Alpha's replacement bride is destined mate-Chapter 113 You Are My Mate
A familiar scent wafted behind Emily, and her wolf couldn’t help but howl with excitement as it approached.
"Elijah, long time no see." Klaus’s voice pierced the woods like a heavy, sharp sword. He came to Emily’s side, his eyes full of tenderness and protection. "Stand back, my love. Now it’s up to me to fight him."
Elijah stood silently in the rain, his gaze on Klaus fierce and malevolent. The powerful aura emanating from the two alpha wolves filled the forest, and everything around them seemed to sink into a deathly silence akin to endless hell. A life-and-death battle was on the verge of breaking out.
Suddenly, the roar of a helicopter echoed in the sky, deafening from far and near. A strong, blinding white light fell from above, illuminating the entire forest in an instant. Emily instinctively narrowed her eyes against the sudden brightness.
At that moment, a tingling pain shot through Emily’s shoulder, like an electric current, and she couldn’t help but frown. Unable to stand on her feet due to a lack of strength, her body began to tremble. Just as she was about to fall backwards, Klaus caught her just in time.
"Are you okay, my love?" Klaus lifted Emily to the side, his voice low and soothing.
That’s when Emily saw two helicopters approaching in the sky, heading their way. Then a whirlwind swept in, and Elijah seized the opportunity to carry off the wounded Heidi, who disappeared at breakneck speed without a trace.
"Elijah, he..." Emily said reluctantly, "Don’t let him escape."
"Leave him alone," Klaus said, unbuttoning his coat and draping it over Emily’s body as he carried her out into an open meadow.
Soon, a helicopter was slowly landing on the grass, and the wind from its propellers sent the blades of the surrounding grass into a whirl. Prince Adam pushed open the hatch and leaped out of the helicopter, his figure unusually steady in the wind. His steps were quick and eager as he made a beeline for Emily.
"Oh, God." Prince Adam looked at Emily’s wound in shock, and the vivid stain filled his eyes with concern. "You’re hurt."
"Hand her over to me," Prince Adam demanded, wanting to take Emily away from Klaus, but Klaus refused.
"I’ll take care of her," Klaus said, carrying Emily towards the helicopter, where he gently placed her in the seat and carefully fastened her seat belt.
Klaus sat beside Emily, and as she leaned against his chest, inhaling his familiar scent, she squeezed his hand.
Her wolf confirmed, "It’s him."
Standing outside the hatch, Prince Adam gave the pilot the order, "Take them to the Royal Hospital immediately."
Then the helicopter’s engines roared again, and Prince Adam stood on the grass, frowning as he watched the chopper fade away.
........
Royal Hospital
Klaus stood outside the room, his eyes fixed on the door. Emily was being attended to by the doctor in the sickroom, and with the curtains closed, it was impossible to see the interior from the outside, so Klaus had to wait.
His wolf didn’t seem to be as patient as he was, and it fidgeted, saying to Klaus, "She’s in there, Klaus."
"I know you want her, but she’s hurt, Lyon. Be patient."
His wolf still didn’t give up, "I can sense that her wolf is strong. Klaus, she’ll be fine."
"Lyon, not now." Klaus reassured his wolf, "We need to take our time."
His wolf snorted and vanished.
There were quick footsteps on the other side of the hallway, and looking up, Klaus saw Prince Adam approaching.
"Where’s Emily?" Prince Adam asked eagerly.
"The doctors are treating her in the ward," Klaus replied.
Prince Adam paused outside the hospital room, a worried look on his face. As soon as the room door opened, Prince Adam walked in briskly and couldn’t wait to ask the doctor, "How’s the patient?"
"We have treated Luna Emily’s wound, and at the moment, she is healing well. I’m sure she will be back to health soon," the doctor replied. "The most important thing now is to give the patient a good rest."
Prince Adam breathed a sigh of relief as Klaus bypassed him and the doctor to go to Emily’s bedside.
"Hey, kitten." Klaus looked at Emily lying on the hospital bed, took her hand, and asked with concern, "Are you feeling better?"
"Yes." Emily gave Klaus a smile and whispered, "Mate."
"Mate," Klaus responded, kissing her forehead. "I almost thought I was going to lose you, Emily. I swear I’ll never let anyone hurt you again."
"Is it too late for you to say this?" Prince Adam’s words fell flat, and he looked reproachfully at Klaus.
It was because you didn’t take good care of Emily that she was kidnapped.
Klaus’ brow furrowed. He let go of Emily’s hand and turned to look at Prince Adam. "Prince Adam, I appreciate your help in finding Emily. Now that she’s fine, I think you should leave too."
