Chapter 86: Pool table intimacy - Part 2

The game was in full swing. The tension was high, and both teams were on par. Although it was a friendly game, they played as if their lives depended on it, especially Kyrell.

Even Sienna, who knew nothing about the game, became serious and gained hold of it as time passed. However, there were times when she fumbled and missed the shots. But Kyrell made up for them, backing her brilliantly.

’Tch, tch, tch, look at them blinding my eyes with PDA,’ Xavier clicked his tongue when he saw Kyrell helping Sienna with a particularly difficult shot. They were close to each other, and it seemed as if they were hugging from behind. Kyrell’s chest was practically glued to Sienna’s back as he helped her adjust her pose.

Xavier glanced at Amy, who was clicking the couple’s pictures from afar. While Sienna had no idea about it, the others did, including the ones who were yet to find out about the marriage.

None of them were idiots. Just from how the couple interacted, they could make out that something was going on between the two. Although their gossip radar was active, they didn’t probe into the matter, allowing them to enjoy their time.

Isaac smirked when he saw Kyrell step back while Sienna prepared for the shot. The man’s hands remained on her waist as he stared at the pool table from behind.

A handsome man and a beautiful woman were always pleasing to the eyes. Even the men who usually weren’t interested in such matters found the couple exceptionally sweet and made for each other.

Sienna held her breath and hit the cue ball. It rolled towards the striped ball she was aiming for. Unfortunately, the striped ball missed the pocket.

Sienna gave Kyrell a defeated look.

"It’s just a game. Don’t worry," he comforted her, and studied the ball arrangement on the pool table.

Isaac and Xavier had two solid balls, and they had three. Sienna and he had to up their game if they wanted to win.

It was Isaac’s turn, and with utmost precision, he pocketed one of the solid balls, and Sienna puckered her lips, her shoulders sagging slightly.

Kyrell didn’t mind losing to his friends. But Sienna’s defeated expression made him want to win for her. He couldn’t bear to see her sad, even if it was just for a game.

So, in two consecutive shots, he sent two striped balls to the pockets, bringing the game to a thrilling point. Now, both teams had one ball to pocket before they could go for the 8 ball.

Sienna’s brows jumped in excitement, and she stared at Kyrell in admiration. Her sparkling eyes made the man’s chest swell with pride, and he couldn’t stop smiling. It was as if his heart was layered with honey, sweet and lovely.

However, he fumbled in the next shot and failed to pocket the ball, allowing their opponent to have their chance.

Xavier and Isaac weren’t hellbent on winning. It didn’t matter to them if they lost. When they saw Sienna’s twinkling eyes every time Kyrell got a pocket, they smiled to themselves, making a decision without even consulting each other.

A small glance was all it took to understand they were on the same boat.

Xavier played poorly on purpose, returning the chance to his friend’s team.

It was Sienna’s turn again, and she managed to send the last striped ball to the pocket. Now, they just had the 8 ball.

"Top left corner pocket," she called and aimed the shot. The 8 ball rolled towards the pocket, but stopped a few inches short, and Sienna’s face scrunched up regretfully.

Following their plan, Isaac missed the shot, putting all the spotlight on Kyrell again.

Kyrell knew what his friends were doing. But he didn’t expose them, accepting their help gladly. He was eager to see how Sienna would react once they won the game. She hadn’t disappointed him until now, staring at him with bright eyes every time he played well.

Kyrell didn’t let his friends’ efforts go to waste. With a clean strike, he got the 8 ball, and Sienna jumped in joy, rushing to hug him to celebrate their victory.

"Wow, you did," she gushed, pulling him close, and the man accepted the hug with a grin.

Meanwhile, Isaac and Xavier clapped, graciously accepting their defeat while they smiled at Kyrell knowingly.

"Congratulations," they said, and Sienna let go of Kyrell and nodded with a huge smile.

The two men moved away to try the other games, and Sienna returned to the sofa to take a break.

"Congratulations," Kyrell said, taking a seat beside her, and Sienna gave him a knowing look.

"What?" Kyrell couldn’t fathom the meaning behind her gaze.

"Did we really win?" Sienna asked, cocking her brows. "Weren’t your friends going easy on us so that I could win?"

