Accidentally Yours, Mr. Stranger-Chapter 76: Passionate
Chapter 76: Passionate
Brendon didn’t stay for a long time. He left once they finished eating dinner, after advising Sienna to take care of her health and not ignore her rest.
Sienna nodded at everything he said. The man was her elder, and he only had her well-being in mind. She endured his nagging, not at all finding it bothersome. Instead, she only looked at the hidden concern in it.
"Don’t look at me like that," Brendon said, pushing his coat behind him. "I’ll feel as if I’m bullying you."
"I never said that," Sienna shot back, blinking at him innocently.
"Hmph, don’t come crying to me if you fall sick again. I’m going to leave now. Take care."
Sienna knew that the man was joking and smiled simply. She waited until the man was gone before addressing the elephant in the room.
Kyrell hadn’t spoken a word since the time he had returned to the ward. He didn’t even look at her, making her all the more guilty. She knew she was being harsh with him. The man obviously liked her, and her current actions were only hurting him. He didn’t deserve that.
"Miss Lawrence, you may want to take a look at your phone. There’s a message from an unknown number," Kyrell informed, handing her her phone. Since it was locked, he couldn’t open the message directly to show it to her.
Sienna’s expression changed drastically, and she took the phone hurriedly, opening the message he was talking about. The contents were within her expectations. The unknown person seemed to be vengeful and lunatic, and she was glad she had escaped a bullet.
"Mr. Winchester, would you mind taking a seat here?" Sienna patted the space before her and moved her legs, making more space for him.
"Miss Lawrence, I think it’s time for you to rest." For the first time, Kyrell rejected the opportunity to get close to her. He was already in pain to imagine her being with someone. He wanted to make it at least less miserable for himself by distancing himself from her when there was still time.
"Mr. Winchester, whatever I’m going to ask you is important. Are you sure you don’t want to listen to it?"
Kyrell was drowning in his sorrow to sense her teasing tone. Assuming her to actually discuss something crucial, he pursed his lips and sat on the bed by her legs.
Sienna smiled to herself, finding the man cute suddenly. Such a charismatic man looking so pitiful made her heart soften, and she shook her head.
"Mr. Winchester, you are single, right?"
Sienna wanted to smack her forehead. She knew the man was single. He had made it clear to her. Why was she asking such a stupid question?
"Huh?" Kyrell looked at her, perplexed.
Sienna’s mind went blank for a moment, and she forgot what she wanted to ask when she met his beautiful eyes. Even in sadness, they were some of the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen.
"I meant you aren’t married or in a relationship," Sienna clarified, feeling embarrassed when she realized what nonsense she was saying. Her words were only adding salt to Kyrell’s wounds.
"Forget all that I said previously. Do you know how to cook?" Sienna changed the direction of conversation so suddenly that Kyrell was having a hard time keeping up with her.
"Yeah."
"Is your cooking good?"
"I guess so," Kyrell answered, still puzzled by her questions. Where was this going? What is Sienna up to?
"Perfect. I’m single, you’re single. Do you want to marry me?" Sienna asked boldly, mustering all her courage.
Kyrell felt an explosion going off in his mind, and he stared at the woman before him as if she were an immortal.
Did she... did she ask me to marry her?
Kyrell felt everything to be a dream. It was so surreal he didn’t dare believe it.
’Why would Sienna ask me to marry her? I must be hallucinating. Yes, it’s all my imagination,’ Kyrell thought, feeling his heart twist. The pain was so miserable that he averted his gaze from her, hiding his grief from her.
’What happened to him suddenly? Shouldn’t he be jumping up in joy? Why does he look so despondent? Does he not want to marry me?’ Sienna’s thoughts started to run wild. However, she forced a brake on them, not willing to go in that direction, not yet.
"Mr. Winchester, hello?" Sienna snapped her fingers in front of him, and Kyrell turned to her immediately. "It looks like you went into shock because of my proposal. I’ll repeat my words one more time. Think carefully."
Sienna mustered her breath and looked at him calmly. "Do you want to marry me?"
Kyrell’s eyes widened, and the realization dawned upon him slowly. It wasn’t all his dream. Sienna had actually proposed a marriage to him. It wasn’t his imagination.
The sadness in his heart was washed away completely and replaced by disbelief.
Sienna is asking me to marry her? Is this really happening?
