Accidentally Yours, Mr. Stranger-Chapter 81: Dates and birthdays
Chapter 81: Dates and birthdays
"Since we are on the topic, what will happen to your security agency?" Sienna had been fretting about it for a long time. The Lawrence Group headquarters were in San Francisco. She couldn’t quite move to another place. So, Kyrell had to do the sacrifice.
"It’s not a problem actually. Although we are based in LA, we don’t usually stay in LA most of the time. Also, Xavier is mainly in charge of the Cheetah Corps. I can leave it to him."
If Xavier were to hear him, he’d jump out of his car and drag Kyrell down to argue with him.
The restaurant was close by. They reached within a few minutes.
While Sienna and Kyrell waited for the others, they stood beside each other. Even though there was some distance between them, they looked oddly harmonious. Anyone who saw them thought them to be a couple.
The maître de was waiting for them, already having received Sienna’s call some time ago.
"Miss Lawrence, welcome."
Sienna nodded, donning her usual cold look. "Is the private room ready?"
"Yes, Miss Lawrence."
"Does this restaurant have a private room?" Kyrell asked in surprise. It didn’t look like it. It seemed more like a casual dining place.
"Yeah. The restaurant belonged to Leah. She wasn’t comfortable dining in public. We usually look for ones with a private booth. But there aren’t many casual dining places with private rooms. So, she just opened one." Sienna’s eyes lost all lustre when she spoke about her sister, and Kyrell looked at her in concern.
"I’m fine. Don’t worry," Sienna assured with a sad smile, and Kyrell didn’t speak more.
Sienna was instantly distracted when the others arrived and the group entered the restaurant, led by the maître de.
The ambiance was nice and wasn’t too demanding, unlike the luxurious dining places they had been to. So, the group didn’t feel unwelcome. Although they were usually unbothered by it, it was still uncomfortable to have judgmental eyes on them all the time.
They were instantly led to the private room, and Sienna took the seat first with Kyrell and Amy taking the chairs on either side. The group was actually glad that they had a private room. Since they were celebrating Isaac’s birthday, they obviously had to cut the cake and cheer a little, which would disturb the other diners.
"Order whatever you want. It’s all on me," Sienna said. But the group didn’t take her words for granted and remained reserved. They only chose a few items until Sienna couldn’t take it anymore.
"It looks like you guys don’t like the restaurant that much."
"No, no, Miss Lawrence. That’s not true," Nick said for everyone.
"In that case, why are you being shy? Order whatever you want."
The group didn’t react, and Sienna sighed softly, deciding to take the matter into her own hands.
"Bring two of everything on the menu and..."
"Sienna." Kyrell stopped her immediately.
"What?" Sienna gave him a questioning look. "I don’t know if you are hungry or not, I’m quite hungry. By the way, if you’re worried about the taste, I assure you the food here is delicious."
Everyone realized what Sienna was doing, and they eventually relented.
"Miss Lawrence, I don’t think we’ll be able to finish all the food if you order two of everything," Isaac joked.
"Then, order whatever you want. Otherwise, I’ll do what I deem fit."
Isaac glanced at Kyrell, who nodded at him, an action that didn’t go unnoticed by Sienna.
The group didn’t hesitate anymore and started ordering whatever they wanted.
Sienna leaned closer to Kyrell, forcing the man to bend to reach her. "It looks like my words have no value. Even though I’m their employer, they still listen to you."
Kyrell smirked and moved closer until his lips were right by her ear. "My dear, they don’t know about us marrying yet. Don’t worry, they’ll listen to you too. After all, you’re their Boss Lady."
Sienna’s cheeks heated up when she felt his lips almost touching her ear. The man’s voice made it all the more difficult to control her erratic heart, and her cheeks slowly turned red. It looked as if blood would drip out of them any time soon.
’How cute!’ Kyrell thought.
"Anything else you’d like to add, Miss Lawrence?" The waiter’s voice broke her trance, and she moved away from Kyrell instantly.
Sienna noticed they hadn’t added any drinks, preferring to settle for mocktails instead. "Why haven’t you ordered any drinks?"
"It’s better we don’t," Kyrell whispered. "We don’t want to be inebriated if something unexpected happens."
Sienna hadn’t considered in that direction. Nodding to herself, she too settled for a mocktail, deciding to join the others instead of drinking alone. They could always party at home. She had some booze in her villa.
Once Sienna was done, the waiter left the room to get their orders ready while Sienna and Kyrell looked at each other. They had already decided not to take the thunder from Isaac. It was his birthday. So, they remained in the shadows, deciding to reveal their decision to marry the next day.
Meanwhile, Kyle placed a box before Isaac and opened it. Inside it lay an exquisite carrot cake.
"Carrot cake?" Sienna exclaimed in surprise. What an odd choice for a birthday cake.
"Yeah. Isaac loves carrot cakes."
"Did Gary bake it?"
Kyrell nodded.
"Cool."
"Come on, birthday boy. Get up. Make a wish and cut the cake," Xavier said while Gary lit a candle.
Isaac scratched his head, feeling embarrassed when he met Sienna’s gaze. He was fine if it was just his friends. But he felt a little reserved in her presence.
Understanding what was running through his mind, Sienna said, "Ignore me. Consider me one of you."
’How could we do that, Miss Lawrence? You’re our employer. We can’t ignore you,’ Isaac cried in his mind. But her words put his restless heart to rest, and he didn’t fret about it anymore.
While the others cheered, he blew out the candle and cut the cake.
"When is your birthday, by the way?" Sienna whispered, leaning closer to Kyrell when she noticed that the others were busy feeding cake to each other.
"Why, my dear? Are you going to surprise me?" Kyrell quirked a brow in wonder.
"Maybe," Sienna drawled.
"November 15."
"Ohh... do you want to know mine?" Sienna asked, registering the date in her mind.
"I already do."
"You do?" Sienna was taken aback.
"It ain’t a secret, considering who you are," Kyrell said, and Sienna’s lips parted in realization.
"Don’t worry," Kyrell stared at her with such intensity that Sienna felt bashful under his gaze. "I may forget everything else. But I won’t forget such a special day."