Prince Adam looked directly at Klaus. "My father treated Emily like his daughter, so Emily is my sister too. I’m fulfilling the responsibilities of an older brother."
"But you’re not her real brother," Klaus interrupted Prince Adam. "She’s my mate. I’ll take care of her."
"Is she your mate?" Prince Adam was shocked as he looked at Emily on the hospital bed. "Is what he said true?"
"Adam, my wolf has just returned, and she recognizes Klaus," Emily calmly explained. "Yes, we are mates."
"How so?" Prince Adam’s eyes were filled with a look of loss and disbelief.
"Prince Adam, Emily needs a break. We shouldn’t disturb her," Klaus said, opening the door of the room and motioning for Prince Adam to go out.
"I’ll come back to see you tomorrow," Prince Adam said reluctantly.
As Klaus and Prince Adam left the room one by one, the moment the door closed, Klaus lowered his voice and said to Prince Adam, "Prince Adam, you’ve crossed the line."
"I don’t understand what you mean, Alpha Klaus," Prince Adam squinted at Klaus. "Oh, I see, you’re jealous."
"So what?" Klaus approached Prince Adam, his deep voice filled with anger. "You’ve approached Emily again and again. I’ve long seen you as a nuisance. One last reminder to you: Emily is my mate. Do not keep butting your head against the wall."
"You’ve always hurt her. Is that how you treat your mate?" Prince Adam asked, glaring at Klaus. "She deserves a better man."
"Like you?" Klaus said sarcastically.
"I said that I thought of Emily only as a sister," Prince Adam clenched his fists.
"Let me be clear," Klaus said. "The maid who kidnapped Emily was a spy from the West. And when I found Emily in the woods, guess who I met? The Wolf King of the West. I suppose you know him too?"
Prince Adam’s expression froze instantly, and Klaus continued, "There’s no doubt that the maid kidnapped Emily at Elijah’s behest. While I have no idea why he kidnapped Emily, the question is: Why did the Wolf King of the West show up in the South?"
Prince Adam was silent, clearly unwilling to confront Klaus head-on.
"I know exactly what you’re up to," Klaus directly pierced Prince Adam’s thoughts. "You want to remain neutral and avoid uniting with the North to attack the West, but you still want to gain benefits from the West. Am I right, Prince Adam?"
Klaus spoke in a serious tone. "If you hadn’t lured Elijah to the south, how would he have had a chance to attack Emily?"
Prince Adam’s eyes were downcast, and his tone was apologetic. "I didn’t know it was Elijah who instructed his spy to kidnap Emily."
"Now you know," Klaus sneered. "If you have any grievances against me, why don’t we settle them with a fight?"
At that moment, the door of the sickroom slowly opened, and Emily stepped out, one hand on the doorframe.
"Hey, gentlemen," Emily said reluctantly. "I’m afraid your voices are being heard by patients throughout the hospital."
"Emily, why are you here?" As soon as Klaus saw Emily, his tone immediately softened. "You should be resting in bed."
Klaus picked up Emily and closed the door behind him, locking it. "Be a good girl," he said, gently laying her down on the hospital bed. "Lie down."
"Why were you and Adam quarreling?" Emily asked.
"Don’t mention him again," Klaus said, displeased. "It’s a matter between men."
"You’re being too rude to him."
"If you’re not sleepy, I can do something else with you," Klaus whispered softly in Emily’s ear. "My wolf wants you so much."
"Klaus," Emily blushed and said shyly, "Not now."
"Sleep, okay?" Klaus pulled the sheet over Emily’s body. "I’ll always be here for you."
"Your clothes are wet," Emily said with concern. "Why don’t you go back to the hotel and change before you come back to accompany me?"
"I won’t leave you," Klaus insisted. "From now on, I won’t let you out of my sight."
"Then let Marx bring you some clothes. There’s a bathroom in the ward. You can take a shower here," Emily suggested.
Klaus nodded and stroked Emily’s cheek. "Now, close your eyes and sleep well, okay?"
Emily nodded, then obediently closed her eyes. Klaus turned off the lights in the hospital room and stayed by Emily’s bedside until she fell asleep.
In the middle of the night, Klaus gently got up, went out on the balcony, and pulled out his phone to call Marx.
"Did you find Elijah’s flight?" Klaus asked.
"There’s only one flight from the southern airport to the West tonight, and it’s taking off in half an hour," Marx shared the information he had discovered with Klaus.
"Tell the rebels in the West. And by the way, let our people send some weapons to the rebels. They know what to do," Klaus said.
"Yes, Alpha."
Klaus hung up and looked at the dark night sky, lost in thought. Why did Elijah kidnap Emily? Did he have any other objectives in mind?