"You noticed?" Kyrell wasn’t surprised that Sienna had realized their tricks. Given her intelligence, it would be a surprise if she didn’t see through their schemes.

"Of course. They were obviously trying to hide their skills, especially in the last few rounds. Wasn’t it all to make me win?"

"You guessed it right." Kyrell didn’t deny the truth and leaned back on the sofa. "Are you angry?"

"Should I be angry?" Sienna asked, sipping on her cranberry juice.

"Well, I don’t know." Kyrell wasn’t sure if Sienna was offended by his friends’ gimmicks. From her expression, it didn’t seem like she was angry.

Sienna wasn’t angry. Instead, she only found the men mischievous. She understood their intentions and even felt they were good people. They were doing it to help their friend. Moreover, it didn’t matter who won and who lost. It was just a game. freewebnoveℓ.com

"I need to have a word with the manager," Sienna said, glancing at her watch. It was close to twelve, and they would be leaving soon. The manager was waiting for her to update her on the club’s situation.

Kyrell nodded and stood up. He sent a quick, silent message to Xavier, who returned him a thumbs-up.

The manager was waiting for her in his office. Travis didn’t have an office of his own. Everything was being handled by the manager, and if the man needed to contact him, he’d just reach Travis at the Lawrence Group.

"Is everything going well?" Sienna asked, taking a seat on the small sofa in the office while Kyrell and the manager remained standing.

"Yes, Miss Lawrence. Everything is going well. These are the profits for this month." The manager then handed her the file, and Sienna studied it for a few minutes.

"Good job. Inform all the employees that their hourly wage will increase by 3 dollars from next week."

The manager was visibly excited. He was already earning well as a manager at the club. If his salary increased, he would love his job all the more.

"How is the expansion of the club going?" Sienna asked, staring at the numbers on the file.

"Everything’s going well, Miss Lawrence. It’ll be ready to open before next month."

"Good." Sienna returned the file to him and stood up. "Inform me if there’s anything."

"Yes, Miss Lawrence."

Sienna frowned when the loud music hit her. She wasn’t a fan of clubs, preferring a cozy, comfort night than dancing her ass off.

The path to the private room was filled with people, making it difficult for the two to make it through the crowd.

Kyrell shielded her and helped her to reach the top of the stairs. Somehow, they made it to the top floor. However, one of the private room doors opened, and the people inside ran out, pushing Sienna out of the way, and she stumbled.

If not for Kyrell holding her close, pulling her into his embrace, she’d have been pushed along the crowd for sure.

Sienna frowned, annoyed at the unruly crowd. But she couldn’t lose her temper, considering that it was a club and their behavior was normal in a club.

Suppressing her anger, she waited for the group to leave, leaning against Kyrell, who had his arm wrapped around her shoulders, leaning forward towards her to protect her from the crowd.

With the wall behind her and Kyrell in front, Sienna was protected, and the crowd couldn’t get to her.

While his eyes were on the people around him, Sienna’s gaze moved to him, and she started studying him. Her heart beat spiked when she saw his Adam’s apple.

Although Kyrell’s body was pressed against hers, he still maintained a small distance, giving her some space to breathe.

"They are gone, Miss Lawrence," Kyrell said once the crowd had reduced and looked at the woman in his arms. His heart skipped a beat when he saw her staring at him. Her hazy eyes made him lose control slowly and inadvertently, his eyes fell on her lips again.

He wanted to kiss her so bad that it was killing him from within. But he controlled himself, stopping himself from acting upon his thoughts with great difficulty.

Gritting his teeth, Kyrell tried to pull away. But Sienna stopped him, making the man’s eyes go wide in surprise. He looked at her, puzzled by her actions.

"Sienna, you..."

Kyrell didn’t even get to complete his words. Sienna wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in for a kiss, surprising him by her sudden boldness.

The kiss started slowly and lightly at first. But soon, she kissed him fervently, moving closer to him until her body was entirely pressed against his.

Kyrell’s heart flipped in joy, and he snaked his arms around her waist. Turning from passive to active, he kissed her back immediately, eventually indulging in his desires.
