Chapter 135: A Memory of Yore III

"Huh? They blocked it?"

The man was clearly surprised as he had used enough power to turn Level 700s to ashes; he didn’t expect that the two children could deal with such an attack.

It was then that he looked at their faces and recognition flashed through his eyes.

"This just got a whole lot troublesome..."

If the Westley or Scott Clan heads came to know that there was a Witch and a Pheonix intruding on their territories, there would be hell to pay.

"There’s no way they would not have guards nearby. We have to either take them or get out of here quickly!"

The Witch was already half a second away from activating the bracelet on her hand to create a spatial rift which would take them off the planet, however, the Pheonix man stopped her.

"Wait! Those two...they’d be an even better choice than this Vampire we captured.

Although they’re weak, that’s only because of their age. Even so, they are 15-year-olds with power comparable to Inferior Stage Legendary Realms.

What’s more, they are Ancient Breed Werewolves...they’re definitely the better choice."

The Witch seemed to see some sense in his words and her hand lowered from the artifact. Her eyes narrowed in the direction of the two fleeing teens before speaking.

"Then let’s capture them quick!"

As she spoke, her magic power had already circulated to construct a spell circle and the vines on the ground came alive, shooting towards the two teens with the intent of ensnaring them.

She had used a weak spell to prevent detection by the beings outside the forest, however, Jamie and Miranda were strong enough to deal with a spell this weak.

Jamie drew his sword and filled it with spatial power, slashing at the vines while Miranda let her purple flames loose.

Simultaneously, he tried to send out an emergency signal but the Witch, already having foreseen this, had used magic to interfere.

Seeing Jamie’s sword, the Witch frowned and spoke to the Phoenix with her.

"These kids...they can use Law Essences!"

"Wait, for real?! Damn...fucking prodigies."

Jamie ignored their conversation and filled his sword with spatial power, while Miranda augmented it with his flames.

Together, they released a beam of power that shot high up into the sky, above the sea of trees.

"They’re trying to draw attention here."

"It’s pointless. Lady Cathedral’s barrier is not something they can deal with.

Those Race Kings outside would still see the scene of a normal forest. They cannot peer through her specially constructed barrier."

The Witch was calm, fully confident in the second barrier they had deployed underneath the one placed to prevent the monsters of the Forest from escaping.

As such, the Race Kings who were looking for Jamie and Miranda outside the forest could not see the two teens fighting for their lives.

Of course, this only applied if they didn’t enter the forest themselves, something the guards were not stupid enough not to do.

The instant they passed through the second barrier, they noticed its existence, but their first course of action was to save Jamie and Miranda whom they had instantly found.

"Isn’t this place supposed to be Forbidden?! Why did they enter without hesitation?!"

The Witch finally lost her composure when they entered. It wasn’t that she could not fight them, but the fact that doing so would cause her to release enough power that one Jamie’s father who was on the other end of the continent would definitely notice.

To a being who can move faster than the speed of light, such a distance might as well not even exist!

"Authority of Fortification!"

"Burning Death!" 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

The Phoenix stopped holding back when the guards came into the fray, using his flames to destroy the shield one of them had created in front of Jamie and Miranda.

"Flame Construct: Arms of Restriction!"

He moulded the flames into giant hands and grabbed the two teens with them, before closing the distance between them in an instant.

One of the guards tried to block him but the Witch unleashed a Tier 7 spell to keep him at bay, allowing the Pheonix to punch the two in the stomach, easily knocking them out.

All of this happened within the span of a single second, but that was enough time for a certain Race Emperor to notice something going on.

Immediately, an oppressive aura descended upon the area, with a pressure that slammed the bodies of everyone nearby, both the guards and the Pheonix-Witch duo to the ground.

’Powerful!’

That one word crossed the witch’s mind as she struggled to stay conscious under the suffocating pressure. She wiped the blood dripping from her eyes and tried to rouse her magic power, and it was then that a loud noise rang out in her ears.

**SHATTER!!

Her expression morphed from one of pain into one of shock as the three orbs hanging from her waist simultaneously shattered, a wave of fear washing over her as she comprehended what this meant.

In that instant, Jamie’s father who was on the other end of the continent had attacked her with enough power to kill her—A Witch Queen—three times over!

The Pheonix who was holding Jamie and Miranda was no different, knowing fully well that the Protection Charms they had were the only reason they still drew breath.

’I couldn’t even perceive the attack!’

They grabbed their wrists and activated their escape artifacts, which released a surge of spatial power that tore open a rift in the fabric of spacetime.

|DIMENSIONAL LOCK!!|

Robert’s enraged voice pierced the air as he materialized above the forest, tearing through the protective barriers surrounding it with a ferocious energy.

With an outstretched hand, he aimed to seize the Phoenix, however, the Witch, fueled by all her magical power, charged at Robert, unleashing a Tier 8 spell imbued with her Flame Authority.

"Authority of Fire: Flame Nova!"

A blinding light engulfed the entire continent as starry flames erupted, threatening to consume everything in their path.

Reacting reflexively, Robert invoked his Spatial Authority, cloaking the flames in spatial power and banishing them to the void of space.

Unfortunately, in the brief moment it took him to do so, the Phoenix, clutching his unconscious son, plummeted into a spatial rift that sealed shut behind him.

However, Jamie’s father was a Werewolf with high spatial law comprehension. It was not his main forte, but very few existences were better at it than him.

The man first of all smacked the witch with enough force that she crashed onto the ground and created a small crater, but by the time she hit the ground, he had already ripped open the space and chased after the Phoenix.

Miranda’s father appeared a second later, having come all the way over from another planet when he sensed Robert’s aura.

The two fathers dashed into the spatial tunnel, chasing after the phoenix, but lo and behold, the man was nowhere to be seen.

No residual traces, and no signs of any other spatial movements.

The destination at the other end of the Tunnel was a drifting rogue planet a few hundred light years from Estea. They scanned the planet multiple times over but they came up blank.

At that moment, the two men figured out what had happened.

Someone had intervened right after the rift closed up and had taken the Phoenix out of the spatial tunnel.

And this someone was strong enough to do that right under Robert and Thomas’ noses. From the get-go, the whole situation was strange.

Jamie’s father had locked down the entire space, no form of spatial travel should have been possible.

Unless the person who had created those escape artifacts they used, was one with a Higher Ranked Authority in the Universal Law of Space that Robert.

There were very few beings capable of such within the Zanerth Universe.

Robert and Thomas instantaneously transported themselves back to Estea, and Jamie’s father grabbed the half-conscious witch who had been restrained by the Westley Clan Wolf Kings.

"Find out who this bitch is now!!"

The Wolf Kings were already on it without needing to be told, while Thomas spread out his aura to lock down the entirety of the Vela Galaxy.

This action drew the ire of many Race Kings but Thomas did not care, as he scanned the entirety of the galaxy for his Daughter’s presence.

It was then that the Wolf Kings returned with information on the identity of the Witch Queen who had been captured.

Her real name and Clan were discovered and when they heard the name of the Clan, the two Fathers shared a knowing glance.

After all, the leader of the said clan was a Race Empress, someone ’strong enough to snatch the Phoenix right under their noses’.

It went without saying that this Race Empress’ doorstep was where the two fathers appeared next.

Not long after, powerful universal law energy fluctuations could be felt even outside the Vela Galaxy’s encompassing Supercluster.

That day, the entirety of the Zanerth Universe understood exactly why it was that Race Emperors stood at the peak of power.

Robert and Thomas’ rage could be felt all over, an occurrence that would be talked about for tens of millennia to come.
