Chapter 150: Dragon vs Werewolf

’Curse Breath!’

A torrent of murky dark red power spewed from his mouth with the force of a water jet.

The Curse Breath engulfed the area, its sinister energy spreading out like a dark wave. Those caught in its path felt their magic power wane, and their movements grew sluggish as the curses took hold.

Dornik, Terrion and the other Transcendents tried to block it, but the curse energy melted through their barriers with ease and dripped onto the soldiers below.

"Incendiary Deluge."

Miranda unleashed her purple flames in a wave, burning through the curse energy with their overwhelming power.

However, the few seconds she needed to do this, gave Ikerth the time to charge up an actual Lava Breath and unleash it in her direction.

Nevertheless, the breath never reached its mark as Jamie appeared right in front of her and snapped his fingers.

"Void."

Space distorted and a portal rimmed with azure spatial power bloomed into existence, sucking in the breath with a vivacious appetite.

Ikerth could instinctively tell that this portal was different from the one he created before and his destruction energy could not overwhelm it.

He willingly cancelled the Lava Breath, before turning around and swiping his claws to block Miranda’s attack from his flank.

’Too many people around...’

"Jay, displace."

Understanding Miranda’s intent with just those two words, Jamie slammed his palms together, whisking her and Ikerth from their position in an instant.

The spatial power was so strong that Ikerth could not resist it even with his destruction energy. Yet, with immense effort, he was able to break out of the spatial channel midway.

High above the ocean, space shattered and Ikerth burst out of the cracks, looking around to see Miranda already waiting for him.

’I’m seriously trying NOT to use a second Unique Skill.’

Miranda mused inwardly as a massive shadow was cast on the ocean water in front of her. The waters roiled and roared, heralding a colossal tsunami that bore down upon both Dragon and Hybrid, threatening to drown them in its deluge.

Ikerth roared defiantly and unleashed powerful crimson flames that heated the water to boiling point in an instant, transforming the deluge of water into vast billowing clouds of steam that veiled the battleground in a misty haze.

Miranda swirled the steam around and conjured a whirlwind of purple fire that barrelled towards Ikerth with cyclonic force.

Ikerth beat his remaining three pairs of wings and flew up into the air at hypersonic speed to evade the whirlwind of purple flames.

Yet, despite the fact that he flew kilometres in an instant, the whirlwind did not seem to be getting any further.

’This...spatial power?!’

Ikerth realised that Jamie had used spatial expansion on the space he occupied. This allowed not only the initial whirlwind but also the twelve subsequent ones to assail him.

Blood painted the air as his scales were torn and his flesh gouged by the fiery vortexes.

Jamie flew through the whirlwinds of fire, completely unscathed due to Miranda’s application of Selective Destruction and seized Ikerth by the neck, locking him in a chokehold.

With a swift motion, he hurled the dragon towards Miranda, who promptly delivered another powerful Megaton Swing, sending Ikerth crashing through the air.

***KAABOOOMMMM!!!

As Miranda’s flame-infused sledgehammer met Ikerth’s body, they ignited into a colossal explosion. The momentum from her hammer propelled Ikerth through the air at incredible speeds.

Beneath him, the ocean waters parted before he soared over Eawin, eventually smashing through a chain of isolated mountains in a remote part of the continent.

Beaten, battered and lying on the floor, Ikerth vomited a mouthful of black blood, before forcing his body to his feet.

’Pseudo-Authority of Fire: Flames of Life.’

His was covered in a shroud of healing flames and his wounds began to mend, however, the powerful law energy was too much for the ground beneath his feet to take.

It caved and Ikerth plunged through the earth’s crust and into a sea of magma below.

He sunk deep into the molten rock, letting the lava seep into his body and aid him in removing Jamie and Miranda’s residual energy that was stuck within them.

’This...should be enough.

The moment he had that thought, Ikerth’s body surged with power and the lava around him began swirling into a storm with him at the eye.

His magic power surged as his soul fragment achieved 100% synchronization with his avatar, allowing him to finally assume his true form.

Intense heat radiated outward, making the air around him shimmer. His skin darkened, taking on the texture and hue of the molten rock. His broken scales regenerated, covering his entire body in protective crimson armour as it rapidly grew bigger.

From his back, his three remaining pairs of magnificent wings erupted with a new wingspan of over 100 metres, each membrane shimmering like a veil of flame.

His face elongated into a snout, filled with rows of razor-sharp teeth, and two extra imposing horns sprouted from his skull, curving back and upwards like deadly crescents.

Lastly, his tail transformed into a spiked weapon, each spike as sharp as a dagger and glowing with an inner heat. It thrashed behind him, leaving trails of fire in its wake.

Fully transformed, Ikerth emerged from the ground and soared into the skies, radiating intense magic power and destruction law energy that made the space around him quiver.

The two Hybrids who just arrived looked up at the Dragon soaring into the sky and Jamie couldn’t help but comment.

"Your human form was Phase 1, your Dragonoid Form was Phase 2, and now your True Dragon form is Phase 3.

Most times, Phase 3 is usually the end."

Miranda sighed and facepalmed at Jamie likening Ikerth to a video game boss, but her eyes suddenly widened when she sensed Jamie’s energy surging.

"Jay?!"

"What? If he’s gone and taken his true form. We gotta at least respond in kind."

Just as Jamie said that, a ripple of energy surged across his body, causing his muscles to bulge and swell dramatically.

The ground beneath him seemed to quake as his body weight increased exponentially.

The layers of fur covering his hand spread to cover the rest of his skin, shimmering under the light like moonlit water. His fur bristled with vibrant energy as his stature grew, expanding upwards and outwards until he stood at a staggering 40 metres tall, dwarfing even the largest of trees and structures around him.

His face reshaped, elongating into a lupine muzzle with a powerful jaw lined with sharp, gleaming teeth. His eyes glowed with an intense azure light, reflecting a wisdom and ferocity that was both ancient and primal.

Massive paws replaced his hands and feet, each digit tipped with gleaming silver claws that looked sharp enough to cut through stone like butter. Muscles rippled beneath his fur, each movement showcasing a strength and agility that belied his enormous size.

’This should be just enough.’

Jamie’s size could be manipulated as he wished, but he saw no point in making it bigger than it already was. This was perfect to match Ikerth’s size, after all.

With his transformation complete, Jamie’s massive werewolf form exuded an aura of raw power.

He resembled the god-killing Wolf from the myths of the Asgard Universe, Fenrir.

Facing Ikerth’s towering dragon form, the two of them looked like creatures from legends, ready to clash in an epic battle that would shake the very foundations of the planet.

It was at this point that Miranda decided to take out her phone and turn around, before taking a selfie with Jamie and Ikerth in the background.

This short action did not go unnoticed by the two but they simply ignored it as they roused their energies to attack.

Their combined auras were heavy enough to be felt across the entire planet, allowing everyone to know that their battle was reaching its climax.

For a moment, there was silence, and in the next, the two behemoths charged towards each other at hypersonic speed.

Ikerth beat his wings and dashed downwards while Jamie crouched and then leapt into the sky.

Dragon and Werewolf crashed mid-air, their claws meeting each other in a battle for dominance.

Jamie roared and used his razor-sharp jaws to bite Ikerth’s shoulder, with the spatial energy around them enabling him to tear through Ikerth’s scales and energy coat like butter.

Ikerth released a roar and infused powerful destruction energy into his teeth, clamping his jaw down on Jamie’s shoulder and ripping out both fur and flesh.

The two landed on the ground and forced themselves off each other before Ikerth flapped his wings and ascended to the skies once more.
