Ascension Online: I Grow Stronger By Streaming-Chapter 38: Mage
Kai looked at the Raiders standing there, he grinned, showing his teeth completely, "Come on now, you guys are all class awakened players, come at me properly." He said, his tone full of mockery.
"You have a pretty loud mouth, well I guess that’s only fair when you are pretty strong, but do you really think you can stop all of us?" The leader asked.
Kai listened to him and then let out a wider grin, "Well I not only believe that, I know it. None of you have made me even try to go all out, that’s weak," Kai replied, he flexed his arm slowly and then locked onto the leader with his eyes.
"I wish I had some more time to take this slowly." He said, then launched, moving like a rocket through the air.
The leader got ready for the clash, his sword erupted with flames as he stomped the ground hard.
"I’ll show you your place." His voice thundered, he slashed downward, leaving a streak of flames through the air. Kai looked at the incoming attack, he planted one foot into the ground and then twisted, allowing himself to change direction immediately.
He evaded the blade cleanly, then planted his foot into the ground, slashing with a backhand for the man’s throat. The leader leaned back quickly, barely evading the attack. He clenched his jaw hard and attacked while retreating, his sword expelled massive amounts of flame that ripped through the air, surging forward.
Kai didn’t try to evade the attack, he pushed through it, the flames swallowed him completely.
’He entered my flames? Why the hell would he do that? Is this dude retarded or something?’ The leader thought, but in the next moment, Kai burst through the flames, covered in a dark red armour, as his clothes had been burnt off.
The leader was stunned to see Kai, he attacked immediately to try and stop Kai, but Kai simply lifted his arm to block the blade.
CLANG!
The sound echoed through the air while Kai stood there unbothered, he looked at the leader and with a smile asked, "Like the armor?"
The leader backed away immediately, making sure there was enough distance between them, he looked at Kai, wondering what sort of monster this was and how he was even in this town to begin with.
"Come on, don’t run away from me." Kai said calmly.
All the raiders looked at him with fear in their eyes now, they for sure knew that Kai was not a weak player.
Kai saw their reluctance and decided to act, he brandished his blade and then shifted into a battle stance, "If you’ll not come to me, I’ll come to you." As soon as he said those words, he prepared to attack, but a magical formation formed in the sky above Kai.
He looked up and it was late, a massive pillar of flames fell from above, right onto Kai.
BOOM!
The attack shook the air and everything that was around. Kai was completely engulfed, not even his silhouette could be seen. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
The leader, seeing that Kai was taken care of, his eyes darted to Mira.
"Haha even if he survives this, he can’t do anything if we have her." He said, rushing toward Mira.
BOOM!
An explosion ripped through the air, the leader who had been running toward Mira stopped and looked, he saw that Kai had cut through the pillar of flames and was looking right at him.
In this setting Kai looked like the angel of death. He shot out of the flames, his face calm as a pond, yet his bloodlust roared out of him like a tiger.
The leader tried to react, but before he could, Kai kneed him right in the chest, throwing him to the ground and sliding across the floor with the leader’s back.
"You never dare to touch what is mine!" Kai roared, he lifted the blade into the air and stabbed down, right through the head of the leader, killing him instantly.

Kai rose from the body of the leader as it shattered into light, he turned around and instantly the three remaining men ran away in fear, but they weren’t the ones Kai was looking for now.
He had his eyes pinned on the person that had cast that flame pillar.
The mage stood far away, a lady, pretty as can be even from the distance. Her hair was crimson red, with deep ruby eyes that matched. Decked in a slightly revealing black and blood red gown with golden accents.
A staff floated beside her, made of polished wood and a blood red crystal floating over it.
She looked at Kai, and a smile formed on her lips, she raised her hands and pointed at him, and instantly the staff lifted, pointing at him as well, a purple magical formation appeared before the staff and instantly a huge bolt of purple lightning ripped through the air.
The lightning was the size of a full person, it crackled with rage as it roared toward Kai.
’A mage huh,’
Kai used his sword to block the attack, the lightning slammed into it and pushed him back instantly.
"Arghhhhhhhhh!" Kai roared as he pushed back against the attack, he waited for the right moment and then turned his sword, allowing it to deflect the lightning, and then in that moment he charged forward.
He shot through the air fast, wanting to reach her before she could cast another spell.
The mage looked at him coming, she smiled and then stopped the lightning, she flicked her finger and her staff changed direction, facing Kai, ready to attack again, but Kai immediately hurled his sword at her staff, it collided and knocked her staff to the side.
He leapt into the air, grabbed his sword and came down for a slash.
The mage reacted fast, she snapped her finger and the staff moved in the way, the sword hit it, but didn’t cut through, barely leaving a mark.
That stunned Kai, he had cut through a lot of things with the sharpness of this blade, yet the staff stood. It could only mean one thing, and that was that the staff was extremely special.
He pulled back fast, landing on the ground, but he didn’t attack again immediately, rather waited for her to get into position.
"Hmmm? Are you giving me time to prepare?" She asked. "How cocky." Her voice was like a soothing song mixed with a raging flame, powerful yet beautiful.
