That was my Mistress—the female I had waited hundreds of years for. She was my hope, the one who would make my days less lonely!

Just as I was about to step outside, a call stopped me in my tracks.

"Bai Feng."

I turned around abruptly and saw a small Golden Dragon, the size of a palm, breathing weakly.

"Beast God?"

I quickly retreated back into the tree hollow. It was filled with protective wards that could shield it from the gaze of the heavens, making it very safe.

"Bai Feng, come, have a seat." Though he had become smaller, his personality had not changed much.

I sat down inside the tree hollow. "You’re still alive? How did you come here?"

Long Ze sighed, and the golden light on his body dimmed, making him look no different from a common gecko.

"I was careless while sleeping, and that’s how I ended up like this. But let’s not dwell on it; there’s no time for reminiscing."

The Beast God was still alive! The Beast God was still alive! No matter what form it took, as long as it lived, it was the hope of the Beast World!

Long Ze said, "I’m not doing well. My Divine Body is destroyed, and I fear I can no longer be the Beast God of the Beast World."

I was shocked. "How could this be? What will happen to the Beast World without a Beast God?"

By the time I reached the Golden Dragon Clan, my Pupillary Power was fully activated. The Golden Dragon Clan, to my astonishment, had lost the small female cub shortly after her birth!

I did not linger, searching all around.

For the first time, I found my Pupillary Power insufficient!

At last, I saw several earth dragons carrying a female cub. I immediately flew over, devoured those earth dragons, and cradled the small cub in my arms.

She was Si Yan. She was the Mistress I had watched for hundreds of years. She was my future, my solace from solitude.

I held her quietly.

I took her to my tree hollow in White Eagle City, where Long Ze was still waiting. Back in the tree hollow, I was still catching my breath, holding the cub who was still crying in my arms, looking at Long Ze.

Long Ze intended to send her divine soul to another world, and my heart clenched at the thought; I couldn’t bear to let her go. I didn’t want her to leave.

"Bai Feng."

I didn’t realize my eyes had already welled up, my voice hoarse. "Will she be in danger?"

"No," Long Ze said. "The world I’ve chosen is very safe."

I whispered quietly, "I will help her. With everything I have, with my very life, I will help her."

"Bai Feng..." Long Ze said weakly. "I am going to send her away now. You help me..."

I had no objections to anything that involved protecting Si Yan. Long Ze opened up a pathway I had never seen before. Together, we sent Si Yan through the passage. I saw her soul merge with the body of another adorable female cub. Then, I saw some humans, unlike us, lifting her up.

However, at that moment, I once again felt a strong sense of destiny binding us together. I clutched my chest as a wave of pain spread throughout my body. I crouched down, sweating profusely.

"Bai Feng, what’s the matter?"

The flower bud on my peach tree had grown. But, unlike what I had imagined, it did not bloom larger or more brightly. After blooming, it was already half rotted.
