Chapter 459: Chapter 176 Hall of Valor_2

"Many gods in the high heavens are still... virgin gods, both male and female, aren’t they? And they live quite long too."

"This is related to the impulse of power," the extraterritorial demon said, stroking his chin, "Explaining it in detail would be a bit troublesome, but all you need to know is that for some deities, physical communion is predicated on the exchange of souls. First, you have to catch up to their footsteps, reach the level of a partner, and then develop feelings of love to advance further."

"Let’s talk about something serious," Xi Mu nonchalantly changed the subject, "Why are you looking for me?"

The extraterritorial demon took a deep drag of his cigarette and after exhaling the smoke said:

"I’m asking if you want to sign a contract. If you’re willing to sign, I will take your soul after you die and place it in the Hall of Valor beyond this world."

"Do you think I’m going to die?" Xi Mu’s voice was eerily calm as he stared at the demon’s cheek, "There aren’t many people left in this world who can... kill me."

"Yes, yes, you are very powerful," the demon said carelessly, "Behind you stand the Witch of Death, the Destiny Witch, and even the Creation Witch; and from the gods, there’s the Goddess of Life, the Goddess of Lies..."

His voice trailed off, and he looked at Ahtal with an odd expression, tugging at the corner of his mouth.

"I don’t know why, but I suddenly feel jealous of you, and I have the urge to punch you."

He hadn’t thought much about it before and hadn’t felt anything, but upon further consideration, he felt completely different. This man... was adored by many formidable women.

Which was very enviable no matter which one you considered.

"So I have no reason to die," Xi Mu said flatly, "And there aren’t many in this world who could kill me outright anymore."

If things were following the normal process, he shouldn’t be this unreasonably powerful by now, but the player abilities he possessed this time were indeed too strong.

It led him to have the illusion that he was a mechanic freak of sorts.

"Normally, nobody should be able to kill you," the demon admitted frankly, "but you’ve already decided to challenge the Flame Giant Surter, haven’t you?"

Xi Mu did not answer.

"... Amidst the onset of Ragnarok, the power of the Flame Giant Surter has swollen to unimaginable levels, maybe even reaching a status equal to that of the God of Omniscience," the demon said, gazing at the cigarette burning down to the end between his fingers, "Challenging the Flame Giant Surter is nothing but... suicide. There’s no chance of winning."

"Then it’s none of my concern," Xi Mu replied, "If I’ve done my best and still died, there’s nothing I can do about it."

The demon fell silent, "Ahtal, do you wish to die?"

"I’m just doing the best I can," Xi Mu responded calmly, "But if I can’t change the outcome, then there’s nothing I can do."

"Just kidding, you’re the only man in this world who has a chance to kill the Flame Giant Surter, apart from the God of Omniscience. You are the only one qualified," the demon suddenly said with a hearty laugh.

He faced Ahtal’s puzzled gaze.

"Go find your nun, she can help you gain the chance to defeat the Flame Giant Surter."

"..."

Xi Mu gave a slight nod, not asking who his nun was. It was all too easy to guess — the only nun in this world who had faith in him.

There was only the blind-folded nun.

"I’ll ask you once more," the demon inquired, "Ahtal, do you want to join the Hall of Valor after you die?"

"Refused," Xi Mu responded without a second thought. He had no interest in the Hall of Valor; he already knew everything about it and also knew the demon hadn’t disclosed all the information about the Hall of Valor. But he didn’t care about those insignificant details anymore.

To follow the path of the King of Ash didn’t mean he had to clear every map; just burning this world down was enough.

"That’s really too bad," the demon let out a long sigh, "A genius like you is... quite rare in the Hall of Valor."

"In any case, this world is about to burn to ashes," Xi Mu glanced at the burned-out cigarette between the demon’s fingers, "Since there’s no future, it doesn’t matter whether I go to the Hall of Valor or not, and I have no reason to trust you either."

"Indeed, the invitation was too hasty," the extraterritorial demon nodded and then began to dissipate. He addressed Ahtal, "I hope next time you can trust me a bit more, although by then you might already be dead."

Xi Mu shook his head, stood up, and left the grand library.

And not long after he had gone,

the figure of the extraterritorial demon appeared. He still sat in the chair, rekindling a cigarette. It was the first time he had grasped the concept of destiny so clearly, knowing that no matter what choice he made, he would step into a terrible ending.

But he had no choice; the Flame Giant Surter was about to escape his seal. If he did not prompt Ahtel to attack the Flame Giant Surter, the world would inevitably burn to ashes.

So, his only option was to choose Ahtal, who seemed the least harmful, to slay the Flame Giant Surter.

And then hope that Ahtal could suppress the power of the King of Ash.

This time, his active descent to converse with Ahtal was never truly about inviting him to join the Hall of Valor. While it would be good if Ahtal were willing to join, the actual intent was to pass on information to Ahtal indirectly.

"Am I now a part of advancing fate?" the extraterritorial demon fell into self-doubt, for he had discovered that the Flame Giant Surter was about to break his seal and realized Surter’s power had swollen to an unmanageable extent. Therefore to avoid the worst outcome, he had driven Ahtal into battle with the Flame Giant Surter.

However, upon reflection, something felt amiss, because it seemed that no matter the choice, they were all the worst ones.

Yet, despite knowing it was bad, there was no other choice.

"Yes, you’ve made a very foolish decision," a cold female voice came through. The extraterritorial demon looked towards the voice and saw the Destiny Witch standing not far away, her icy gaze filled with intent to kill.

She said in a chill tone,

"You shouldn’t have told my disciple that there was a way to defeat the Flame Giant Surter."

"Even without mentioning secrets, wouldn’t he have gone anyway?" the extraterritorial demon asked this, watching the silent expression of the Destiny Witch, before fading into an ethereal shadow and disappearing on the spot.

With the power of being an extraterritorial being, this world had no obstacles for him—not even the site of the Flame Giant Surter’s seal.

Thus, he was the only demon who could meet the Flame Giant Surter whenever he wished.

...

...

In a villa,

Xi Mu pushed open the door and stepped in. He confidently walked to the living room and looked at the blindfolded nun sitting on the sofa. She sat with elegance, the sunlight from the window spilling over her delicate body, casting a sacred yet lonely aura.

"Lord Ahetar, you’ve arrived!" The blindfolded nun turned her head, her voice suddenly lively, the surrounding air of solitude disappearing.

She hurriedly rose to receive Ahtal.

"There’s something I want to ask you," Xi Mu grasped the blindfolded nun’s wrist, sat down on the sofa with her, and said, "I heard that you have a way to help me defeat the Flame Giant Surter, is that true?"

The blindfolded nun fell silent.

Her eyes hidden behind the bandages gazed deeply at Ahtal. This information was supposed to be confidential; no...it should not have been revealed to Lord Ahetar so soon.

Now, the Destiny Witch was trying to find a third possibility; it was not the time to reveal the worst choice to Lord Ahetar.

"So, is there a way or not?" Xi Mu’s voice was unequivocal.

"There is," the blindfolded nun lowered her head and obediently replied. She was Ahtal’s nun and could not deceive Ahtal in any way.

"Then help me," Xi Mu gazed at the blindfolded nun beside him, who gently bowed her head, his voice exceptionally gentle, "accompany me to kill the Flame Giant Surter, will you?"
