Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Sucking Red Marks

When she first woke up, Jessie Sterling knew Victor Morgan had just come out of the bathroom, but at the time, she hadn’t paid much attention to what he was doing.

Now she knew.

Looking at her pajamas and intimates hanging on the clothesline in the bathroom, Jessie’s face, which had finally cooled down, instantly flushed beet-red again.

The thought of Victor Morgan hand-washing her clothes—and her most private intimates, at that—made Jessie feel her whole body flush with heat.

"What is he doing!" Jessie muttered under her breath, grumbling, "I didn’t ask him to do the laundry..."

However, when Jessie sat down on the toilet and glanced down, she saw several purplish fingerprints on her thighs. Her expression immediately soured.

Jessie lifted her nightgown toward her stomach, and just as she’d suspected, her waist was another disaster zone. Her skin was very fair and bruised easily. Lynn Jennings had once teased her that if she ever slept with someone, she hoped it wouldn’t look like she’d been beaten.

Jessie remembered punching Lynn Jennings for that comment, but looking at the marks on her body now, she had to admit her friend might have had a point.

Across her waist and stomach were not just distinct fingerprints, but also the faint pink traces of kisses and bites.

Jessie lowered her nightgown, muttering, "Animal."

When Jessie stood before the vanity mirror and saw the vast expanse of skin on her chest, exposed by the straps of her nightgown, she decided she was going to make Victor Morgan cook for her for a whole month!

’What in the world is this!?’

’Is this man a dog?’

’Why are there bite marks everywhere?’

Jessie was furious. How was she supposed to wear a pretty dress for photos later?

’I’m furious!’

When Victor Morgan entered the room carrying a tray of the freshly prepared dishes Jessie had just ordered, he found her sitting on the sofa with her arms crossed, glaring at him.

"What’s wrong?" Victor asked. "Have you been waiting long? I..."

"Hmph!" Jessie cut Victor off with a loud scoff. She’d been sitting on the sofa for a while, stewing and plotting how to put him in his place.

Jessie raised her arm. "Victor Morgan, look at this!"

On her wrist was a very distinct, red hickey.

’And there were plenty more marks just like it on her chest!’

Jessie’s brow furrowed, her heart a mix of anger and embarrassment.

’What on earth was this man thinking?’

’I’m not a piece of sugarcane! Does he think he can suck sweet juice out of me if he just bites down a couple of times?!’

Victor Morgan’s gaze fell on Jessie’s fair wrist. He had to admit, the red mark on the inside of her wrist was indeed a little too conspicuous.

For a rare moment, Victor felt a bit awkward. He rubbed his nose, set the food down on the small table, and cleared his throat. "Sorry," he said.

"...I don’t accept!"

These days, people who would refuse an apology from Victor Morgan were few and far between. And as for Victor himself, he felt it had been many years since he’d heard anyone refuse him.

So when he heard Jessie’s words, Victor was a bit taken aback.

After a moment, Victor lowered his head and asked with genuine humility, "Then what do you want me to do to make it right?"

"You have to let me bite you back!" Jessie said quickly.

Clearly, she had this answer ready.

She had been sitting there for a long time, mulling it over, and had decided she had to give him a taste of his own medicine.

A strange glint flashed in Victor Morgan’s eyes when he heard her demand.

His gaze fell on Jessie’s face. "Are you sure?"

Jessie nodded. "You can’t fight back..." After a moment’s thought, she added, "And you can’t make any moves. Also, and this is the most important part, you can’t touch me for a whole month!"

When Victor Morgan heard her first few demands, he felt they were tolerable. He had been a bit unrestrained yesterday, after all.

His wife was so soft and smelled so sweet that she’d made him act like a hot-blooded teenager with no self-control, nearly losing all composure.

But...

"A month?" Victor’s brow furrowed.

Even though they were negotiating, Victor moved naturally, placing the dishes from the tray in front of Jessie and handing her a pair of chopsticks, silently suggesting she eat while they talked.

Jessie scooped up a spoonful of seafood risotto. It was fresh and delicious. "In that case, two months?" she said, her words muffled by the food.

This time, Victor’s response was much firmer. "No, that’s too long."

Jessie gritted her teeth. "But you were the one who asked what it would take for me to not be angry. This is what it takes."

She was as stubborn as a young bull when she dug her heels in.

Victor couldn’t help but soften his tone. "Honey, we agreed before. This isn’t a fake marriage. A proper married life..."

Victor was trying to remind her of that lunch they’d had in Aethelburg, where they had come to an understanding.

Their marriage wouldn’t be in name only; a physical relationship was a necessary part of it. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

If they didn’t have a physical relationship for two months, could they even be called newlyweds?

But as far as Jessie was concerned, she hadn’t heard a single word Victor said after that. Her mind was completely occupied by the word he had just used: "Honey."

In Jessie’s memory, Victor had started out calling her by her full name. Then, at the wedding, he’d started calling her "Jessie," like family. Later, on their honeymoon, he’d only ever called her "Honey" when they were in bed and he was trying to coax her into something.

But now...

The tips of Jessie’s ears went red. ’Isn’t this cheating?’

"Honey?" Seeing Jessie just staring at the grains of rice in her bowl without reacting, Victor walked over and sat down beside her. "Is that okay?" he asked in a low voice.

Disturbed by his sudden closeness, Jessie snapped back to reality. "What’s okay or not okay?" She hadn’t heard a thing he’d said.

Victor sighed. "...I said, I’ll do as you say, but two months is too long. How about three days?"

Jessie turned her head, giving the man beside her a dark look. "In your dreams." She pushed him away and took a large bite of a salt-baked shrimp. "One week. And we’ll see how you behave."

Victor smiled, as if to agree.

It wasn’t until after Jessie had finished eating that she had a belated realization. ’Have I been played again?’

’I clearly started at one month! Why did I give in so quickly? How did it suddenly turn into just one week?’

’So frustrating!’
