Chapter 123: Emlihn and Eliroth I

"...Hope you haven’t lost your Assassination Skills."

"Mira, I feel like you’ve been underestimating me a bit too much lately."

Jamie frowned lightly when he said this but Miranda didn’t seem to care, only shrugging before citing one of Jamie’s past actions.

"Well, you have once wiped your own memory so you could learn everything all over again. Can’t blame me for asking, you know?"

"I’m in a situation where I’m down to less than 1% of my full power. Do you really think I’d play around with my memories at this juncture?"

"Yes, Jamie. You are very well capable of doing so."

Miranda gave Jamie a curt reply before turning around and walking over to a nearby restaurant.

Jamie didn’t follow her immediately, instead taking a moment to send a pulse of magic power through his feet, scanning around the entire city they were in.

He noted a lot of black spots in his spatial perception, some of which were quite big; indicators that the persons in question were Transcendents.

Creating a 3D map in his head, he shrugged and removed the disguise that Miranda had put on him.

"I would not be needing any assassination skills for this."

Meanwhile, Miranda who was inside the restaurant already, was being shown to a private room while she sent a telepathic message to the subordinate who was taking up the identity she had created here.

Despite working for her, the person was actually Jamie’s subordinate and only listened to her because she was Jamie’s lover.

They had a twin who had more loyalty to her, but sadly, that twin was a man and would not fit to handle the identity she created since it was that of a female elf.

’Emlihn. Come over to my location.’

February 3rd

Year 2018

A few minutes before Miranda had sent out that message, the Elven Elders of Jopia were having a very important discussion.

One that concerned the fate of their race and its forces on Zotov.

This discussion was sparked by the impromptu attack on Bliteon and the Elven Transcendent whom Althalos had killed.

Heading the discussion, was a male Elven Transcendent from another planet, one who had actually not participated in the little encirclement that Tasir had ordered.

This reddish brown haired and eyed man—Sanev—had zero intentions to fight any wars and just wanted to get the resources his masters had ordered him to get.

He was more of a merchant than a fighter, but it was clear that he did not neglect the combat department from his level.

920

This put him in the Inferior Stage of the Transcendent Realm, a bit lower in power when compared with Bliteon’s Lieutenant.

As he was speaking, one of the young-looking Elves in the room stared at him with a dull expression on her face.

She had wavy light green hair and eyes mirroring that colour. She had long legs and sported the pointy ears of the elves, but hers were shorter than others, enough that they could be completely hidden by her hair.

Just as she was slowly dozing off, she suddenly sensed a familiar pulse of energy pass under her feet and the sensation jolted her wide awake

’?! That magic power...!’

She turned her gaze in the direction of a male elf who had a short head of leaf-green hair but with darker-coloured eyes and short elf ears.

As she expected, she saw that he had an incredulous expression on his face, concluding that he had definitely sensed what she had.

It was then that a familiar voice rang out in her head.

’Emlihn. Come over to my location.’

Immediately, she got to her feet, attracting the attention of all those present as they wondered if she had anything to say.

"I was expecting a guest and they seemed to have arrived. I’d be excusing myself."

She turned around and was about to walk out, but one of the Elders present asked a question that nearly earned them a death sentence.

"This is an Elder Meeting, Emlihn. Can’t your guest wait?"

The woman, Emlihn, turned around and glared at him, flaring her aura which was accompanied by a massive pressure that forced the elf who spoke to their knees.

Gasps of surprise filled the air as not only were they surprised by her reaction, but they were also surprised at the power they sensed behind her aura.

[Emlihn, calm yourself!]

’This fool dared to insinuate I make Ancestor’s partner wait! The fact that I have not killed him is evidence of my calm, brother.’

[Not you are not calm, your transformation is slipping!]

When those words rang out in her head, she snapped back to normal and restrained her aura, before bringing her hand up to the top of her head, noting that there were small protrusions in her hair.

She flattened them before looking back at the other elves in the room and speaking.

