Of course, Arabella wasn’t the type to be naive all the time. Her reason for visiting Diana on a holiday morning was because she was curious about Callum’s current situation. Arabella’s expression grew colder. However, she maintained her friendly demeanor to win her future mother-in-law’s favor. "It’s okay, Mom. Maybe Callum still hasn’t gotten over his ex."

"I’m confused by that boy! Edith doesn’t have any special qualities. Why does he fall in love with that woman so easily? Did the woman seduce Callum with a cheap trick?"

"I admit that Edith has many qualities that Callum loves, and one of them is that she’s prettier than me."

"Don’t put yourself down, Arabella! I still think you’re superior to Edith!"

"But, why do you support Cliff marrying Edith if you hate her?"

"Because I don’t want my biological son to go crazy just because he didn’t marry the woman he loved. But Edith was ungrateful and cheated on Callum! So, to improve Callum’s image, I want you to be with him for the rest of his life."

Arabella gripped her future mother-in-law’s hands tightly. "I’m so happy to hear that. So you’re still defending me over Edith."

"Of course, you’re very beautiful and smarter than Edith. Anyway, I pray that you two can get married soon."

"It all depends on Callum whether he has fully accepted me or not."

"If she gets stubborn again, you have to tell me. Don’t let that woman win just because you look weak."

"This is all for Cliff’s own good. I don’t want Cliff to live alone because of that woman’s selfishness."

"Even though Cliff is a member of the board of directors, Edith still isn’t interested in him." She let out a heavy sigh. "I really don’t understand what Edith is thinking."

"Don’t worry, I know Cliff too. Seeing his persistent personality in pursuing Edith, I’m sure they’ll get married soon."

Today, Edith spent the day at home with her boyfriend, but she didn’t spend much time playing hide-and-seek with her little family, the only thing she could do, even though she wanted to do more activities on her day off. She lied to Callum about her lack of sleep, and now she had to face the consequences.

Erdin or Eliana had been on guard duty, but as usual, the couple was easily caught because they weren’t very good at hiding. Then, it was Edith’s turn to be on guard duty, and her first priority was finding Callum’s hiding place.

Both times, Edith played guard, but she still managed to find Callum in a less-than-ideal hiding place. Callum simply hid behind a potted plant, making it easy for everyone to find him. Edith felt like scolding him for being so bad at hide-and-seek.

"Callum, can you actually play hide and seek?"

"Actually, I can play hide and seek. I used to play it a lot when I was little."

Edith rolled her eyes lazily. "Are you lying to me on purpose? I can see you’re not very good at hide and seek! You’ve been losing all this time."

"That’s because you guys are smarter than me!"

"No. But you’re the one who can’t play." Edith snapped her fingers for a moment. "How about we let the kids be the guards again and then come looking for us?"

"That is a good idea!"

Now it was Eliana’s turn to be the guard. It was time for Edith and Callum to find a strategic hiding place so their daughter wouldn’t find them. This time, Edith wanted to hide with her lover. She led him by the hand into their room and then opened the closet door. She entered the closet, dragging him along with her.

Inside the closet, they were the only ones sitting facing each other. Despite the darkness, Callum could still clearly see his lover’s beautiful face. He wanted to make the most of this opportunity. He spontaneously embraced his lover’s slender body and moved his lips closer to her red lips.

"Callum, what are you doing now?"

"Actually, I deliberately acted stupid when playing hide and seek just now so I could be with you like this."

Edith immediately hit her lover’s arm. "You’re so annoying! I shouldn’t have helped you!"

"Since I really like your brilliant idea, I have to make good use of this opportunity."

"What if Eliana sees us actually doing it?"

Callum still kissed his lover on the lips, despite the stuffy atmosphere in the closet. They had only been kissing for a few seconds, but they were already feeling incredibly hot. However, they continued until they were satisfied. Edith, initially worried that her daughter would witness it, found herself thoroughly enjoying the kiss, which was intense.

Even though they were only playing hide-and-seek inside today, Edith was quite satisfied with the fun she had with her little family. She could now sleep peacefully, despite the tense morning atmosphere caused by the arrival of an uninvited guest.

Callum hadn’t actually fallen asleep yet, as he still wanted to enjoy the beautiful scenery before bed. His gaze was fixated on the sweet smile his sleeping lover displayed. He slowly moved his lips closer to hers.

Suddenly, his phone vibrated on his bedside table. When he looked at the caller ID, his face contorted in anger, as it was Arabella. Naturally, he immediately declined the call.

Because he refused the call, his phone kept vibrating. Now he was reading a text message and a photo of Arabella swimming.

"I’m drunk and swimming right now. Come to me, Callum."
