Chapter 211: Chapter 211 I Come Back

South, Red Moon Pack

Emily took leave of King James, and, accompanied by Dolly, returned to the country where she had been living. Here Emily met Mr. and Mrs. Bowyer, and others, all of whom seemed kind and gracious.

Emily and Dolly lived in Mrs. Bauer’s house, and the kind Mrs. Bauer made Emily’s favorite lemon pie every day. At night Emily and Dolly lay together in bed, and Dolly always told Emily about her childhood.

During her time back in the country, Emily had reacquainted herself with many simple and kind friends, and they got on so well that Emily gradually became familiar with the place where she had lived. She fell in love with the place because it was the place where she could truly experience what it was like to be free.

One morning, Emily said to Dolly after breakfast, " Do you know where my mother is buried? I would like to go and see her."

"Your mother’s ashes are buried under an old oak tree in the woods. " Dolly said, "Do you want me to go with you?"

Emily nodded, "Yes."

Although Emily had been in the country for some time, she was still comparatively new to the woods. Although she was the one who had buried her mother in the first place, she could not for a long time remember where the oak was now.

So Dolly led Emily to the woods, where they followed a winding path. The sun shone like gold, sifting through the dense foliage and creating patches of light on the ground like the broken gold of nature.

The air was filled with the fresh fragrance of the grass and trees, mingled with the fragrance of the earth. Occasionally one or two colored birds flew overhead, and their clear cries resounded through the woods, adding a touch of life to the stillness.

Emily followed Dolly, her eyes weaving in and out of the surrounding scenery, her eyes full of curiosity at the unfamiliar surroundings. Even though it was her old home, the lapse of time and the dimness of memory had given her a sense of familiarity and unfamiliarity with these woods.

Dolly walked carefully in front of her, looking back at Emily from time to time." We’re almost there, Emily," Dolly said softly.

At last, after passing through a thicket, an old oak tree appeared before them. The oak was so thick that it took several men to hold its trunk. Age had left deep marks on its body, and the bark was rough and cracked, as if it had been an ancient tome of history. The branches and leaves of the oak spread out in every direction, like a great green umbrella, casting a broad and cool shade.

" You buried your mother’s ashes under this oak tree." Dolly said softly.

So Emily slowly crouched down, and her trembling hand lightly brushed the weeds away from the headstone. The tears that had been pooling in her eyes came out and dripped on the ground where the memories had been. Her lips quivered a little, as if she would have spoken, but was choked by the tide of emotion, and could only utter a low whimper.

At that moment there was a sudden sound of light footsteps in the depths of the wood. The sound was peculiarly distinct in the still woods. Emily raised her head alertly, and, through a mist of tears, looked in the direction of the sound.

A man with thinning hair and a gaunt face stood in front of Emily, and the moment he saw Emily, the man froze slightly as he blurted out, "Diane?"

Quickly, the man realized that he recognized the wrong person, " No, you’re not Diane, you’re Emily."

" I’m sorry, who are you?" Emily pictured the man before her. He was holding a bouquet of white roses, and his eyes looked a little sad. Had this man also come to pay his respects to her mother?

" Emily, he is Alpha Robert," Dolly whispered to Emily, " He is your adoptive father."

He was the same father who had forced her to marry in the North in the first place.

"You’re a princess now, so you’re pretending you don’t know me, right? "Alpha Robert sneered, "It doesn’t matter, I never thought of you as my daughter anyway."

" Alpha." Dolly explained hastily, " Emily lost her memory, she doesn’t remember anyone."

Alpha Robert’s eyes flashed with confusion, " You lost your memory? Why?" 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"Someone used magic to erase my memory. " Emily replied calmly.

Alpha Robert said no more, but silently laid the white bouquet of roses lightly on the headstone. As Alpha Robert was about to leave, he asked Emily offhandedly, "Do you hate me?"

Emily was expressionless, " I want to hate you, but I can’t."

The moment those former memories were stripped from her mind, she also lost the hate and love she once had.

" I’m sorry that your life has been so bad because of me." Alpha Robert’s low voice held a hint of guilt, " I’m glad you’re not my daughter because I wasn’t a good father."

Emily was silent as she watched Alpha Robert’s figure fade into the woods. The breeze ruffled her cheeks, and carried away one of her tears.

Klaus was in his room, going over his papers, when the twin princesses suddenly burst into the room. " Klaus, We found a way to deal with undead man." Mina said excitedly, "Mercury and epiphyllum can kill the undead."

"Really? " Klaus put down the papers in his hands, he looked at Mina with skeptical eyes," How do you guys know that mercury and epiphyllum can kill undead man?"

"It’s from this magic book. " Maggie held a thick book up to Klaus, she flipped to one of the pages," Look, here’s what it says about dealing with the undead man."

Klaus glanced at the writing in the book. It does say what to do with the undead man : a mixture of mercury and epilobium can kill them by being applied to metal.

" Where did you go to find this grimoire?" Klaus asked.

" It’s a grimoire passed down from our great-grandmother." Mina said.

" It is said that our great-grandmother was once one of the leaders of the Witches Guild." Maggie’s eyes twinkled with pride, " She was a great witch."

Klaus knew that the witches’ guilds were mysterious beings, and that they never showed their faces lightly. But what shocked Klaus was that the twins were descended from witches.

But is it true what the twins say about the way to kill the undead? Klaus was lost in thought.

At that moment, Marx hurried into the room, he said to Klaus in an urgent tone, "We got the latest news, Dyson is gathering troops to the southern border. They were going to attack the South. It is time, Klaus."

Klaus frowned, " Where does Dyson’s army plan to attack the south from?"

" Red moon pack." replied Marx.

" That’s Emily’s old pack," Klaus’ face took on a worried look.

" Emily is at the palace in the south, she won’t be harmed in any way." Marx sensed Klaus’ thoughts and said, " Dyson leaving the Capitol is the best time for us. Klaus, don’t hesitate."

After a short silence, Klaus raised his eyes, and he ordered Marx, "Gather all the Alphas immediately, We will return to the capital."
