Chapter 111: Discussing Nicknames and Beach Plans

It might be small when you consider the Merman’s real existence realm, but the soul damage he’d received if it was destroyed wasn’t going to be negligible.

"Even so, the fact that the soul fragment is this large and yet your Avatar is just a mere Sovereign...then your real body is pretty weak. Even Pirantu was better than this."

Jamie shook his head silently as he spoke, comparing the two Sovereign Avatars together. This Merman’s soul fragment was three times smaller and yet he was only just a stage higher than her.

With the energies of the laws of life, death and space, he clenched his fist and crushed the soul fragment inside his palm, using spatial law energy to mute the sounds of the Merman screaming in pain until the eyes of the avatar suddenly went blank.

"I guess killing a Superior Sovereign would be enough for a few Level ups. I’m closer to the Intermediate Stage now...I should reach it by Level 833."

He pulled up his status and looked through it, sighing in disappointment when he saw that besides the Dive skill, none of his other skills had returned.

The man let the water around him wash the blood away from his hands, turning towards the Mermaid whom he had tossed to the side and speaking.

"Next time...find someone better to fuck."

And that line was exactly what Miranda heard the instant she teleported right beside Jamie.

"...what?"

An expression of genuine confusion adorned Miranda’s face, but it quickly vanished when Jamie gave her a rundown of the events that just transpired.

"They seemed to be lovers or something, I guess. But that guy didn’t really care about her, since when I threatened him with her life, he said nothing."

"Oh...I can see he’s as dead as could be, but exactly how did you kill him?"

"I ripped out his soul fragment and crushed it in front of him."

Miranda went silent after hearing Jamie’s reply, heaving a soft sigh and shaking her head.

"Don’t act like that...you’ve done much worse. Should I remind you of the times when you ignited entire worlds just to make a point, Miss ’Violet Inferno’?"

His words made Miranda flinch lightly, after which she looked at him with narrowed eyes and spoke.

"You do know I hate that nickname, Jay. ’Odd-Eyed Wolf goddess’ sounds much cooler. The heck’s a ’Violet Inferno’?"

"Next time, don’t use purple flames to ignite people’s home worlds. And Besides, your skill is called ’Violet Inferno’."

Ignoring the real reason Miranda came over in the first place, the two began arguing about which nickname was better, leaving the Mermaid who swam away as fast as she could.

"Calling you ’Odd-Eyed wolf whatever’ is such a mouthful. I prefer the Violet one."

"I don’t like Titles that incorporate my actual name into them. How would you feel if I started calling you ’Franklin Flames’ or something?"

"That’d edgy as hell."

"That’s how ’Violet Inferno’ sounds to me!"

The two continued their banter for the next ten minutes, only stopping when they were distracted by the noise of one of the underwater structures still burning with Althalos’ golden flames exploding suddenly.

"This is such a pointless conversation."

"Are you just realising this?"

The couple chuckled lightly for a few moments before Jamie finally decided to ask about the state of things on Bliteon.

"I dealt with Ikerth’s Lieutenant. Then I left the rest to Dornik and the others."

When she spoke, she gestured to her back where Jamie could see two familiar-looking baseball bats strapped. He recalled that they used to have spikes, but guessed she retracted them as she obviously couldn’t strap them to her back while they were still spiked.

"Your love of strange weapons never ceases to amaze me. I’d really like to see how you beat a dragon with that."

"I know you would, that’s why I recorded it."

Miranda tossed a glistening purple gem towards Jamie, and when he caught it, he infused his energy into it and downloaded the information stored there into his head.

"Ha! Their reactions are always the best."

The contents of the memory gem made Jamie laugh a bit before he put it away, turning to Miranda and posing a question.

"I have a sealed Mermaid Transcendent in my subspace. Mind helping me force her to get me some of her ’Tears’?"

"Huh? What do you need those for?"

"I want to awaken my Water Attribute skills and gain more resistance to curses. Ikerth’s a fire dragon so using Water is the wisest choice, plus the lizard uses curses as well."

When he explained his reasoning, Miranda nodded in understanding. However, she then pointed out something she had discovered at the time Jamie was asleep.

"Well, Ikerth does not use curses as much anymore.

He seems more focused on the law of Destruction. I heard rumours he gained powers of Extinction, but I don’t know how true they were."

Along with the Law of Destruction, there were two other universal laws that were specialised in ENDing things ’Permanently’. Those were the laws of Annihilation and Extinction.

The three laws were equally difficult to comprehend, but that difficulty was raised when one had already comprehended a law of the same type.

Meaning, if you already comprehended Destruction, then comprehending Annihilation or Extinction would be harder for you to achieve.

It was kind of like a ’balance’ that the Universe forced upon all beings; as the combination of these two laws was never a pretty one.

’I know of a certain Singularity who comprehended all three at once though, but that guy was a bug in all of existence.’

Jamie momentarily remembered his fellow protagonist whom he met during his Astral Projection, before refocusing on Miranda’s words.

"Even If he does truly have extinction powers, he would probably not use them against us.

Unless he’s stupid, he’d use his ’Destruction’ and ’Fire’ laws for his avatar’s Pseudo-Authorities as they are the laws that he has the highest comprehension in.

Without them, he would not have become a ’Race King’, after all."

But even if Ikerth decided to be stupid and use his Extinction powers, then Jamie could deal with him pretty well.

"Seriously, what does he hope to aim for by comprehending extinction? Is he trying to become a Beast of the END or something?"

Thinking about the beings that had powers of Extinction on ’default’, he shook his head with an exasperated sigh.

"Anyway, if you want Mermaid tears, there are still the Mermaids in the other underwater kingdom they built in the seas of another continent here on Zotov."

"But that’s one of the last continents we would be attacking...or the both of us can just go together."

Miranda placed her hand on her chin and sunk into her thoughts, however, despite the serious look on her face, the things she was thinking about weren’t so serious.

Jamie thought she was thinking about their ’Alliance’ with the Liberation Front and the complications attacking a continent they didn’t have plans for yet would bring.

But in reality;

’According to my subordinates, that continent has a very nice beach. If we go there, then Jamie and I can have a beach date before we go kill some Mermaids.

We could even have barbecue ’fish’ too...’

Her thoughts were taking a totally different tangent from what Jamie assumed. In the end, she came to a final decision and nodded with a smile.

"Yeah, let’s go."

Jamie didn’t know exactly why she was smiling when they were considering going to wreak havoc on a Mermaid kingdom and kill thousands of Mermaids, before proceeding to torture the Transcendents to tears, but he shrugged and agreed.

"First let’s leave the ERE zone...the Destruction energy here would interfere if I tried to open a spatial gate from here."
