looked down.

"But first..."

It was then that Miranda’s voice echoed in his ears and when he looked back up, she took advantage of their proximity and slammed her lips onto his faster than he could react.

The world faded as their mouths met, the heat of the moment searing through him. Her kiss was demanding, a blend of passion and dominance, her hands gripping the back of his head, holding him in place.

As she pulled away, her breath brushed against his ear, warm and tingling. She whispered seductively, posing a question that Jamie had not expected in this situation.

"Didn’t you say you wanted to plunge yourself into the deepest parts of me and repaint my insides with your colour?"

Before he could react, her lips traced down his jawline to his neck and with a swift motion, she sank her fangs into his flesh.

A sharp pain shot through him, quickly followed by a strange, numbing pleasure. He felt the pull as she drank from him, each draw sending waves of both pain and ecstasy through his body.

It allowed Jamie to understand one thing at that moment.

Behind Miranda’s unwillingness to ’burden’ him with grave news she knew he would NOT like, the woman was also very horny.

A smile crept onto his lips as he whispered back to her.

"You forgot the part where I was going to toss you onto the bed and rip that dress right off you."
