Alpha's replacement bride is destined mate-Chapter 69 King, You Recognize the Wrong person
Southern Capital Airport
Four hours later, the plane finally touched down. The hatch opened, and Klaus, holding Emily’s hand, descended the gangway slowly, followed by Marx and Heidi.
By this time, a vibrant rosy sunset had painted the southern sky, casting its beautiful radiance upon the earth and illuminating everyone. Emily noticed several Alpha Warriors standing guard on either side of the gangway, their dark green uniforms adorned with the insignia of the Southern Royal Family: Star, Moon, and White Wolf.
As Emily’s gaze slowly shifted, it settled on a man of unusually striking features. He wore a finely tailored dark blue suit with an elegant grey tie that was a harmonious blend of modernity and class. Although he didn’t possess the imposing stature of a northern werewolf, among the southern werewolves, his figure seemed unusually large, almost colossal.
As the rosy glow gently bathed him, the soft light appeared to mesh seamlessly with his temperament, adding a softer, more refined touch to his already handsome face. His face bore the warm contours distinctive of the Southerners, and his skin took on a slight olive hue in the setting sun, lending him a healthy, vigorous appearance. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Behind the man stood two men in black suits, wearing gold-rimmed spectacles, their eyes serious yet their smiles professional. It was evident that these two were the royal advisors of the South. The presence of these counselors only underscored the unique status of the handsome man before them.
The handsome man stepped forward, smiling and extending his hand to Klaus, "Welcome to the South, Alpha Klaus."
His voice was gentle and captivating, "I am Prince Adam, and I am here to greet you on behalf of my father."
"It’s a pleasure to meet you, Prince Adam." Klaus smiled, "This is my wife, Emily."
"Nice to meet you, Luna Emily." Prince Adam looked at Emily and kissed the back of her hand in a very gentlemanly manner.
Prince Adam then introduced Klaus and Emily to the two men behind him, Alan and Abel, both of whom were royal advisors to the South.
"The car is ready, and Alan will take you to the hotel first." Prince Adam maintained a polite smile, "The royal family has arranged a welcome dinner for the two of you, and we’ll see you in the evening."
"See you in the evening." Klaus nodded.
Shortly thereafter, Klaus and Emily got into the car and were driven to the hotel. The hotel where they stayed was the White Moonlight Hotel, which was exclusively used by the southern royal family to host VIPs and was guarded by the royal family to ensure their safety.
Klaus and Emily were given a room on the top floor of the hotel, an expansive presidential suite. With a private cinema, terrace, and a small swimming pool, the suite was decorated in a high-end style and featured the latest design trends.
"Are you tired, love?" Klaus hugged Emily from behind, his warm breath against her neck.
"A little." Ever since the plane landed, Emily had been feeling slightly down, with painful memories of the past constantly plaguing her.
"Your tone doesn’t sound happy." Klaus turned Emily’s body to face him.
"What’s wrong, kitten?" Klaus playfully tapped Emily’s nose with his finger, "Tell me who’s been giving you a hard time. Your hubby will help you take care of them."
"Nope." Emily lowered her eyes, "I’m just..."
"Just what?"
"I just didn’t expect to come back like this." There was a hint of bitterness in Emily’s tone, "In this manner."
Klaus wrapped his arm around her, "No matter what happens, you are now my princess, and whoever dares to hurt you again, I’ll deal with them."
When Emily heard the word "them," she looked up at Klaus with confusion in her eyes.
How did he know it was a ’she’? Did he know what her stepmother had done to her?
"Why don’t we get some rest in bed for a while? We have dinner in the evening, and you need to be well-rested." Klaus said, as he picked Emily up and carried her to the bedroom.
"Just a little nap?" Emily muttered, "You’re not going to do anything else to me, right?"
"Just get some sleep." The corners of Klaus’s mouth turned up slightly, but he didn’t make any promises about what would happen after.
In reality, he did let Emily sleep for a while, but only after he had his fill of her company did he allow her to rest peacefully.
When Emily awoke, she found that the royal advisors had called their room several times, reminding them that dinner was imminent. However, Klaus remained unfazed and allowed Emily to sleep until she woke up naturally, without rushing her.
"You should have woken me up." Emily sat in front of the vanity mirror as Heidi, the maid, brushed her hair.
"Just let them wait," Klaus said calmly. "Even if we’re late, they can’t do anything about it."
Emily shook her head helplessly. At times, she really didn’t understand Klaus’s way of doing things, so she could only urge Heidi to hurry up.
The ballroom was on the most magnificent floor of the hotel, and all eyes were on Emily as she stepped into it on Klaus’s arm. "Whispered the guests, their eyes full of curiosity and admiration," Emily thought to herself.
At that moment, Prince Adam approached them, his demeanor exuding elegance and regal poise. He addressed them in a calm tone, "Alpha Klaus, Luna, this is our special welcome dinner for you, and we hope you enjoy it."
"Thank you for your kindness," Klaus replied casually. "Why didn’t we see the king?"
"My father will arrive later," Prince Adam said, his gaze directed towards the door. Suddenly, the crowd fell silent, and their eyes were fixed on a man who had just entered.
The man wore a perfectly tailored light-brown blazer, his shoulders and waist framing his imposing figure just right. His dark-brown hair, tinged with the white of age, did not detract from his majesty. He stood as straight as a pine tree, and every step he took betrayed the calmness and strength that were unique to kings. His appearance was almost identical to Prince Adam’s, but with a touch more coolness and fortitude honed by experience.
As he entered the banquet hall, the audience erupted in a respectful salute, and the guests bowed their heads in reverence, calling him "Your Majesty." The voices converged like a wave, filled with respect and loyalty.
Prince Adam walked up to his father and introduced him to Klaus, "Father, this is Alpha Klaus."
"You’re Famar’s son?" King James patted Klaus on the shoulder and looked at him with appreciation. "You look just like your father."
"Like father, like son," Klaus quipped.
"And this is Luna of Alpha Klaus, Emily," Prince Adam turned his gaze upon Emily.
Emily bowed her head slightly and respectfully saluted King James, "It’s an honor to meet you, Your Majesty."
As she raised her head, her gaze met the king’s. King James’s eyes were fixed upon her, filled not only with curiosity and scrutiny but also with an inexplicable affection and a sense of perplexity, as if he were searching deep within the recesses of time for a lost memory.
"Diane?" King James blurted out, then clutched Emily’s wrist.
