Being Op With My Broken System: All Limits Have Errors-Chapter 47: Number 28’s turn
Chapter 47: Number 28’s turn
With the announcement of Laura’s victory, the students erupted into cheers. Almost everyone had expected her to win.
Facing the cheering crowd, Laura remained calm as she slowly walked out of the ring, but only after shooting one more hateful glare at Alex.
As for her opponent. The wind mage girl was still conscious and could still stand on her own. The teacher had caught her in the air previously to avoid further damage when she hit the ground.
The girl was currently standing quietly in a corner of the ring with one of her hands hugging her other arm, her head lowered, and a gloomy atmosphere surrounded her as she listened to the cheers of the crowd that were not aimed at her.
A few burnt marks could be seen here and there on her uniform and yellow cloak.
"You did well, kid, don’t blame yourself." The teacher standing next to the girl said with a sincere tone.
Not just him, the vice dean, the other teachers, as well as Alex, felt that the wind mage wasn’t bad at all, and her strategy had been effective. Laura’s casting speed was just too fast, though she probably would have done better if she had a magic item to assist her.
But who would use a magic item in such a small competition?
After she was escorted out of the ring and students calmed down, the next set of students was called on stage to fight.
Although the rest of the fights were exciting for the students, they didn’t cheer as much as they did during Laura’s fight. This made the following fights look dull.
After another hour had passed and most of the students had fought, it was finally Alex’s turn.
"Student number 129 and 28, come on stage!" The teacher called out.
The students excitedly looked at the ring for the students who had been called to appear. Although many of them were currently in a bad mood after they lost to their fellow students, some of them didn’t feel it much since they never thought of entering the top five; they were here to enjoy the show!
As the spectating students chatted about the past fights, two students walked up to the ring.
Immediately after they saw a certain red-haired handsome student with an old-looking silver white cloak, the field erupted in an uproar that was even louder than when Laura had come up on stage.
Forget about his face, everyone recognised the cloak immediately, after all, there was only one person with such a cloak in the entire academy.
Fourth-year student Alex! The famed trash of the academy!
However, this uproar wasn’t the students cheering for Alex, they were laughing at him.
"I didn’t believe it when you said he registered, now I see you were really telling the truth."
"Hahaha, I can’t believe this, did he come to get his ass kicked or does he think this is a writing competition? Ridiculous!"
"I heard he can now use magic, though, looks like he finally reached the Adept rank."
"Listen, my older brother is his classmate and told me that Senior Alex recently reached the Adept mage rank. Do you think he can even connect his star pattern properly? How long will he need to connect a single star pattern, 2 minutes?"
"Connecting it properly? You should be asking if he has even learned how to summon his stars yet, hahaha!"
The ridiculing voices were everywhere in the field, and even some of the teachers had mocking expressions on their faces. One of them was teacher Arnold, who was watching from a rather hidden corner in the field.
The rest of the teachers had strange expressions on their faces as they looked at Alex in the ring. They felt that they should stop the students from speaking any further, but was it even possible to make over five hundred students stop talking? Besides, it wasn’t like they were lying; they were also curious if Alex could form a star pattern successfully since the rumours about him reaching the Adept rank had only spread not long ago.
From where the vice dean was sitting, she gazed at Alex with interest in her eyes.
"Are you going to prove them wrong or are you going to give them more reasons to look down on you?" She mumbled with an expectant look, she was really curious about Alex.
In the ring, Alex had a straight face as he listened to the voices around him and acted like he couldn’t hear any of them, his expressionless eyes fixed on his opponent in front of him.
Alex’s opponent was a boy with a huge build and short brown hair, a purple cloak connected to the shoulders of his uniform, which represented the lightning element!
Looking at the shade of his purple cloak, one could tell that Alex’s opponent was a third-year student; he was Alex’s junior.
Due to his large build, Alex had to raise his eye level slightly just to look at the other party’s face.
"Hehe, I’m so lucky to have Senior Alex as my opponent. Don’t worry, it won’t hurt too much." The boy grinned as he looked down at Alex with his head raised high.
’Arrogant,’ Alex thought. He didn’t reply to the other party’s words, as he thought about how he should deal with this.
Should he toy with the other party for a bit and make him look stupid by dodging his spells, or should Alex just end it immediately after the fight started?
’Hmm, which one would be more effective?’ Alex realised this was a serious matter, he couldn’t decide.
"Begin!" The teacher’s voice sounded in Alex’s ears, pulling him out of his thoughts.
’Ah, whatever. Let’s just get this over with.’ Alex sighed inwardly as his eyes shifted to his opponent.
The boy’s body exploded with the destructive mana of the lightning element, causing his cloak to flutter wildly.
"Yeaaa, get him!"
"Don’t zap him too much, he’s a senior after all, hehe."
"Man, what an easy win. Why wasn’t I his opponent?"
"He’s just dealing with trash, what’s he showing off for?"
Many voices rang out but many of them were cheering to get Alex’s ass kicked.
Laura and the vice dean watched attentively for different reasons. One was watching because she was still confused as to how Alex had beaten two of her guards, while the other was looking forward to Alex’s performance.
The teachers shook their heads in pity for Alex; his opponent definitely wasn’t planning to go easy on him. Well, they would just step him before Alex would get hurt too much.
While everyone had their own thoughts, the year three student had already summoned his stars and was currently forming his star pattern. His speed wasn’t too fast, and he should be done in four seconds.
However, a calm voice suddenly sounded at this moment.
"Telekinesis."
Everyone instinctively looked in the direction of the voice; their eyes almost popped out of their sockets when they saw Alex.
His eyes were glowing with silver white light, and his right hand was stretched toward his opponent with his fingers wide open.
The next moment, they saw the lightning mage being lifted off the ground by an invisible force before he was tossed to the side.
His body flew uncontrollably through the air like a bullet before crashing into the ground at the edge of the ring and then bouncing off to the ground.
Everyone "..."
