Chapter 78: Last chance

Since Sienna had no major health conditions and needed only to rest well to recover, she requested to be discharged the next day.

While Frank handled the discharge procedures, Kyrell helped her with her belongings and inspected the ward to see if anything had been missed.

When Frank returned, he noticed the couple lost in conversation. They were much closer than the previous day, and sparks were flying everywhere. Tilting his head, he observed Sienna, who seemed happier and glowing, nothing like the sick patient she had looked when he had left after visiting her the previous morning.

’What happened in my absence? Am I missing something?’ he wondered, knocking on the door before entering the ward.

"Frank, is it done? Can we leave?" Sienna asked, standing up. Kyrell immediately held her, his actions making Frank’s eyes go wide.

"Yes, Miss. We can leave now."

"Good." Sienna nodded and walked ahead while Kyrell followed a step behind.

Frank’s eyes kept drifting between Sienna and Kyrell. Something was happening between them for sure. His years of experience said it.

"Are you going to the hospital today?" Sienna asked as they waited for the elevator.

"Yes, Miss. I will go with Agnes later."

Sienna nodded. "Good then. It just so happens I need to speak to you about something important."

The elevator doors peeled open, and Sienna entered first. Unable to comprehend her words, Frank glanced at Kyrell, asking for clarification. But the man didn’t react. Instead, he entered the elevator, leaving Frank alone on the other side.

"Frank?" Sienna called him while Kyrell held the elevator doors when they were about to close. "Aren’t you going to come in?"

Frank jolted out of his trance and entered the elevator.

"Miss, you..."

"Not here." Sienna shushed him with a glance, and Frank went silent immediately.

They didn’t speak much on the way. Sienna had donned a cold expression, making her seem lethal and intimidating, while Kyrell’s height and build, coupled with his scrutinizing eyes, made him look all the more menacing.

People moved out of their way on their own accord, their gazes holding nothing but admiration for the woman in the lead. Many recognized her. But they didn’t dare speak about her, feeling their hearts jump when they saw the man protecting her. He didn’t seem to be someone they should offend.

Sienna reached her car without any hindrance. As usual, she took the back seat while Kyrell sat behind the wheel.

Frank looked back at the people who were watching him curiously before taking the passenger seat.

"Frank, I’m marrying Mr. Winchester."

Barely had he fastened his seat belt when Sienna dropped the bomb on him. The car sprang like an arrow as Kyrell drove out of the hospital premises and merged with the traffic.

Frank’s pupils dilated while his mind went blank. He was especially glad that Sienna had waited until he had his seat belt on. Otherwise, he’d have forgotten it and smacked his forehead against the windshield.

"Miss?"

"You heard it right. I’ll be marrying Mr. Winchester in a few days."

Frank didn’t know how to react. It was true he wanted the two to get together. But somewhere deep down, he was still apprehensive. It had been less than ten days since they met. Was Kyrell actually the best person for her?

"I know your concerns, Frank. Don’t worry. I didn’t make this decision on the spur of the moment. I’m indeed marrying him because of the will, but I really want to give our relationship a chance. Since I have to marry someone eventually, why don’t I marry the man who likes me?"

Frank’s head immediately shot to Kyrell and he cocked his brow questioningly. Kyrell likes Miss? Since when?

Kyrell turned to Frank and nodded at him solemnly as if to say, ’for a long time’.

Sienna didn’t mention anything about the divorce. Although she didn’t mind disclosing it to Frank, she preferred to keep it a secret from him. Otherwise, the man would surely panic.

"Miss, since you’ve decided, I’m naturally happy for you. I wish you both good luck and lots of happiness."

"Thank you, Frank."

"Thank you." Kyrell smiled at him, accepting his wishes graciously.

Frank’s thoughts mattered a lot to him. He was like a father figure to Sienna, and since she trusted and depended on him wholeheartedly, the man had the power to influence her decisions to some extent. Kyrell was immensely grateful that he was on their side.

"Miss, will you be announcing the news to the public?" Frank asked, thinking about how this marriage could affect Sienna. What would happen when the people who wanted her dead found out about it?

"Yes, I will. But on the day we get our marriage certificate. I don’t want any hiccups before that," Sienna said, scrolling through her phone. A message notification popped up on the screen, and she rolled her eyes when she saw the contents.

Dane: Consider me, Sienna. We’ve known each other for a long time. I’ll never hurt you.

"Not even in your dreams," Sienna scoffed and deleted the message. She even blocked his number.

"What’s wrong, Miss?" Frank asked when he heard her voice.

"Nothing." Sienna pursed her lips and stared out of the window. Her face suddenly became impassive. So, Kyrell couldn’t read what was running in her mind.

Glancing at Frank, who looked equally concerned, he tapped his fingers on the steering wheel.

"Frank, release the news about the will and the conditions for me to inherit the assets."

"Miss?" Frank was at a loss for words.

Even Kyrell couldn’t decipher what she was planning. Why does she want the world to know about the will? Wouldn’t it only gain more eyeballs? Why does she want to be the topic of gossip again?

"I have my reasons. Just release the news tomorrow morning."

Frank wanted to ask more. But since Sienna wasn’t willing to speak more about it, he gave up probing.

Silence fell again, and it continued until they reached the villa.

Gesturing for Frank to go inside, Sienna stopped Kyrell and pulled him to the garden.

"Miss Lawrence?" Kyrell blinked at her a few times, wondering what she was up to now.

"Your life might be in danger along with mine. I’m giving you a last chance to think about it," Sienna said, her eyes devoid of emotion. "If you want to back off from the marriage, you may do so any time before we get the certificates."

"Miss Lawrence," Kyrell smiled helplessly. "If I were to back off just because my life would be in danger once I associate with you, then my feelings for you aren’t genuine. And I’d be highly unworthy of you. I have long decided to protect you for life. Do you think I’ll ever allow anything to happen to me?"

Sienna smirked, surprise invading her emotionless eyes. "Cocky much, huh?"

"I don’t say anything I’m not sure about."

"Since you said so, you aren’t allowed to back off from the marriage now. Your only chance is gone."

"And I’m only glad," Kyrell said in all seriousness, the intensity of his words striking Sienna’s heart directly.

Examining him for a few seconds more, she smiled faintly before entering the villa. "We’ll be leaving at 6. Be ready by then."

"Yes, Ma’am."
