Chapter 75: Chapter 75: Truth or Dare

After talking with my mom for a while, I finally left and sent a message to my dad about the news on my way out of the hospital. He immediately called me back, overjoyed. "Zoe, your dad was framed! I didn’t do anything, now your mom won’t be so angry!"

"Dad, and you have to solve the issue with those photos too," I reminded him.

It’s not just about whether my mom is angry. If we can’t get the negatives back, they might become a fatal weakness in the future. Even if my dad is completely innocent, he can’t refute the existence of those photos.

"I know, I’m also trying to find a solution." My dad calmed down.

"Dad, don’t worry too much, there’s always a way." After chatting with him for a bit, I ended the call.

When I returned to Maplewood Gardens, it was time for dinner. I ate a few bites and then went upstairs to take a bath to relax.

Unconsciously, I fell asleep in the bathtub. If it weren’t for the water getting colder, I could have continued sleeping.

It was late at night, but I couldn’t fall asleep. After putting on my pajamas, I went to the balcony. From this spot, you could see the front gate by just turning your head. I used to love looking out from here, checking if Henry Preston had returned.

When the divorce papers come, I’ll also move out of here.

Maplewood Gardens carries too many humbling memories for me. Living here after the divorce would be masochistic. Better to let Henry Preston reminisce over these objects; after all, he is so cold-hearted towards me, thinking of me wouldn’t make him sad.

I stood there for a while, until I couldn’t bear the cold wind anymore, and returned to the room.

As I tossed and turned, unable to sleep, Crystal Dawson called me, enthusiastically inviting me, "Zoe, come play! It’s Christmas Eve, so many handsome guys are out, I’m dazzled!"

"Not going, I just took a bath and am ready to sleep." I refused, because on such a cold day, the bed was my ultimate goal.

"Then come out tomorrow night. The Nightingale Garden is having a male model Christmas dress-up show, their bodies are top-notch. Not coming would be a lifelong regret!" Crystal exaggerated her words.

I couldn’t refuse her well-intentioned invitation a second time, so I agreed, "Alright."

On Christmas night, Crystal Dawson was calling me like crazy. Even when I was on the way, she was worried I wouldn’t make it, spamming my phone with messages.

At the entrance of The Nightingale Garden, two handsome guys in Santa costumes were handing out Christmas gifts. They held a pretty box, where guests could draw a gift voucher before entering and then redeem a corresponding gift.

Crystal drew a lipstick, Tiana O’Connell grabbed a bottle of perfume, Leah Lane picked a phone case, and when it was my turn, I was so frustrated by the voucher that I wanted to throw it three meters away.

"Durex ultra-thin... condoms??" Crystal snatched it from me for a look, then burst out laughing, "Hahaha... Zoe, go for it!"

Tiana and Leah laughed like fools too.

I glared at them, stuffed the voucher into my coat pocket, not planning to redeem it, but Crystal wouldn’t have it. She dug the voucher out of my pocket, ran to redeem a box of them, and stuffed it back into my pocket with a wink, "Why not take it? If you don’t want to use them, let me use them when I find someone I like!"

"Alright." I was willing to generously give it away.

The Nightingale Garden was indeed bustling today. Attractive people gathered around, some just to relax, others looking for a fleeting romance.

Crystal wore the sexiest outfit and attracted the most approaches, but didn’t find anyone to her liking despite seeing many people.

Tiana found someone she fancied but scared them off quickly by talking about career plans.

Leah was now at peace with no desires, not interested in men at all.

Suddenly, Crystal received a text message, then excitedly dragged Tiana and me to the second floor, "I have a friend here who said there are a few very handsome guys. It’s worth seeing them!"

When we arrived at the private room on the second floor, it was very lively with over ten people.

When I saw Henry Preston, Ivan Underwood, and their group, I wanted to turn around and leave, but then I remembered the unsigned divorce papers and changed my mind.

Crystal, on the other hand, rolled her eyes as soon as she saw Henry, "It’s you guys, wasted my sight, I shouldn’t have come!"

Her friend Angelica Jorand quickly came over, "What’s up, you know them all?"

"Of course, know them. That, that, that, those three are no good!" Crystal pointed at Henry Preston, Jason Forrest, and Silas Lockwood one by one, speaking bluntly.

Henry was watching me from the beginning, with a woman beside him leaning against him, fully epitomizing the term ’affectionate gaze.’

He wore a black shirt, with a perfectly tied burgundy tie, exuding a sense of restraint.

Unfortunately, he wasn’t restrained at all, more like a beast.

After hearing Crystal’s words, Henry’s face turned cold, his eyes like sharp knives.

Ivan Underwood was there too, but Crystal didn’t include him in the scumbag list.

"What did you say, tigress?" Silas Lockwood angrily questioned, "Who called this tigress over here?!"

Angelica Jorand shrunk her neck, murmuring, "It was me..."

Crystal boldly walked up to Silas, smugly patting him on the face, grinning maliciously, "We meet again, brat. Didn’t get enough of a beating last time? Shall I do it again today?"

Silas was a few years younger than her and looked a bit familiar with fear. If it weren’t for the beauties around, he’d probably have grabbed Jason for help.

"Alright, alright, we don’t have any deep feuds. It’s rare to gather for fun today, let’s not fight," Jason Forrest, ever the good friend to Silas, spoke up to redirect the focus.

"Yes, yes, yes, Crystal, we’re about to play Truth or Dare. Want to join?" Angelica quickly chimed in.

After all, she was the one who invited us.

I wasn’t familiar with Angelica, but she certainly knew Henry and I were married, and just didn’t expect me to be with Crystal today.

I glanced at her, and she was looking at me too.

Crystal used her eyes to ask for my opinion. Since Henry was here, if I didn’t want to play, she’d definitely choose to leave with me. She and Angelica were casual friends for eating, drinking, and having fun, but she and I were more like sisters.

"Let’s play." I happily accepted.

"Then let’s play, explain the rules!" Crystal dragged me to find a seat, and Tiana and Leah quickly followed and sat down.

Angelica pointed at a stack of wine on the table, "The rules are simple: spin the dial, whoever it points to first gets to name someone. The chosen person can select either a truth or a dare. If they can’t do either, they drink a cup of wine as forfeit."

Simple and exciting.

Silas was already eager to start. There was a dial built into the table with lights on when opened. A silver needle stood still, but once you pressed a red button next to it, it would spin quickly and stop randomly, pointing to someone.

A group gathered around, eyeing the dial.
