Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 116: Whispers of the Pantheon
"Those two...how long have they been around?"
"I don’t know."
"..."
Terrion went silent when he heard her reply, as the man had honestly expected a number, or at least something other than ’I don’t know.’
"You know the ’General Calendar System’? The one we currently use?"
"Yeah?"
"Good.
They were there when it was created."
"..."
Terrion did the math quickly in his head. Ten thousand years for each calendar, and currently, they were in the 51st.
That equalled over 500,000 years.
That was over 5 times his lifespan.
"...mind if I ask but exactly how much of that time have you been around?"
He indirectly asked Seren what her age was but the woman only stared at him in silence until he rescinded the question by himself.
"I’m just curious you know?
So many things have happened...everything feels so...quick?
Enough that even thousands of years are not enough for me to completely adapt to everything."
Terrion held up his hand and generated a projection of Zotov in his palm, spinning it around as he spoke.
"At one point, I thought Zotov was ’everything’.
After surpassing Transcendence, I found out it wasn’t. Becoming a Race Lord allowed me to go even further, grasping Laizuno in my palm.
Then Ikerth invaded and I discovered that despite how vast it was, the realm of the Race Lords wasn’t the end of it.
Thanks to your and Zotov’s help, I achieved Race King status, and I thought...this has to be it, right?
And then I discovered the existence of the Universe’s Pantheon. It was then I understood just how large Vela was, how large our Universe is."
The projection of Zotov expanded as he spoke, eventually turning into a projection of hundreds of galaxies, spiralling through the air.
"I discovered the existences of the Main Entities of the Universe, and I wondered if I’d ever be at their level."
He then leaned forward, dismissing the projection of the galaxies he had created vanished into thin air as he spoke.
"Then I find out that the Main Entities, the older Race kings, beings like you and the rest of the other existences lurking in the shadows...all of you, seemed to hold a single group of six people with so much reverence...."
Locking eyes with her, he concluded.
"...and fear."
Terrion could never forget how he felt on the day he discovered this, even more shocking than when he discovered how large the universe was.
"It was incomprehensible to me.
Thinking about the sheer number of Race Kings in the universe, the sheer number of beings I can sense are also in the pantheon of the Universe along with me, the Main Entities...all of you; are scared of six people.
Do you understand how absurd that sounds to me?!"
"It may sound absurd Terrion, but that fear is not baseless.
Maybe it’s because the ’Jamie and Miranda’ you met, was the idiot couple having their strange fun time on Zotov."
Terrion twisted his lips slightly when she spoke of the two having their ’fun time’ on his planet which was undergoing its greatest crisis.
"I’ve seen those two crumble interstellar empires as pastimes,
What they are doing on Zotov is nothing compared to that. It’s like child’s play, in every sense of the word."
Seren returned Terrion’s intense gaze with her own as she continued.
"Look at Ikerth, though we may insult him all we want, that Dragon has seen 400 millennia. But in the eyes of those two? He might as well just be a four-year-old child."
Then in Terrion’s case, he was nothing but a 1-year-old kid to them.
"And I assure you, they don’t do it on purpose; I’ve been around them long enough to at least figure that out.
It’s a common trait between all beings as old and powerful as they are."
Before Seren could continue what, she was saying, Terrion held up two fingers and asked,
"Jamie Westley and Miranda Scott...that’s just two of them. What about the other four?
And the Witch of Chaos? Shouldn’t you be more scared of the person who can create these six people that evoke so much fear in you all?"
"That’s a sleeping dog that everyone chooses to let lie...besides, the ’Witch of Chaos’ has been gone for hundreds of millennia now.
As for the other four, that’s common knowledge.
You can’t tell me you don’t know that the other Hybrids are the Witch of Chaos’ children; at least three of them are.
The origins of the last one are something only the other five should k-! Wait, this talk has derailed."
That was quite true as the reason Seren came here was to warn Terrion, not to engage in a conversation about the origins and behaviours of ancient beings.
"Although I was the one who taught you to be very ’thorough’, I don’t want you to be thorough when it comes to Jamie and Miranda.
You might discover something the Main Entities don’t want you to and if you earn their ire, even I can’t do much to help you.
Please Terrion."
The woman got up from her seat and looking at Terrion, she decided to end the conversation.
"Ikerth is just a phase, one you’d definitely survive.
We all have gone through such phases, and though I cannot compare mine to yours—given that no being in the universe dares to invade Estea—I can assure you that it’s going to pass.
You can take Laizuno as your Territory, rule over all the other planets here, go even further and conquer other solar systems, and make your presence known, so no one would assume you’re just some run-of-the-mill guy and try to bully you like Ikerth."
Turning around, Seren began walking away while leaving one last line for him.
"When you’ve grown strong and influential enough, these things I’m telling you not to try finding out now would WANT you to find them out."
Right after that, her body erupted into a pillar of blood-red lightning, before vanishing from Zotov’s moon in the blink of an eye.
Seeing this, Terrion only shook his head before flinging away the papers he had in his hands.

Unnamed City Market
Ridrea
Oyend Continent
February 2nd
Year 1053
Barely two weeks had passed since Oyend had been ’liberated’ from the rule of the Dragon Army, so naturally, signs of their presence were still very visible in every city on the continent.
It was now that Jamie had actually taken a proper look at the Continent’s state, and he had to say, he was quite impressed.
The infrastructure created by the dragons, the level of advancement when compared to what he knew of was far higher.
"Ikerth’s upped his game, huh?"
"He succeeded in escaping one of the vastest realms of existence and attained Race King status, and he’s already an Intermediate Stage.
There’s a big difference between him now and the poor dragon whose soul you traumatized years ago."
Jamie chuckled lightly as he remembered Ikerth’s expression when he tossed his clan’s artifact into the void all those years ago.
"Race Kings..."
When the man thought about what that title meant, and how to get that title, it did appear to be a world of difference between the old Ikerth and the current Dragon King.
The Realm of Existence that Ikerth, Terrion and Waldron were in, was just one of the requirements to become a Race King.
In the Intergalactic Stage, calling yourself a ’King’ without being in that realm might provoke the real Kings to hunt you down.
That’d be an insult to their dignity.
But in the end, the realm was just the minimum requirement, and the least important too.
The most important was that one was a member of the Universe’s Pantheon.
The word’ Pantheon’ could be defined as the particular set of all gods of any individual polytheistic religion, mythology, or tradition.
This applied to beings of other races besides just ’gods’. The set of beings who were responsible for ruling a certain universe were the members of that Universe’s Pantheon.
Members of a pantheon were known as the entities of the pantheon; the chief members of the pantheon who governed over major Aspects of the universe were the ’Main Entities’ of the Pantheon.
"For example, you have the 12 Olympians of the Olympus Universe."
"Olympus? It’s been a while since I was last there. I think that Titan Kronos was just dethroned by his three sons at the time."
Miranda spoke up with the light of remembrance flashing through her eyes when Jamie suddenly mentioned the Olympus Universe.
"Yeah, that was a long while ago.
Oh, did I tell you that I met the son of Kronos’ Eldest Child when I was Astral Projecting?"

Hey y’all, it’s your friendly neighbourhood author, _michael here. 👋🏽
Well, though I say that, I’m not really in the mood to be friendly...I mean, the novel’s been doing so poorly recently, after all.
The way things are going, I’m beginning to wonder if the novel even has any readers in the first place?
Maybe it doesn’t and I’ve just been putting out a story that no one seems to want to read. It’d be quite side if that turns out to be the case though.
Oh well, this is just me ranting after pulling an all nighter to write and not even seeing a single Chapter unlock.

This has been _michael.
