Chapter 140: Chapter 140: Young Master Hunter Returns Home

The old lady and Cherry Lewis left, and Isabella Weaver entered the room, standing in the living room, watching Connor set the lunch table, and spoke softly, "Connor, thank you."

Connor hurriedly replied, "Young Madam, you’re too polite. This is what I should do. Originally, it was supposed to be the Young Master’s matter; I didn’t expect it to affect you, and the Young Master didn’t either. But don’t worry, I’ve sent him a message, and he’ll be back soon."

Isabella shook her head, "It’s fine, let him focus on his work; there’s no need to rush back."

Connor just kept his head down, not saying a word.

This was a decision beyond his reach.

In the evening, before the sunset had fully set, Harry Hunter appeared before Isabella Weaver.

Isabella had already changed clothes, sitting at the desk drawing the illustrations specified by the magazine. Seeing him, she was slightly surprised, "Why are you back so soon? Have you finished your work?"

Harry stepped forward, pulled her up from the chair, and hugged her. After a long time, he said, "I’m sorry."

Isabella knew what he meant and smiled, "It’s okay, it’s not your fault, no need to apologize. When we got married, it was to shield my family from trouble; you helped me, so it’s fair I bear some pressure from your family."

"Hmm."

Harry responded, but inside he was already seething with anger.

He didn’t marry just to deal with his family; he genuinely thought Isabella was great, and she’d already had a hard enough life. He didn’t want to be the one bringing her misery!

He held Isabella tighter and his voice tightened, "Were you scared? Were you hurt?"

Isabella gently shook her head, "No."

Nobody understood better than Harry how forceful and domineering the old lady could be; his heart ached for Isabella’s understanding and for the grievances she had to suffer.

Shouldn’t she be crying to him?

Connor said even her pajamas were torn, dragged out of the house by bodyguards, fists almost landing on her face.

Yet she hadn’t said a word, didn’t complain, didn’t lament, silently enduring it all.

Just how much hardship did she endure from childhood to nurture such a resilient and independent character?

"Isabella, pack some things."

Isabella was puzzled, "What’s going on?"

"Forget it, no need to pack. I’ll have someone prepare for you. You’re coming with me tonight."

"Where to?"

"On a business trip."

"Why would I go with you for work? Won’t I be a burden?"

"No. Come away with me for a few days until the Hunter Family’s issues are resolved."

Isabella fell into silence.

She indeed hated having people break into her house and didn’t want her clothes torn and to be dragged out again.

If this happened again...

"Alright, I’ll go with you."

After all, she could draw anywhere, not necessarily in A City. It was also a chance to escape the messy people here temporarily; as she thought carefully, she felt a bit happy.

Harry felt her happiness and couldn’t help but lower his head to kiss her forehead.

Perhaps he should have taken her out to walk and play a long time ago.

They were newlyweds; at the very least, they should have a honeymoon trip.

He had been too busy taking over the group and had overlooked all this.

Harry held her for a while, accompanied her for dinner, gave a few instructions, and then headed out the door.

Isabella could roughly guess what he was up to and didn’t ask much, simply packed her things, put money and her drawings into a backpack, and then read a book while waiting for Harry to return.
