Addiction to Temptation: His Mischievous Sweetheart Captivates Him-Chapter 201: Natalie Vaughn Drunk
The sound of a collision at the door only made the room quiet for a moment. No one paid much attention and continued the conversation.
Natalie Vaughn was saying nice things to appease Director Gable.
"If it weren’t for your script, I definitely wouldn’t have made a deal with Felix Langdon."
Hearing this, Director Gable’s face finally looked a bit better.
Just as he was about to ask what kind of deal Natalie had made with Felix to gauge the value of his script to her, there was another collision sound at the door, accompanied by cursing.
Natalie frowned. It was already ten o’clock at night, there shouldn’t be so many people coming for dinner now, so why was there a commotion at the box door?
Because Natalie was present, the hotel manager quickly came over to mediate. The door muffled the manager’s voice, but the voice of the cursing man could be heard clearly.
He was cursing at a woman again.
Natalie suddenly remembered the first time she met Vera Underwood was also in a hotel, and the scene was very similar.
It was likely intuition. Natalie got up and opened the door.
The cursing stopped for a moment, and the drunken man squinted his eyes when he saw Natalie.
"Where did this beauty come from?"
After saying that, he burped.
Natalie frowned, glanced at him, and the hotel manager, frightened regardless of whether the guest was a VIP, immediately reached out to block the drunken man.
"Beauty, hehe, let’s have a drink together."
Natalie lowered her gaze to look at the woman still kneeling on the ground, then raised her eyes to look at the woman standing beside the drunken man.
This time, the one being cursed and beaten wasn’t Vera, but.....
Natalie looked at Vera, who was standing beside the man with her head always lowered, and suddenly smirked sarcastically.
Twice in a row, she rescued Vera. Especially the second time in the bar, she rescued Vera under the cold eyes of onlookers at the risk of being recognized, and today Vera coldly watched others getting beaten.
Natalie didn’t think of herself as morally superior, nor did she like to morally coerce others. She wouldn’t blame Vera for her actions, but... she was disappointed in Vera.
If she hadn’t heard wrong, this drunken man was the same President Young the man at the bar wanted to introduce to Vera last time.
Vera didn’t dare to meet Natalie’s eyes, only kept her head down.
Natalie shifted her gaze away, her voice was indifferent.
"I told you, if you need help, you can call me."
Vera shivered and lowered her head even more.
Natalie knew that Vera’s mother was bedridden with a serious illness and needed a lot of money, but with her previous education and abilities, she could secure a decent position in a large company, which would be enough to cover the monthly medical expenses.
What she didn’t understand was why Vera had resigned a few years ago and gradually degraded to being at others’ mercy.
But now she didn’t really want to know.
Natalie looked back at the woman on the ground, thin like Vera, with bruises on her face, looking pathetic.
"Manager, it’s too noisy, it’s affecting my meal."
The manager immediately acknowledged and called the security over.
President Young, being drunk, couldn’t understand what it meant for Natalie to be able to command the manager, and he reached out to grab Natalie.
"Beauty, I’ve got money, have a drink with me?"
Disgusted, Natalie took a step back, shut the door directly, and no longer spared Vera a glance. Once seated, she picked up a glass and drank it all in one go.
Julian Sutton saw her expression wasn’t good, so he asked.
"An acquaintance?"
Natalie merely snorted coldly and said nothing more.
Julian raised an eyebrow but didn’t ask again.
Natalie wasn’t a good drinker and didn’t plan to drink much, but everyone at the table took turns toasting her. Here, she was just an actress, just a colleague to them. She had actually enjoyed filming over the past two months, so she didn’t refuse anyone.
The result was that Natalie sat upright in her chair, but her whole demeanor was completely different from when she was sober.
In their eyes, a sober Natalie was a bit aloof and somewhat noble yet unpretentious, but drunk Natalie...
Her face was flushed, her hands propped up her chin, fingers occasionally poking her chubby cheeks. Her big peach blossom eyes were wide open, glistening like stars in the sky, and the most fatal thing was that she occasionally smiled, her eyes bending down, giggling foolishly.
Like a just-transformed, completely innocent little fox.
Pure, innocent, unbearably adorable.
Wocccc! How could she be so soft and sweet! All the men at the table couldn’t take their eyes off Natalie, even Julian Sutton was surprised by her look.
So this is what Natalie is like when she’s drunk? All her thorns were gone, soft and meek.
Julian suddenly chuckled.
Does this mean he could make up for the losses he previously suffered from Natalie?
Director Gable probably didn’t expect Natalie to have such a low tolerance, getting drunk after just a few drinks. He hadn’t intended to get her drunk.
"Should we call Natalie’s agent?"
"No need."
As soon as Julian spoke, everyone turned to look at him.
"When Natalie goes back, you probably won’t get to see her much in the future. Now that she’s so easy to talk to, ask whatever you want while you can."
The others exchanged glances, feeling it was inappropriate, but their curiosity about Natalie got the better of them.
Someone tentatively asked a question, and Natalie obediently answered, even her voice was soft and sweet.
Julian sat amusedly watching this scene, not knowing that because of what he said, Natalie later found a chance to give him a taste of his own medicine.
However, though Natalie was docile after getting drunk, it didn’t mean she was foolish. When asked about Zane Thorne, she just smiled and said nothing.
It wasn’t until Natalie’s phone rang that the continuous questions stopped.
Coincidentally, it was a video call from Zane Thorne.
Natalie’s eyes lit up, and she immediately answered the call.
"Honey!"
That word made everyone’s body in the box tingle.
This, this, this... can they even listen to this? Damn, it’s so thrilling, is this how Natalie interacts with her husband?
Upon hearing Natalie’s "Honey," Zane Thorne immediately sensed something was wrong. Seeing Natalie’s flushed face, with innocence gleaming in her eyes, Zane understood what was happening.
The man’s expression instantly darkened.
"Where are you?"
Natalie picked up her phone and panned it around the table.
"I just wrapped up the shoot, having dinner with the crew."
Zane’s sharp eyes quickly noticed Natalie’s agent and assistant were not there, his brow furrowed even tighter.
"Baby, there’s a sofa in the box, go sit there and be good."
Natalie listened to Zane and sat on the sofa. She then saw Zane pick up another phone and make a call.
"Who are you calling?"
Natalie blinked and gave a small hiccup, looking adorably cute. Zane’s heart instantly softened.
But at the thought of so many people seeing Natalie like this, his mood sank again.
"Genevieve Joyce is coming over soon. Will you be good and go back to the hotel to sleep then?"
Natalie hiccupped again and obediently nodded.
"Okay."
