The CEO's Wife Is a Medical Master-Chapter 111: Anonymous Report
Juliana Taylor made good on the promise she’d made to the entire class. The students’ seats would now be arranged according to their exam rankings.
And so, Shane Caldwell became Vera Xavier’s deskmate, and Shirley Forrest sat next to Vera. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Shane Caldwell looked at Vera Xavier with a complicated expression, but Vera didn’t spare him a single glance. She simply lowered her head, took out an exam paper, and started working through the problems.
Shane Caldwell asked Vera Xavier, "Did you study so hard because you like me and wanted to sit next to me?"
Vera was genuinely impressed by his wild imagination. She turned her head slightly to glance at him. "Class President, narcissism is a disease. You should get that checked out."
Shane Caldwell’s face instantly stiffened.
Shirley Forrest, who was sitting nearby, happened to overhear this, and the corner of her mouth twitched.
Shane Caldwell looked at Vera, who was focused on her practice problems without giving him a second glance, and his expression soured even more. He wanted to retort with something harsh, but he found himself at a loss for words.
After stewing for a long moment, he finally managed, "Vera Xavier, you’d better not fall for me. You’ll be sorry if you do."
When Vera heard this, she mentally compared his face to Nathaniel Nathan’s, then their respective family backgrounds, abilities, character, and overall competence. She concluded that she would have to be crazy to fall for Shane Caldwell, not when a man like Nathaniel Nathan set the benchmark for what a boyfriend should be.
She couldn’t even be bothered to tease him this time.
「The Principal’s Office」
Principal Gage frowned slightly as he looked at the letter in his hand. Juliana Taylor knocked and entered. "Principal, you were looking for me?"
Principal Gage asked Juliana Taylor, "What are your thoughts on Vera Xavier placing third in the entire school this time?"
After a moment of thought, Juliana Taylor replied earnestly, "Vera placed first in our class this time. It would have been impossible for her to cheat, so I believe she’s genuinely capable of achieving that score. After all, her entrance exam results were outstanding."
Principal Gage nodded and handed Juliana Taylor an anonymous letter. "Take a look at this."
Juliana Taylor’s brow furrowed after she finished reading the letter. "What are your thoughts, Principal?"
Principal Gage sighed. "This was just a practice exam. The score is just a number for reference. The college entrance exam is what truly matters. If Vera Xavier really does have this kind of ability, it would be a great thing for our school. So, we should verify this."
"How do you propose we verify it, Principal?" Juliana Taylor asked.
Principal Gage paced around the room before speaking. "Let’s have the teachers from each subject prepare a random set of questions. That way, there’s no possibility of so-called cheating. It will also silence any students who doubt Vera’s results."
Juliana Taylor didn’t entirely agree with the principal’s approach. However, the fact that someone had resorted to filing an anonymous complaint meant there were people who genuinely weren’t convinced. While the final college entrance exam scores would prove everything, the suspicion in the meantime would inevitably affect the other students and wouldn’t be good for Vera either.
After a moment’s consideration, she said, "Alright, I’ll make the arrangements. I’ll need to discuss this with the other subject teachers."
Principal Gage nodded. "Thank you for your hard work."
When Juliana Taylor returned to the faculty office, she explained the situation to the other teachers. They were all quite curious about Vera Xavier, this dark horse who had come out of nowhere, and were eager to find out if her score was genuine or the result of cheating.
Therefore, when Juliana Taylor proposed testing Vera’s true abilities in class, she received the unanimous agreement of the other subject teachers.
