After work, start to speedrun the other world-Chapter 460 - 177: The Strengthened Seal
"Have you really decided?" the blind nun gently lifted her head, asking Ahtal, "No matter whether you succeed or fail, a tragic end is certain."
"That’s exactly why I must kill the Flame Giant Surter," Xi Mu reached out to caress the blind nun’s delicate face, his fingers gently rubbing her soft cheek, "I have a strong premonition that if I don’t kill the Flame Giant Surter soon, I will no longer have the opportunity to do so."
"The Flame Giant Surter is a being favored by Ragnarok," the blind nun gently rubbed her cheek against the caressing hand, then explained softly, "If you don’t kill the Flame Giant Surter quickly, once his power expands enough to burn the world, there won’t be any competitors left for the title of King of Ash."
"Expands enough to burn the world?" Xi Mu withdrew his hand, asking the blind nun, "Can his power continue to expand?"
"As Ragnarok draws closer," the blind nun truthfully explained to Ahtal, "the power of the Flame Giant Surter will keep expanding, until it is capable of burning the world."
"So it seems my premonition was correct?" Xi Mu nodded, understandingly, as if resolving on a certain decision.
The blind nun also sensed this change, she gently pursed her red lips, continuing to explain the reasons.
"Perhaps, Ragnarok is urging you to overcome the Flame Giant Surter within a limited time. If you can’t win within the set time, it means you have lost the qualifications to become the King of Ash."
Xi Mu asked, "When will I lose the qualifications to compete for the title of King of Ash?"
The blind nun didn’t immediately answer but clasped her hands tightly together, sinking into a state of prayer. Moments later, she lowered her praying hands and whispered:
"There are three months left."
"That’s quite some time," Xi Mu pondered, his gaze lingering on the blind nun’s delicate face, "But how shall I defeat the Flame Giant Surter?"
"Of course, I cannot allow you to confront the Flame Giant Surter directly," the blind nun explained, "I have the authority to nullify the power buff of the Flame Giant Surter, but only during the time you are competing for the title of King of Ash."
Once Ahtal helped her regain her sight, she naturally became the eyes through which Ragnarok watched this world, observing the world from a human perspective, very similar to the existence of the All-Knowing Saintess.
However, there was a difference; she served not Ragnarok but Ahtal, who could potentially become the King of Ash, meant to guide Ahtal in becoming the King of Ash that burns down the world.
But now, she had renounced guiding Ahtal to the King of Ash and chose to respect Ahtal’s own will.
"Able to weaken the power buff of the Flame Giant Surter, huh." Xi Mu’s face showed an unusual expression, and the saintess of the Dusk Cult, as if guessing Ahtal’s thoughts, reluctantly shook her head and explained to Ahtal.
"The precondition for weakening the Flame Giant Surter is the absence of outside interference. If you wish to use the Witch of Death’s power to kill the Flame Giant Surter, that is not permitted by Ragnarok," she gently pursed her lips.
"During your battle with the Flame Giant Surter, I will deploy a barrier unaffected by the outside world. If someone breaks my barrier, or infiltrates through special abilities, then the Flame Giant will instantly regain his power buff."
"Forget it, this is also good," Xi Mu smiled expectantly, "It seems like it might be nice to engage the Flame Giant Surter directly."
"Please don’t be complacent," the blind nun advised, "The Flame Giant Surter is an existence that even the All Gods fear."
As for the existence of the Flame Giant Surter, it hung oppressively over everyone’s chest like a nightmare, and everyone knew that on the day of Ragnarok, he would personally burn this world into ashes.
The lava surging deep underground, the occasional sudden earthquakes and volcanic eruptions were but mere fluctuations of the Flame Giant’s sporadic power.
Yet, those minor fluctuations of power were enough to kill countless people.
"Isn’t that what makes it interesting?" Xi Mu said, looking at the blind nun’s hesitating expression, and shook his head as he spoke.
"I’m hungry, is there anything to eat?" 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"Yes," the blind nun rose up, smoothing her skirt, her voice tinged with a barely detectable nervousness, "What would you like to eat?"
"Grilled Dragon Tail?" Xi Mu joked, but the blind nun nodded in agreement. After pouring Ahtal a cup of tea, she transformed into flames and disappeared from the mansion.
Some time later.
The scent of food wafted from the kitchen, Xi Mu turned his head towards the kitchen where the blind nun was cooking, and began to wait silently.
The reason why many players took the Ash path, aside from being tired of other paths, was the tenderness captured by the blind nun.
They wandered onto the Ash path without realizing it.
...
...
Meanwhile.
Near the Magic Kingdom.
A barren mountain, a tailless Black Dragon lay on the ground, questioning his dragon life; he had just been passing by the Magic Kingdom when suddenly a blind nun appeared, cut off his tail with a flaming dagger, and then just as suddenly disappeared.
"What on earth is going on?" He lay there, wanting to unleash his fury but not knowing whom to vent it on.
He was certain he could not defeat that suddenly appearing nun, and even less dared release his fury on the Magic Kingdom, for the presence of the Destiny Witch was there.
