Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 121: Concoctions that make even Witches run away in fear
For Jamie, ’Balance’ was a very important thing.
Especially with the polarity of his law energies, as well as his Vampiric and Werewolf sides.
Using the law of slaughter would inevitably end up with him taking in large volumes of blood, which had a high chance of triggering his Vampire Side to shift out of the equilibrium they were in on default.
Since Jamie’s realm was much lower than normal, the amount of blood needed for this to happen was much lower as well.
’The energy of the law of slaughter has very high synergy with Vampires, and it easily puts them into a bloodlust state.
However, Vampires dislike it a lot since they have a high chance of losing control in that state.
Although Jamie would not lose control and remain perfectly sane, his logic would turn ’chaotic’. Him becoming much more Homicidal would be the least of my problems.’
Jamie could accurately guess Miranda’s thoughts and for a moment the man asked himself whether she had forgotten that he had ’comprehended’ the Universal Law of Slaughter, and had comprehensions higher than every Race King out there.
With his level of comprehension, the man could switch between ’going crazy’ or ’remaining sane’ at will. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
’Is she assuming I lost the knowledge of my law comprehensions or what?’
Before he could ask her about this, Miranda suddenly clicked her tongue in annoyance before glaring at him from the corner of her eyes as she spoke.
"We would not have this issue if a certain someone didn’t decide to let a witch ’have their fun’."
"..."
"You regret it now, don’t you?"
"It’s actually more of ’No’ than ’Yes’."
Miranda rolled her eyes at him when she heard his answer, but under all that, she was wondering exactly why Jamie really let his power get stolen.
If she could read Jamie’s mind, she would have gotten the answer since he was thinking about it at that very moment.
’The ’Blueprint’ needs to be kept sealed, and my power was the best bet at doing so.’
He shook his head before turning towards Adrienna and then drawing in ambient energy of the laws of life and death.
Using them, he formed an illusory chain which he released from his hand, sending it into Adrienna’s body and letting it wrap around her Soul fragment.
"Go get what we want, and when you’re done, follow the chain to our location."
With those words, the chain turned invisible and the last restraints on her broke off. Jamie then sighed before dipping his hand in his subspace and bringing out something else he had stashed away.
It was the Soul Fragment of the Half-Dragon, Half-Vampire Transcendent he had Althalos deal with.
He walked towards the Bliteon Transcendent’s corpse while tossing the Soul Fragment into the air and muttering something under his breath.
"Aspect of the Wolf: Devouring Jaws."
The space above him fractured open like glass and an illusory blue wolf emerged from within, snapping up the Soul Fragment in its jaws and chewing on it before vanishing back into the spatial crack.
"Tsk...and here I thought it’d help my curse resistance."
Jamie muttered with a distasteful look on his face, while Adrienna quickly roused her energy and flew out of the area very quickly.
She didn’t want Jamie to change his mind suddenly and devour her Soul Fragment like he just did to that of the Half Vampire.
With Adrienna gone, Jamie now proceeded to begin the activity for which he needed the corpses of Ikerth’s Lieutenants.
"Mira, please get me Brambus’ Heart and torch the rest of his corpse."
After telling that to Miranda, he used his energy to lift Pirantu’s corpse and bring it closer to the dead Bliteon Transcendent’s corpse and set them beside each other.
"Even if they’re dead, I have zero desire to strip another woman’s clothes off so would you mind handling that as well, Mira?"
Miranda who had just returned with Brambus’ dragon heart in her hands couldn’t help but raise a brow in confusion when she heard Jamie’s request.
"Mind telling me why you want to strip corpses in the first place?"
"Because I wish to dissolve their bodies and their clothes would be unnecessary."
His reply got the other Hybrid curious as she dropped the dragon Heart on a platform of aura she created before washing her hands as she asked.
"Dissolve their bodies for what?"
"To use them as catalysts to repair a body, and strengthen it by leaps and bounds. Since you said one of Ikerth’s Lieutenants is a Summoner, I want to prepare a little something to use against him.
It would also serve as a test for me."
Jamie’s answer didn’t give her all the information she wanted, but since he was going to be doing whatever it was in front of him, she was gonna see it all either way.
By the time she was done with this thought, Jamie was tossing away the last piece of clothing that the Bliteon Transcendent had into a fire he had created, before tossing the man’s corpse into a large cauldron.
"What are you waiting for? Toss the Pirate in there."
"It’s Pirantu, Jamie. Pirantu."
Miranda heaved a sigh as she proceeded to do just as Jamie said, not bothering to question why he just so happened to have a large cauldron in his Subspace.
’The sheer number of things he has stuffed in there over the past million years alone is outstanding. I’m sure even he can’t keep track of them all.’
The woman casually ignored the fact that her own subspace was not much different from Jamie’s.
"Mira, I need your help with some law manipulation.
There’s a limit to how many laws I can fine-tune at once so I need you to adjust your energy frequency to match mine then liquefy the energy and toss it inside the cauldron."
"Kay. What laws do you need help with?"
Jamie placed his hand on his chin for a moment before holding up his fingers and counting.
"Life, Death, Biology (Transmutation), Genes, Morphogenesis, Harmony, and Quantum."
"This is the part where I’m supposed to question ’what the fuck’ you’re creating, but I’m gonna leave that for later."
Some of the laws Jamie was calling were laws people didn’t even know existed. But when one sat down to think about the fact that Universal laws governed every important aspect of the universe, they’d quickly realise that these laws must exist somewhere.
Take a Law like Morphogenesis for example. It was on that guided the process where the development and organization of cells into specific forms and structures.
One very important for the bodies of living beings to be created and continually exist.
There was also the law of Genes which one could use to modify their genetic code to influence physical attributes and characteristics. It was kind of like a ’Sub-Law’ under the Law of Life and needed one to comprehend the law of life to even grasp its ambient strands of energy.
With Miranda’s help, Jamie was able to create a concoction inside the cauldron, transforming the corpses of the Dragon Avatars into a gooey liquid of energy.
"So, what next?"
"We stir it round and round like the witches in the movies do."
"Got it."
Miranda replied to Jamie’s words before proceeding to pull out what appeared to be a boat paddle from her subspace. She then dipped it into the cauldron and began stirring it with a sinister grin on her face.
""Hee-hee-hee-hee.""
The two cackled sinisterly, and the sight of Miranda stirring the gooey liquid which was emitting a dark green smoke while Jamie rubbed his fingers while grinning eerily at the side was one that would scare actual witches if they came across.
"Alright, That’s enough."
Jamie suddenly stopped Miranda, before holding up his phone with the camera facing them. The woman quickly got the hint and made a peace sign with one hand while the other still held the paddle and they took a picture before to ’commemorate’.
"Now, what’s next?"
"I put in the final Ingredient—the reason why the cauldron is this big."
After Jamie spoke, he pulled out the corpse of someone he killed some time ago by stabbing them from their jaw up through their skull.
When she saw the body, Miranda’s eyes widened in surprise for two reasons.
The first was that the soul of the corpse was still present, even though the body was clearly dead. It was as if the soul that should have escaped after death was forced back into the body by an external force.
An external force in the form of Jamie Westley.
The second reason for Miranda’s surprise was the residual energy she could sense.
"Is that ’Negative Life’?"
"Indeed."
The law of life on default was a law on the Positive End of the Spectrum. Hence the energy of the law was inherently positive in polarity.
Death was the opposite. Negative energy, and the Negative end of the Spectrum.
