Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven-Chapter 328: Negotiations
Rak’Tuli looked at her, " Yes child, do you know of them?"
Naledi nodded, " Take me to them, I might be able to help."
They looked at her with confusion then Rak’Tuli looked at Ved, he nodded, he knew Naledi had some connection with the Yeti.
An old pact between their ancestors and her predecessor. The lizardman took them even though the old lizard still looked grumpy.
After they left, a flower bloomed on a tree nearby, none of them had noticed it. They led Ved and Naledi to a giant lake.
This was the home of the lizardman, the lake was so huge it looked like an ocean. They flew above it and headed towards a snowy region.
Tall trees with white leafs covered the land for as far as they could see, tall mountains that reached for the sky were everywhere.
Not as many as in the mountain range but still a lot of mountains. Each one covered in a sheet of snow.
The lizardman suddenly stopped, " We can’t go past here." Ved and Naledi understood.
They were about to continue when the old lizardman stopped them, " He stays." He pointed at Ved.
Naledi looked at him with worry and he nodded at her to go. She flew into the snowy mountains.
After flying for half an hour she saw a village with massive huts made of ice. In that village were Yeti.
Large creatures fully covered in long white fur. They had large hands and feet, she flew in and landed at the centre of the village.
The yeti surrounded her and gave her curious looks but they were also a bit vigilant.
" Oh right." She removed her leaf necklace, her aura blasted out drawing the attention of every Yeti.
They felt their blood cool down and a desire to kneel overwhelmed them. They immediately knew this was their lord.
From what Naledi knew, the entire Yeti clan was bound by blood to serve and protect the Queen of endless winter and her successor which is her.
Her presence drew the leader of the village who under her request took her to the leaders of the Yeti clan.
The Yeti capital city was large with a palace of ice at the centre. There she found the two elders.
Like the lizardman the Yeti were led by two rank 7 powerhouses. However a new one was about to rise which is why the lizardman was so agitated.
Naledi using her authority was able to get them to agree to a meeting with the lizardman.
They meet in a neutral region near a tiny pond of a dark blue liquid that radiated with the laws of water and ice.
Although ice was a law on it oww, it was still under the law of water. Both the lizardman and Yeti would occasionally look at that pond with longing before turning venomous gazes at each other.
The negotiations began, Ved and Naledi learnt the cause of the conflict was this pool of liquid which they called the pond of seas origin.
It had the power to allow both of these water attributed races to grasp the laws much easier and break through to comprehension realm.
Because of that they had fought for thousands of years without an obvious winner.
However the Yeti were gaining an upper hand which explained why they were the least cooperative in this negotiation.
According to them, the pond belonged to their clan, the lizardman territory was the lake not the ice lands.
However their argument made no sense since the lake was only a few kilometres away from the pond and the Icelands were also a few kilometres away.
The area around the pond was actually a dry desert that was a few kilometres in diameter. The pond had absorbed all of the water and ice laws around.
The place was extremely dry and as such, it belonged to neither races. Naledi and Ved sighed, politics was not their strong suit.
He wished Avery was here, she would be able to handle this much better than he could.
Naledi looked stressed as well, normally the two of them would solve their issues with fists but that obviously wouldn’t work here.
The peace negotiations continued with them trying to mediate but both parties were adamant that the pond belonged to them.
" ENOUGH!" Ved shouted, he was really getting frustrated now. " You lot are really tiresome.
You do realise a war would lead to both parties losing a lot of people do you not?" They frowned.
" It’s a worthy sacrifice for the future of our people." The old lizardman replied and the Yeti leader nodded along.
Ved sighed, " Fine, let say you fight and it’s obvious the Yeti has an advantage here and they are mostly likely to win."
The lizardmen frowned while the Yeti had triumphant smiles barely visible below their thick fur.
" But just think about it really, this is a natural treasure with the power to make it easier to grasp the laws of water.
So far you’ve been able to keep it a secret because you’re both interested in keeping it a secret."
They all frowned and gave him a threatening look except Rak’Tuli who smiled softly as if she understood.
Infact she did because that was the same idea she had. If it came down to it she would reveal the secret drawing the attention of others.
Many humans and other races used water laws. Not to mention the pond was not only useful to manifestation realms trying to break through to comprehension realm.
The pond was deep and divided into layers, in fact it was much larger below and the deeper you go the stronger the laws.
Of course the stronger the pressure as well making it dangerous but still, even creation realm might take interest in it.
Ved understood that as well, he saw their looks and smiled revealing his massive teeth.
His deep dragon voice boomed like a drum of war. " Don’t misunderstand, I’m not threatening you at all.
But think about really, if your people are about to be annihilated, would you still keep the treasure a secret to protect your enemies?"
His question made them all frown, they saw the logic in his words and knew that exactly what they would do, burn with their enemies.
He smiled and tapped his giant claw on the hard ground below.
" Now then, ready for a proper discussion are we not?"
