After Rebirth, I Took Revenge On My Scumbag Ex-Alpha Mate!-Chapter 15: Fake Marriage Contract
KALIA
I didn’t know how to act or answer to that so I simply clamped my mouth shut and remained quiet. He must’ve meant it in a friendly way and I didn’t want to read any meaning to it.
"I told Moira to bring our food upstairs since I figured that you might not be comfortable eating downstairs with everyone staring at us." He trailed off as he began to unbutton his shirt in front of me.
Shouldn’t he be doing that in the bathroom or something?
He finished undoing his buttons and his full body came into view, throwing me off momentarily. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
Then, he pulled the shirt off his body and tossed it on the bed.
His strong, protruding muscles glared directly in my face which I tried to ignore to the best of my ability. Would I have to go through this everyday if we eventually go on with our plan?
Would he always intentionally try to get naked in front of me? When I asked for his help, I never said that I wanted to see all naked sides of him.
"I’m about to use the bathroom so, draft a list concerning what you would like us to add in our contract and I’ll review them when I’m out in a couple of minutes." He said to be and before I could say anything, he walked past me and made his way into the bathroom.
Moira served our dinner minutes later as promised and I placed it on a table before picking up a pen and paper that I found lying casually on his desk to write out everything I can think of.
Darren stepped out of the bathroom after a while and dressed up in a comfy night wear.
"You’re not eating?" He asked, pointing at the tray of untouched food on the table. "Why aren’t you eating? Is the food not to your liking? Do you want to have something else?"
"I...well...it’s not like that—" I was saying but he interrupted by pulling the tray closer as he joined me on the sofa where I was seated.
"Then eat." He ordered. "You won’t be able to make any plans let alone execute them on an empty stomach.
"As a successful businessman, I can guarantee that good decisions are made best on a full stomach so go ahead." He implored, taking the paper where I had written out the set of rules for our supposed contract.
I watch him scan through the paper, his eyes taking in every single thing that I had numbered on that list.
"No sexual relationship, No kissing or public display of affection except when necessary..." He read out to my hearing.
"The contract would only be for three months and after that, both parties are free to have a divorce and go their separate ways."
He glanced at me briefly and continued. "Under no circumstances should anyone find out that this relationship is fake. Each party is free to have another partner and go about their personal business since the contract is fake."
"You must inform me of any big decisions before you make them. We’re a team for the duration of this contract and lastly, we must always have each other’s backs."
I took a bite out of my meal. "Is there anything that you would like to add on your end?" I asked conversionally.
"It’s a two way thing you know so you can also pen down whatever you’d like so I would know. I don’t want to be the only one benefiting from this fake union."
"I have just three." He blurted out. "One, don’t fall in love with me, for no reason at all until the contract is over."
"Two, you will accompany me to all my future important events as my woman and that is non-negotiable. Three, don’t keep any secrets away from me and that’s it."
"Done." I answered sharply. I’m glad that he also sees things my way. I have no desire whatsoever to fall in love with him.
He’s nothing but my pawn on the chessboard. My lucky trump card for getting my revenge and after that, I would simply walk out of his life just as I have come.
"I just have one problem though." I started and he listened attentively.
"Your family. Your father has never approved of me because of my status in the pack. I’m considered a worthless Omega by everyone and after calling off my marriage with Callum, I don’t think that he would take the news of us being together lightly. It might be a little hard on you and it bothers me."
He nodded his head vehemently. "You’re right. He won’t take the news of us being together lightly."
"Sadly, no one will take the news of us being together lightly but there’s nothing to worry about since it’ll only be for a short while. I’ll just have to appease him until our business arrangement is over. It won’t be easy but we’ll think of something."
"Right now, your biggest concern should be your family. According to Charles, they weren’t quite thrilled when they found out that you would be spending the night here with me and knowing them, they must’ve probably contacted my family by now." He commented and I chuckled a little mischievously.
"Like it or not, we have just chartered deeper waters Kalia and there’s no going back now." Folding the paper, he stretched out his hands to me for a handshake.
"Here’s to becoming married partners and achieving all your goals." He said and I took it.
Discarding the papers on the table, he faced me. "So what’s next for your family and are you prepared to face them tomorrow?"
"I’m prepared for anything, Darren." I openly told him. "Honestly, I want them to be pissed. That’s exactly the kind of reaction I wanted from them." I said, pushing my hair backwards.
"I want them to have sleepless nights wondering what I could be doing here. I want them to count the hours until the next morning."
"I want them to feel restless to the point where they almost loose their minds completely. They definitely haven’t seen the last of me. This is just the beginning. That, I can assure you."
