Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 149: Phase 2: Half Wolf Form
Thankfully for Miranda, Jamie’s attention was taken off from her to the pillar of crimson magic power shooting up into the sky from where Ikerth had fallen so the man didn’t question her further.
But just as she heaved a relieved sigh, he spoke.
"I’d play with your own ears as well later."
Her body twitched and her cheeks turned red as Jamie casually revealed he had seen through her thoughts.
Jamie just chuckled lightly and patted her head before dashing towards the giant 6-ringed magic circle floating in the skies where Ikerth was.
Drawing nearer, he saw the Dragon flying in the sky above the canyon, his hands raised above his head as he finalized his spell casting.
"Lava Magic: Lava Star!"
A dense amount of destruction and flame law energy surged from his body and was absorbed into the magic circle.
After this, the magic circle blazed with an intense, blinding light, expanding and morphing into a colossal ball of swirling molten lava, spanning four kilometres in diameter.
The ’Lava Star’ loomed ominously in the sky, a harbinger of doom which could be seen or sensed from every corner of the continent.
Its searing heat was felt even by those farthest from its trajectory, and If it were to hit the ground, it could potentially obliterate a quarter of the planet’s surface, leaving devastation in its wake.
Caring not for his men who would be caught in this blast, Ikerth gestured with a sweeping motion of his hand, and the ’Lava Star’ plummeted from the heavens with terrifying velocity.
Facing this cataclysmic threat, Jamie swiftly descended to the ground, reaching into his subspace to draw forth his Galaxy Sword.
He then took an overhead stance and activated his Pseudo-Authority of space as he waited for the Lava Star to approach his effective range.
The instant it did, he swung his sword down and unleashed a Dimensional Slash. This surge of spatial law energy amplified by his Pseudo-Authority ripped through the fabric of space-time and cleaved the Lava Star in two clean halves.
Without missing a beat, Jamie pivoted and unleashed another Dimensional Slash, this time in a horizontal arc.
The two slashes intersected, creating a cross-shaped rift that further divided the Lava Star into four fragments.
The very heart of the star, poised to explode, instead collapsed and was drawn into the tear in the fabric of spacetime, vanishing into the void.
The tear in space-time hadn’t even closed when a streak of purple light shot into the sky, right towards Ikerth who was attempting to prepare another attack.
Naturally, this was Miranda in her Half-Wolf form.
"Explosive Fist. Elemental Overture."
She released a full power punch which broke through Ikerth’s hastily constructed barriers and broke his crossed arm guard, sending him flying through the air.
Ikerth spun uncontrollably, flapping his wings wildly to regain his balance and stabilize himself in the air.
When he finally achieved this without bashing through a mountain, he saw Jamie floating in the air, at the edge of the planet’s atmosphere.
"Black Starfall."
His skill activated and his concentrated magic power was unleashed in the form of a gravitational vortex above his head.
This Vortex served as a focal point for multiple miniature black holes to form. These black holes were small in size compared to celestial ones but were still incredibly powerful.
"What the fuck?!"
Ikerth cursed as he stomped his foot on the ground beneath him and triggered multiple volcanic eruptions.
Streams of Magma shot out of the ground around him like geysers. The pressurized streams of magma shot towards the mini black holes devouring space and very quickly forming red accretion disks around them.
Having dealt with real black holes, Ikerth knew the best way to handle these mini ones.
He consumed his magic power to draw more lava, overloading them with so much Mass that they quickly reached their maximum absorption limit.
They then violently vomited it all out and exploded with a force that sent Ikerth into the distance. What’s more, the explosion distorted space and Jamie snapped his fingers to completely shatter the space, creating a rift which Ikerth fell into.
Over ten thousand kilometres away, the rift’s exit manifested and Ikerth fell out of it, crashing onto the back of a dragon in the sky.
They both tumbled down to the ground, crashing into a towering metal spike jutting from the ground with a resounding impact.
It only took Ikerth a second to realise where he was—the battlefield where Dornik and Terion were fighting against Tasir.
Jamie had used him to knock Tasir out of the sky.
Dornik and Terion didn’t even hesitate to release their full power attacks on both of them and Ikerth’s reaction was explosive...literally.
He ignited his magic power, causing geysers of lava to burst from the ground unpredictably across the battlefield. The pressurized streams succeeded in killing off two Inferior Stages before Ikerth redirected them at Dornik and Terion.
Terion quickly conjured a shield made of metal to intercept the lava streams, but the intense heat caused the shield to melt away rapidly.
However, Ikerth didn’t even care about Terion anymore as the dragon flapped his wings and ascended to the skies with powerful magic power gathering in his mouth.
’Dragon Breath!’
The dragon released the hyper beam of lava in Jamie’s direction and in response, Jamie countered with a Negative Space Beam.
"Shit!!"
Terion cursed as he roused his law energy and created a massive overhead barrier right before the two collided in the sky.
Their collision of power instantly shattered the sky, fragmenting the fabric of space and from within the cracks, one could see the void outside the planet’s atmosphere.
All the Transcendents who saw this felt cold sweat as they could instinctively tell that anyone who went too close to those cracks would be sucked inside and yeeted outside the atmosphere.
Miranda blitzed in behind Ikerth, her sledgehammer pulled back and swirling with flames as she took a hefty swing at the dragon. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Reacting swiftly, Ikerth raised his claws to parry her attack. The sheer force of their weapons clashing sent shockwaves rippling outwards, pushing back anything and anyone within miles of their confrontation.
Dornik and Terion, as well as the other Transcendents, were surprised to see Miranda’s half-wolf form, but the woman didn’t even spare them a glance.
She swung her sledgehammer again and bashed Ikerth into the ground, before chasing him and continuing her chain of attacks.
Ikerth blocked her strikes with his claws and the two very quickly began exchanging strikes over and over again, each one releasing waves of power that shook the tectonic plates of the continent.
Just when Ikerth was about to unleash a strike to meet Miranda’s swing, the gravity around suddenly him inverted. His body was abruptly lifted off the ground, throwing off his balance and causing his attack to miss its veer off course.
Seizing the opportunity, Miranda struck true, her sledgehammer connecting solidly with the side of Ikerth’s head.
**BAAMMM!!!!
The force of Miranda’s Megaton Swing sent Ikerth spiralling upwards. As he struggled to regain control, Jamie swooped in from the opposite direction and attacked with the Galaxy sword.
"GARG!!"
"GARG!" Ikerth’s roar echoed through the battlefield as Jamie’s blade sliced through two of his wings and left a gaping wound in his back, blood spilling freely.
Using the momentum from his attack, Jamie pivoted in the air, delivering a powerful kick that sent Ikerth hurtling towards Miranda, who was already in position, sledgehammer at the ready.
"Megaton Swing."
With precise timing, Miranda swung her hammer, connecting solidly with Ikerth’s back. The impact sent the dragon soaring even higher, blood showering down upon the battlefield below.
Colliding with a Liberation Front Transcendent caught off-guard, Ikerth used the unfortunate soul as a point to stabilize himself mid-air.
He drew in a deep breath and condensed magic power in his throat, but instead of the expected red-hot lava breath, the dragon released something else.
’Curse Breath!’
