After Being Reborn, Her Only Mission Is to Love Him-Chapter 607 - 605 Which plan is not feasible?
Chapter 607: Chapter 605 Which plan is not feasible?
In other words, her existence was now irreplaceable, so she could potentially turn the tables and get a hold on Xia Wenjin.
She had previously been so beaten by Xiao Mo that her reason was almost driven away.
Fortunately, she had recently stayed in the hospital for a while, and her reason had returned.
Hao Jiayi pondered for a long time before finally sending a message to Xia Wenjin.
Her actions actually contained an element of gambling, but she felt her chances of winning were higher, so she went all in.
Seeing the response "Got it" from Xia Wenjin on her phone, she knew she had won this round.
The chess pieces in Xia Wenjin’s hands were no better than her; otherwise, Xia Wenjin wouldn’t be so compromising towards her.
Thinking like this, Hao Jiayi suddenly felt emboldened.
She dressed herself up at home, and then reluctantly headed to Time Cafe.
Sure enough, when she arrived, Xia Wenjin had been waiting in the cafe for a long time, and she couldn’t help but curve her lips in triumph as she glanced at the several frantic calls on her phone.
These little tricks of gaining an upper hand weren’t only effective on men.
She pushed open the cafe’s door and walked to the coffee lounge where she had agreed to meet Xia Wenjin.
Upon entering, she was greeted by Xia Wenjin cursing, "Why hasn’t this bitch arrived yet?"
As soon as her words finished, the room’s door was pushed open.
When Xia Wenjin saw Hao Jiayi appear, especially her unhurried demeanor, she became infuriated.
"You had a set time, so why are you so late?"
She glared with irritation at Hao Jiayi, her anger increasing as she recalled the attitude with which she had sent her messages.
Hao Jiayi pushed her stray hair behind her ear and pulled up a chair to sit down close by, "If I remember correctly, we are in a partnership, I’m not your slave. There’s no need for me to report everything to you, right?"
Her lightweight words infuriated Xia Wenjin even more.
"Partnership? You took my money, so you need to do my bidding! Don’t give me that partnership crap!"
Xia Wenjin hated the feeling of losing control, especially since things had been going smoothly until they started to unravel midway.
Her mood became uncontrollably irritable, and the two bodyguards standing by exchanged glances before one stepped forward and whispered, "Miss, there’s no need to stoop to her level. She’s not worth your anger."
It wasn’t that the bodyguard was concerned for Xia Wenjin’s welfare—he was worried that if she continued to be irate, Hao Jiayi, their chess piece, might slip through their fingers.
If there were any changes to the "game" set by the superior and it displeased him, it would spell trouble for them.
Of course, they had to stop this fool from making any more stupid decisions.
The other bodyguard also nodded in agreement, "Exactly, miss. It’s not worth harming your health over such lowlife."
Hearing her bodyguards’ flattery, Xia Wenjin’s mood softened substantially.
Even her fledgling reason began to find its way back.
She furrowed her brow and stared intently at Hao Jiayi, "Since you’re the one who asked to meet today, speak up. What do you want to discuss?"
Xia Wenjin leaned back against her chair, the displeasure in her brows and eyes still exceptionally apparent.
Hao Jiayi wasn’t angry, though. Hadn’t she seen enough cold shoulders during her time at the Feng family?
As long as it was to her advantage, what did a few cold shoulders matter?
Hao Jiayi lightly flicked her fingernail and slowly began, "The plan you told me about before doesn’t work at all, so I’m considering whether I should cooperate with you or not."
Xia Wenjin was taken aback, "Which plan doesn’t work?"
The plan for her to poison Xiao Mo and Xiao Jinglan wasn’t viable?
How did that become unfeasible?
Xia Wenjin’s eyebrows nearly twisted into a knot as she stared intently at Hao Jiayi.
"Xiao Mo has another wife, but you know that, don’t you?" Hao Jiayi said, locking eyes with Xia Wenjin, who guiltily looked away.
This made Hao Jiayi laugh scornfully. So this woman really did know. What was the reason for her hiding this?
She didn’t realize that Xia Wenjin couldn’t look her in the eye, not because she knew Xiao Mo had a wife, but because she was guilty and worried that somebody would discover she was Xiao Mo’s wife herself.
She had swapped identities with Ya Meizi not so easily, and she had no desire to revert to the bullied Xia Wenjin.
Hao Jiayi cleared her throat softly, "Since you know Xiao Mo has a wife, I obviously have no way of marrying him, so what you told me before doesn’t count for anything."
Hearing Hao Jiayi’s words, Xia Wenjin instantly understood her meaning; she hadn’t picked up on any telltale signs of her identity.
She breathed a sigh of relief. Her slightly tense heart immediately settled back down, "You don’t have to worry about Xiao Mo’s wife. She’s already dead. I can find evidence of his wife’s death, but whether you can get a marriage certificate with him is up to your own abilities."
Hao Jiayi raised her eyebrows in surprise, "Are you sure you can find evidence that his wife is dead, or are you deceiving me again?"
She narrowed her eyes, sizing up Xia Wenjin back and forth.
This woman had convinced her to agree to a fool’s errand when her head wasn’t clear, but now that she was more alert, these things became easier to see through.
Xia Wenjin, hearing Hao Jiayi’s utterly distrustful tone, frowned again, "I always follow through on what I say, do you not believe me?"
Hao Jiayi shrugged noncommittally, "It’s not that I don’t believe you, it’s just that some things aren’t as simple as you think they are."
Her words had an implied meaning, which irritated Xia Wenjin even more.
"Then just wait until I’ve taken care of this matter, then we can discuss cooperating again."
Having said that, Xia Wenjin stood up, intending to leave, but was stopped by Hao Jiayi.
She wanted to manipulate Xia Wenjin, not to reject the idea of cooperation.
Her words just now were harsh but true. If Xia Wenjin gave her nothing but empty promises, she indeed had no need to continue cooperating.
But she was in a dire situation, and couldn’t find anyone else to help for the time being.
The only person she could use right now was Xia Wenjin, so she couldn’t just let her go easily.
Xia Wenjin looked at Hao Jiayi, who blocked her way, and glared at her displeased, "What? Do you have something else to say?"
Hao Jiayi looked calmly at Xia Wenjin and spoke unhurriedly, "The matter of Xiao Mo’s wife probably won’t be resolved anytime soon, I want to talk to you about something else."
"What is it?" Xia Wenjin was completely out of patience with Hao Jiayi.