"I would be taking my leave now."

Like that, without a care for what they thought, she exited the room and consequently, the entire Tree they were in.

Left behind, Sanev narrowed his eyes at her. He could sense that the power she held was that of a Transcendent, and this was something he hadn’t known before.

’Shadow.’

[Yes, My Lord.]

’Watch her, and inform me of this guest of hers.’

He gave orders for his subordinates to follow Emlihn, and immediately, three black shadows dashed out of the Tree and chased after the woman’s direction.

Emlihn appeared in front of a certain restaurant and by the time she stepped in, her facial features had changed. Though she maintained her green hair and eyes, the face was a completely different one—her original face.

She walked into the restaurant and headed straight to the private room area before knocking twice on the door of one of the rooms.

Just as she opened the door and stepped inside, her attention was instantly captured not by the woman seated at the table that had her hair and eye colour, but by the man seated opposite that woman who was sipping some wine.

"Oh, Hey Emlihn."

"Ancestor Jamie."

Emlihn completely ignored Miranda as if the other Hybrid didn’t exist, and dropped to her knees before greeting Jamie.

"As strait-laced as always, huh?

No need to worry about formalities."

Jamie got her to stand up as he scanned her body with his Pseudo-Authority.

"Oh my, some wonderful developments happened when I was asleep."

"Indeed."

It was only when Miranda replied to Jamie’s words that Emlihn finally took notice of the other woman’s existence and greeted her with a light perfunctory bow.

"Those stinking elves are probably grinding their teeth if they knew about the talent they had let go of simply because they were only half-elf."

Jamie’s words revealed a little titbit about Emlihn’s heritage. She was a half-elf, hence the reason why her ears were not as pointed as the other elves.

From the manner in which she had greeted Jamie, the other half of her blood was that of the Westley Werewolf Clan.

Her Elven mother was a non-Estean, from a planet with xenophobic elves. They banished her mother because the woman had borne a child for a non-elf, and it was the father, a Westley Wolf who tried to bring the woman and her twin children to Estea.

However, the Xenophobic elves attacked the young family on their way to Estea, and when Jamie saw an Estean Spacecraft, carrying a Westley wolf being attacked by elves, he wiped them all out before bringing the family back to Estea.

The family would have died that day if not for Jamie.

Because he liked the way her Westley werewolf father fought to protect his wife and children, Jamie elevated the man’s status in the clan and helped the twins become stronger by providing them with good resources and teachers, sometimes taking it upon himself to train them when he was bored.

All of this prompted Emlihn to swear loyalty to Jamie and in the millennia that passed, she had worked as one of the Hybrid’s assistants.

When Jamie had gone into his slumber 12,000 years ago, she was a Peak Race Lord, and now he could tell that she was now a Race Queen.

A ’Werewolf Race Queen’ to be specific.

The woman disliked her elven heritage and hated all elves except her mother. Though she knew was generalizing and grouping all Elves in the same category as her Mother’s world’s elves, she still hated the long ears all the same.

Her twin brother—Eliroth—the one who had told her to calm down during her little outburst earlier didn’t share that same sentiment.

His hatred for elves was limited to his mother’s home planet.

"I noticed that a lot of you were clustered in one area. What was happening?"

"There was a meeting, regarding what to be done with the land and forces belonging to a dead Elven Transcende-!"

Emlihn’s expression contorted mid-speech and she turned her gaze to the side before cursing out.

"That long-eared bastard!"

Seeing this, Jamie wondered if there was a need to remind her that she was also long-eared, but opted against it. Miranda turned to him with a pointed look, as if having guessed his thoughts but Jamie ignored it and searched for the reason Emlihn had suddenly gotten pissed.

"Oh, those three were inside that big tree, and now they’re suddenly surrounding this building."

With a little quick thinking, Jamie figured out that Emlihn had been followed and the woman’s dulled senses due to the constraints of Zotov made it so it took her a while to notice them.

"Don’t worry about them. Just keep Jamie company for a bit."