Sienna narrowed her eyes when she didn’t receive his response for the second time. Her mood became gloomy, and she berated herself for being hasty.
Maybe I should have waited. Or maybe he doesn’t intend to marry me and only likes me. It was just me overthinking.
"I think I got your answer, Mr. Winchester. Very well, then..."
"No, no, no," Kyrell panicked when he saw her indifferent eyes. Sienna had misunderstood his silence. He was only shocked; he wasn’t rejecting her. He’d never reject her.
"It’s just that I never expected to be proposed to by you all of a sudden, Miss Lawrence. I don’t..." ƒrēenovelkiss.com
Sienna sighed in relief when she discerned that she had misunderstood him. The man had gone into shock; he wasn’t rejecting her proposal. Relieved, she smiled faintly, and her eyes curved with a teasing glint.
"If you’re not willing, I’ll look for someone else. No pressure," Sienna said in all seriousness, hiding her mischievousness behind her tranquil facade, and as expected, Kyrell panicked immediately. He moved closer to her and held her hands, his eyes overflowing with sincerity and joy.
"Who said I’m not willing? I’m more than willing," he replied without hesitation. It was his dream to marry her, and now that his dream was about to become true, he was over the moon.
"Are you sure? You may take some time to think," Sienna suggested, still maintaining a poker face, and Kyrell shook his head, rejecting the suggestion immediately.
"No need, Miss Lawrence. I stand firm by my words."
"There is still time, Mr. Winchester. You can consider my proposal and give me your reply in a few days." Sienna continued to tease him while remaining indifferent.
However, Kyrell was anything but calm. Since the stars had shone on him, how could he let go of the wonderful opportunity? He didn’t know what made Sienna ask him to marry her. The circumstances didn’t matter to him. All he cared about was that Sienna wanted to marry him, and he wanted to marry her. That was enough for him.
"Miss Lawrence, I don’t need time. I will marry you. I want to marry you," he said so seriously that Sienna’s lingering doubts vanished immediately. She burst out laughing instantly, too amused by his intense reactions.
"You, Mr. Winchester, are quite adorable when you’re all flustered," Sienna teased, and Kyrell realized only then that Sienna had been pulling his leg all along.
"You..." Narrowing his eyes, he pulled her close suddenly until they were a mere few inches apart. His hot breath fell on her cheek and neck, making her heart palpitate. Her face flushed instantly while her eyes quivered.
"Miss Lawrence, is this how you tease your husband to be?" he asked, leaning closer to her until his lips were almost touching her cheek.
Sienna’s heart skipped a beat, and her cheeks heated up. Crimson blotched her skin until her cheeks were pink like a blooming rose.
At that moment, she looked so lovely, so beautiful, that Kyrell’s heart itched to kiss her. But he controlled himself and hummed softly, as if he were asking her to reply to his question.
"Mr. Winchester, control yourself." Sienna tried to free herself from him. But the man was having none of it. Instead, he moved even closer to her, if that was possible.
’What’s wrong with him? Why did he suddenly become so passionate? A few minutes ago, he was aggrieved and lost,’ Sienna wondered, trying hard to control her heartbeat.
"Are you sure you want me to do that, Miss Lawrence?" Kyrell’s voice was barely above a whisper, and every word of his struck her heart, affecting her in ways she couldn’t comprehend.
"I...I..." Sienna fumbled with her words. For the first time, she didn’t have a reply, and Kyrell let her go immediately, his eyes twinkling with barely concealed joy while his lips curled into a satisfied smirk.
"Don’t tease me again, my dear. You won’t be able to withstand it if I were to tease you back."
Sienna almost had a heart attack this time. What was wrong with this man? Why did he become amorous all of a sudden?
Clearing her throat, Sienna tried to ignore all that had happened a few seconds before and focused on what she had yet to say.
"Mr. Winchester, I want to suggest something."
"Go ahead, Miss Lawrence." Kyrell didn’t correct her to change the way she addressed him. There was a lot of time. There wasn’t a need for him to be hasty.
"Let’s give us a try." Sienna pointed at each other and continued, "If we are compatible and everything works out between us, that’d be amazing. But if it can’t, we can divorce after a year."
Kyrell’s smile faltered at the mention of divorce. But he understood her sentiments, and to a large extent, he agreed with her.
"What do you say?" Sienna looked at him seriously.
"I consent."
